Your content pushed me over the edge! I went out and bought my first real bike last night. A trek checkpoint. I had been wanting a bike for a while to help me get back into shape, but waking up everyday and seeing the fun you guys have riding, made me go out and get it! Too bad it was raining when I bought it, but today the sun should come out here in Texas so I’ll definitely go out for my first ride!
welcome to the N+1 club :). I'm quite new to cycling and Francis' content was a aid/inspiration in my getting started. I also got a Trek Checkpoint as my first "real" bike. Your comment struck a chord with me - I'm happy to see another person on a similar journey as me. What were you riding before? Have a great first ride!
Congratulations! While working yourself back into shape try to remember that it's more to be consistent w/ your efforts than being aggressive. Take your time, you'll get there.
Also, as Francis says "skin is waterproof" 🙃
I love this! ❤
@@malcontent_1 thank you for the tip! I’m sure I’ll get impatient at one point or another, but I’ll have to remind myself of the end goal
As a resident of a rival Texas city, I love the way Francis mispronounces Houston. Keep up the good work!
Francis is officially faster than a golf cart!
I’m sure there is a badge on Strava for that!
Hooray for bonus Lou & Rob & resting with friends content! Justin looks and sounds like he feels a ton better, and you look very happy with the upgrades! A lot to be thankful for! Enjoy your next leg!
Subscribed to Lou. Trailer looks good. Ninja cards...umm...be careful. See you on the Funway 🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
There have been significant crashes with one wheel trailers going downhill at 30 mph+ The guy on the bike brakes, the trailer doesn't so it jackknifes. That's what the 15mph limit is about.
Louuuuu (and Rob)
We’re going to miss you so much! ❤❤
🥰xx
We're going to miss seeing you guys on the videos!
1:47 Justin's "We are not amused" face
I have a Burly flat bed. I use it for hauling gear in and out of the campsite. I believe the weight limit is 100 lbs like their kids trailers. I got the fat bike 3” wide tire wheelset as it is used going up and down a steep gravel hill. I have used it for about six years now and have had in excess of 40 lbs at speeds over 30 mph descending on a rough gravel road. I think you guys chose well, and I wish you all the best!
i used to have a burley trailer for daugher when she was younger which had a similar basis to your new trailer.
It had max speed of 15mph.
As she has got older i use it now for resistance training.
Good luck with your nexy days travel with your new toy.
Justin now has a Danger Ace up his sleeve/bib strap thingy.
Looks like your box of chocolates is coming up roses last couple of days. "Articulate" is such a great word. Looking forward to 30+ kph with a bigger trailer and Justin's mug all gangster.
In America, even the playing cards are weapons!
OK, That cinches it. Golf cart in front of you filming the rest of the ride.
Best of luck on the rest of your journey guys!
thanks Billy great to meet you!
My Burley Bee has the same attaching system and it says these:
Recommended speed limits:
- 15 mph (24 km/h) on smooth, straight roads
- 5 mph (8 km/h) when turning or on uneven roads
Nevertheless, it is probably a liability insurance. Also, since your not pulling a little kid... ¡SPEEEEEED!
❤
Looks like your boy is doing really well with this fundraiser. Hmm I wonder where he learned to be so generous. 😉

Thanks Francis and Justin ....nice new trailer !
OMG!!! I just realized something. I AM ADDICTED TO THIS ROCKUMENTARY! Yes, IT ROCKS! It's the BEST. It's smooth. It's clean. It's an entertainment machine. But...I am already anticipating your arrival in LA and the end of the series. Oh, the misery of it all. 😫😫😫 Please, just continue on and turn this into a Round the World trip. For the love of God. Please crack on after LA. Thank you. 😘
If you are passing through Katy, stop off at Thai Cottage and grab some "Wings of Paradise". Some of the best Thai Chicken wings around. Also some good vegetarian options too.
Good weather here in south Texas just started 30 min ago. I've ridden a lot of miles in the Katy area. Godspeed guys!
Glad the trailer is working okay for you. One extra test I did in a safe place when I first got it was biking close to curbs and over curbs with one wheel just to get a sense for clearance and how it handles if you hit something. It's actually barely wider than my (similarly flared) drops but before you get used to it can be a bit unnerving wondering what happens if you forget about it and clip a curb.
Very nice upgrades, the highlight being the exceedingly useful ninja playing cards, and then perhaps the trailer.
IMO > Air Horn = strong 2nd
Oh cool Upgrades people upgrades
everything is bigger in Texas ... ride safe
I’m so jealous of your life Francis! Everyday is an adventure. Thanks for sharing it all!
Wow, what a nice home they have. Glad you got the new trailer. I love how the chair goes right in.
Glad you have a proper trailer. Ride safe in Texas!
Would be interesting to compare your single wheel with the bob trailer. I like my bob but I can see the Burley one with two wheels is a great bit of kit as well. Lighter? And now you have dog horn ninja cards... you guys will be dog proof... Francis to lure them in and Justin to deliver the coup de grace!
Great new trailer and experience for future or other riders, get 2 wheels and pivot
What a great upgrade! Can't wait to see it in action. Two Christmas beers. Now that's an upgrade. Good luck to you both and take care, Al
Great to see you both healthy and happy! Eat an occasional vegetable please 😃
So happy for you guys!!!!!
Looking forward to your return to the videos, whenever that is :) I am sure Francis will be super happy to see you.
Congrats on the ninja star! Finally some seriousness
If the wheels are interchangable you could try the wheelchair wheels on the trailer, less total weight, less drag
Happy to see you guys got your equipment issues worked out. I can’t wait for the rest of the trip.
