This was one of the mast intensely long projects I've done. My original time frame was to work on this from July to the end of the year but it ended up needing to be cut to the end of October so I could move on to other things! I'm still so happy with how it turned out and hope you guys enjoy it!

Ill be honest Jules, I started playing this game because of how great this album is and I'm so thankful you showed it to me
I similarly played this because of his cover of Daughter of the Dark God. I had no idea what was in store for me.
I played the demo late January and got the full game on the 25th. It's fun and I enjoyed listening to the music because of Jules' covers.

Jules, saying you've outdone yourself with this album is a massive understatement. I can't even imagine the time, effort, brainstorming, and overall passion you must've put into this. Octopath is already easily in the running for my favorite video game soundtrack, and being able to listen to all your renditions on top of the originals has got to be one of favorite things to happen all year!
I'd go into detail with why I love each of these tracks, but that would take forever. So instead, I'll simply say: You done good. Can't wait to see how you top yourself in the future.

I'm sad that I just discovered this game, after the hype had already died (what hype there was). Despite being a year late, this is already my game of the year 2020. Now, if there was a way to mod in these versions of the tracks, game would be litterally perfect!
Agh I feel the same I got the game because it was a gift for my brother. I picked up the game but I was god awful at it and stopped playing only to find a video of the OST like a year later. I thought “Oh shoot I have this game” so I started playing it again, learned the controls and beat it. The journey was amazing and I’m pretty sad it’s not as hyped as it was. @@KTam853 Aww, I was enjoying reading it. You could have kept going. This game brings back fond memories of ye' olde Squaresoft games, but its still modern. And yeah, the music! There are no bad tracks! Only complaint I have is the lack of character interaction. "Travel Banter" seems so inconsequential, just wish it had a bigger part to play in things. But, glad I'm not alone! Who'd you start out with? Olberic for me. :D
scyx I think I originally started with Primrose but I was dumb and couldn’t beat Helgenish. I did everything again but with Ophilia as my protagonist and it all worked out nicely
@@KTam853 Yeah I remember Helgenish being a bit tough. Had Olberic as well when I did it though (I ship those two, heh heh), so got through it. Just starting everyone's chapter 4 now. Loving every minute!
I’m the same!!! I remember playing the demo when it came out, and I knew that I wanted to play this game, but it wasn’t until a few months ago that I finally had the time and money to get it. Unfortunately, this semester was kind of stressful so I stopped for a while, but the discover of this album brought me back into playing it! I’m am now currently hooked and just finished everyone’s Chapter 2’s!
I always listen to this when I study, and this is a great masterpiece

I just want to say, the version of Olberic's theme you've made is really good, which is why I would like to add it to a youtube playlist... which is impossible, because the single video version of it you've uploaded on youtube is not actually "Olberic, the warrior" but another piece that you've made (being My quiet forest home) which you've mistitled as "Olberic, the warrior". I know this won't get through, because it's been 3 whole years since this album has been released, but I still wanted to point it out, because nobody did.

The percussion on the intro of the primrose cover is just fantastic, spot on.
I got this from Xbox game pass, just installed it on a whim. Played it through to the end with Therion as starter. Gotta say, this game scratched a Jrpg itch I hadn't had for a long, long time. The original soundtrack is phenomenal and never ceases to hype me up.
Your rendition expresses the amount of feeling I hold for this game as it is obvious just how much effort you put into making this; it really shows in the music's quality.
This album cover is truly special. Every piece has so much emotion, it is honestly moving and this listener appreciates it.

I told myself I was going to hold off on listening to this album until I had finished the entire game. After an entire year of playing, I have finally finished everything in Octopath Traveler and it is now my favourite game of all time. Absolutely perfect. And so is this album. Excellent work, Jules.

So, I'm a HUGE fan of you and Toxic, and I have a whole playlist of some of my favorite covers. Your "Dark Caverns" cover was really awesome. I had heard of Octopath Traveler before, but I didn't know much about it. I listened to the cover anyway because it was BOTH of you, and I was blown away. That's still one of my favorites. So I decided that since that one was so good, I'd come check out this album, and holy crap. I'm only on like the 3rd song and I'm loving this so far! Octopath Traveler will now be one of the first games I get as soon as I save up for a Switch. I'm intrigued. Keep rockin' dude!!!

Anyway, yeah these metal arrangements are great. They stay true to the soundtrack itself but also give it an edge. It’s a must buy.
