The pronunciation of “cacio e pepe” isn’t “cakio”, it’s “catchio” 😉

Thanks for the video. We were in Rome two months ago as part of a cruise vacation. We stayed 4 nights but most of our time were at the landmarks. Did not have the chance to shop or try the foods we wanted. We are going back in 2025 and I will try the restaurants.

Roman’s generally use Pecorino, esp on the Cacio e Pepe (pronounced catchio e pepe).

Oh my ears! "Cakio". And it's pecorino in Rome. No wonder Italians roll their eyes.

cacio is the popular way to call pecorino cheese (Sheep cheese) so it's not parmigiano . just black pepper and pecorino cheese

I went to Rome last year and I tried the pasta from trattoria to ristorante. I have to say I did not find them to be good at all. The good one were the one I had at a Ristorante for around 23 euro a plate but I can't justify spending that much for it. I recommend you go to Japan and try Japanese pasta instead. Much much better and cheaper too.

You DON"T need to work on anything. You're not from there, so folks need to get over the fact that your pronunciation isn't perfect. Jeez. Anywho, I appreciate the video and all of your tips. Did you do a food tour of Venice?

I disagree. Yes people shouldn't give them a hard time, but they should teach them and guests in their town should learn how to pronounce things appropriately