Hope the new trailer works out better and good luck for the next leg of the journey guys. You're doing great work!
Love this .. simply awesome 👌
Great update, so glad the new trailer looks like its going to work out amazing.
So nice to see things looking up for you again. Francis looks so happy with the new trailer! Ride well guys!
like a kid in a candy store :)
I have absolutely no need for a bike trailer…….but I kinda would like one of those!
Have a good ride tomorrow and enjoy the ride, the trailer looks great.
Congrats on the new rig!! Looks like it's gonna be a more enjoyable journey. Kudos to the both of you for the effort to raise money and also good job for these awesome videos!!
That trailer looks the business, much better and can carry the wheelchair without dismantling which is perfect. Looks like it can also carry lot more stuff. And you guys rested so should be a good few days.
those blade-cards are SIIICK
***Love your stuff, would love to here Justin’s story, and his thoughts on accessibility in the US vs the UK? ***
Great work guys!! Looking good!
Hope this setup works better! Sure looks much, much easier and smooth riding it.
good to see a proper solution for the trailer - i know it was donated but i guess you get what you pay for....
Sounds like Justin is feeling better, that trailer looks way more stable than the one wheel, good luck with the next phase of the adventure.
I've got a Burley Bee trailer for the kids and it has the exact same articulated connection to the bike--and it's amazing. Compared to another bike trailer I tried previously it's far better to handle, and despite the 15 mph speed limit, you can easily take it 20 mph (No, I didn't have the kids in it) without any real issues in a straight line.
My dog was laying on the floor, sound asleep, while I was watching this. When Justin sounded the air horn, my dog jumped in my lap and barked at the phone. I hope that this is not Justin's experience when he uses the are horn on your travels.
so happy for your upgrade
Your mate has a Ted Lasso AFC Richmond t shirt.. I did a day on that show!
Delighted you got yourself a better trailer and nice to see Justin got himself a breathable mask as for his horn, we’ll say nothing about that, 🤣🤣. Enjoy thanksgiving and look forward to seen you back on the road.
That's a much better trailer, cheers Buxumbox 🍻 👏
3 mins 39: Canny tan line Francis!
3:39 for a direct link :)
@@DC-lu5qs cheers! DC 🍻
@@grahambell9831 pro-tip: if you just type the time in that format, CZcams converts it to a cue in the current video (even if that's not what you wanted lol)
@@DC-lu5qs Thanks DC ! Really appreciate the tech "how to".
Will do next time 👍.
20 days in! Kind of mad, properly hardcore challenge actually 😅
Nice one ! Game changer 😊
Trailer looks soooo much better. Best of luck going forward 👊
So happy you got this sorted out! Was worried that another trailer would be just as bad
Well done guys. Trailer is looking good, looks a little like a kiddy trailer which I have, and other than hills and getting going you wouldn’t know it’s on there. Other than remembering that it’s slightly wider than the bike. 👏👏
Just as a side note - what on earth is this GIGANTIC property you're filming these on? I guess everything is indeed bigger in Texas...
I got a bike trailer. Used to shop for the weekly shop when I had no car. It felt like I had an elastic yoyo going up hill and over powelred the breaks down hill. Good idea that just did not work.😰
Hope this setup holds up!
new trailer looks so fast!

Nice 😁
Good move on the "Metal Playing cards" > the cardboard boxes in New Mexico are ferocious...
Hooston 😅
#Cheers!
The closest we’ve been in a while for being in the same town in a few years. Cheering you guys on
In this bit of Scotland they call them circles as well - confused the hell out of me when I first moved here (not as much as 'going for messages' though!)
Isn’t it a roooonnd abooot😀😀😀. From Scotland also…..
Cool trailer, I just checked it out. Allegedly, it can carry up to 45 kg. That information is not from the official manual, though but from a third party providers webpage.
Around Portland the homeless use wheelchair on their trailers . Usually without tires on them.
🙌
Did you really ask "Why have you bought Ninja star playing cards?" Never a question that needs asking!
👍👍
With the bigger trailer, does that mean that Justin gets to buy the shark truck?
It must be so. Pretty sure they will pass another Target at some point!
+ Justin will need the extra carrying capacity for other "objects of fascination" (ie: weapons) Haha
Your route looks like it will go through Fort Worth. If it does, I would love to escort you two through town. I also would be glad to help you guys, but haven't figured out how to contact you.
Looks like you also fixed Justin's voice. :) Good luck guys.
5:45 Dual-wielding Rob.
Tell you what boys, 2 wheels and 2 straps, a flick of the wrist and that is not going anywhere. I’ll bet my dad on it.
And that’s what pulling a burley should be like….. even with a kid rolling about in the back……
Hoooooston 😂
If the little wheels are the same fitting as the wheel chair wheels, does that mean you could put the wheel chair wheels on the trailer?? Maybe more efficient??
How close will you be to San Antonio?
Hellooo
Hey guys, great series for a great cause. I was wondering if you might be able to do a plug for ends of the Earth cycling. It's a Christian ministry to support youth ministries around the world I'm getting ready to do a ride in March. It's to help fight child trafficking in Southeast Asia. They do many rides and you can look them up on the net.
Why don’t you use the wheelchair wheels on the trailer?
With that black Nike cap Francis it's a bit disappointing you've got no UKG playing in your videos.
No, in America we call them roundabouts.
I have a schmiking bed of nails handcycle
What millionaires your mates are? That area looks like only mansions :D
Hopefully you aren't gonna try and go on the 18 lane highway in katy.....
Whoston?
wear a helmet kids
Yes handbikes are designed by people who are trained in torture
