He broke up with me just before the 4th. We were supposed to ride our bikes down town and watch the fireworks. I knew better than to get back with him but I believed his lies and apologies yet again. He’s the worst person I’ve ever known.
We went to Bass Pro Shops. There was a big fish tank with fish in it. I was enchanted. I love to watch fish. I turned to him excitedly and said “Hey, do you want to go to the aquarium together some time?” He scoffed and said “Not really.” And he walked away from me. The smile melted from my face.
Later on he told me that we are just roommates and he isn’t sure he actually wants a divorce but he’s sure he doesn’t want to spend time with or put any effort into me.
I am happy to say I recently had my 1 year no contact anniversary. I have purposely tried to do different things than what I used to do with the narc. Yes, he ruined every 4th of July, big time.
For some reason, as much as I try to put it out of my mind I am having flashbacks about the narc and the ruined 4th of July l’s. Can you explain l, give me insight why and how I can get it to stop?
I do not miss or in any way want to encounter the narc ever again. Thank you good video

Yep…100%…every holiday and when he needs attention and doesn’t feel in control. My husband is all of what you describe…he is the poster child for narcissism. All manipulation and control.

Same. Today literally while he was shoving me around, because I did not want to engage in a conversation with him pretending things are ok, he says he loves me. while shoving me around because I was trying to get away from him. Happy 4th.
