MPN Hero Marilyn Kay Edwards: Advocating Like a CHAMPN

As a quilt maker and former teacher living with myelofibrosis (MF), MPN Hero Marilyn Kay Edwards believes in the power of stitching together a connection with others. Her MF journey showed her how helpful it can be to talk with another person living with the same rare, chronic blood cancer. After her diagnosis, Marilyn joined a local MF support group. But she was truly inspired by the patient advocate she connected with through the Voices of MPN CHAMPN Program. Eventually, in what she describes as a full circle payback to her mentor, Marilyn became a patient advocate herself through the CHAMPN Program. Now she is a recognized MPN Hero because her dedication as a CHAMPN brings strength, connection, and support to others living with MF.
