- Wading through the cool clear creek on a summer day is about as good as it gets, but when the bass are aggressive and you're catching a bunch of fish it's even better!!

I love that you're like, "Oh crap there's wires in the water, and that makes me nervous." "Oh look, a bass next to the wire I'm gonna go for it."
😂😂
Of course the Bass are gong to hang out at the power line 🤷🏼♂️😂😂🎣
Creek fishing is the best, I caught some giant bluegill today for my pond
always good to hear about people taking public fish for their private ponds, took part in a bust of two individuals using throw nets at local public ponds/parks for bluegill and then selling these to land owners with private ponds. this is stealing from all of us.
Ironic name😂
Nice to see you take your old string with you. A lot of people just don't know how to get rid of their old string, it helps the fish and the water ways. Just wanted to say thanks again for being a real friend of the environment!!
Only dumb asses leave line and rubbish on our water way s
Most of us who fish regularly will always take our string and trash with us. The ones who don't are not real fisherman they are litter bugs.
Glad that plopper worked out for you. The spectre gill is one of my favorite patterns.
It looks so good
Interested in how I can purchase lures you sell.
It amazes me the amount fish in those creeks you fish. The water is so shallow.
Tiny little creek bass are just as much fun to catch as that six pounder at the lake and every now and again when you get that 5-6 pounder out of the creek, it’s a undescribable feeling lol for every 5 pound bass in the creek there’s 10,000 in the lake. Big bass out of small unstocked water is next level in the game.
I have watched so many of your videos and I'm still amazed by your casting accuracy, especially in tight conditions!
If I had a buck for every time I was in the creek without pliers fishing with trebles I’d be in a boat hahaha
And we’re done! 😂😂😂 Been there done that…..
What an awesome place. Thanks for sharing. Fish On!!!
That reel sounds like it's headed for retirement 👍
This dude is the Chuck Norris of Creek fishing...
The first was a common water snake. 2nd one was cotton mouth/water moccasin. You are fine as long as you let the poisonous ones do they're thing and move along.
26:00 why I never made the move to casting gear, and stick with the shortcomings of spin gear...
If I can't catch a fish with spinning gear I won't be catching fish!👍
Another great video man! Good to see you using the BFS again I’ve been using mine a lot lately for small whopper plopper style baits and it works really well.
I wish so bad I could find creeks like this easily. I’m in East Tennessee and I’m always so jealous you find creeks like this!
Pretty sweet buddy, I tore em up in the creek/river near my house yesterday with a senko worm, landed 7 or 8 and missed about a dozen lol, pretty decent bass too, Thanks For Sharing, Good Luck🎣
I know... everybody wants to yank the rod when you see a topwater explosion! If you get in the habit of not watching your lure and waiting to feel something, and set the hook by feel your hookup ratio will be much better😅. And I'm sure the more you fish that BFS system the more you will love it❤!!!
7:06 Awesome bluegill
18.17 the reason i only use spinning reels nowadays. i had a few baitcadters but always ernt back to the worm rig on my spinning outfit
I bet a good sized fish flashed that snake. Years ago, I used to fish this swamp. Normally I don't keep bass, but I kept one to eat, and when I cleaned it, it had what was left of a snake in its stomach.
That hybrid you caught was beautiful.
Watching from an old cabin built in 1947 in northern Michigan. Black flies are bad if no wind yikes!!!! Been fishing with little success, maybe the heat and the water is cloudy hopefully it gets better. GREAT VID👍
These are my favorite types of videos from you. Thanks, you’re a blessing!
Everything about this video is a W!!! How did you get so accurate with casting the BFS rod!!?? And LOVE the Galatians scripture!! 🔥🎣
I have that EXACT one! The back rotating tail is perfect.
going to have to get me one of those lures
Excellent!!! With top water baits I have to constantly think before I cast. If something blows up on the bait you need to drop your rod tip then crank the reel a couple of times then set the hook...works for me. I don't know what startled that snake but it turned and headed in the other direction. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day!
I could watch you fish all day everyday John. Great video🐟🎣🐟🎣
Annnnnnd we are done…..😂 awesome creek fishing trip.
it was a great ending of a great day wading
Brother thank you for these creek river adventures amazing what you can find out of them! Tight lines take care and God bless
Your the best. Videos are my source of therapy
11:13 That redbreast had a fivehead lol. Big healthy fish.
Always impressed with your casting skills.
LETS GOOOO GOTTA LOVE A NEW CREEK VIDDDD (i've watched every video for the last 5 months I've never been let down their all amazing 😂)
My Zephyr reel does the same thing, I'll try some of the suggestions here. Plus, my rule of thumb for topwater hits is "wait for weight". When you feel weight in your rod set the hook. Great video!
Great video thank you
Nice to see more BFS videos keep it up🎉
Looks like the cricks I get to fish when I Can them fish them. The surprise fish are the best. Catching sunfish one minute The next minute 13 or 14 inch bass, you gotta love it.
Man, I’ve got a kastking Spartan and a Piscifun carbon, I can’t use less than 8 lb line on them without them sucking that line in the side of the spool, it helps ALOT if you leave a 1/4 spool showing when you fill it, but they have sloppy tolerance
A beautiful stream
Great video and great fishing John! Oh wow and glad you are okay, when you say there wires in the water.. I hope all is well. Have a good day and week.
I catch some big skinny water fish on the whopper 60 too. Good work 🤙🏽
That was a fun video. That issue with the BFS reel/line would wear on me pretty good. Still trying to get the hang of the casting mechanics here, been a spinning reel guy since I was a little ‘un. And now I’m old 😆
I’m 55 and learning too. Stick with it, I’m starting to prefer it. Tight lines!
Walking a creek is my favorite thing in summer to do in TN
Another great video John!
About the reel, yeah that’s one of the downfalls of that reel. The only way to overcome the line going in behind is use thicker line. I have one of those rigged but I prefer my 2 Darkwolf Ultra reels. About 70 bucks and cast as good as possible with the lightest of lures. Even the trout magnet is possible with a light braid.
I have the same reel and had the same issue, tightening the spool tensioner just enough that the spool doesn’t slide side to side fixed it and hasn’t had that issue since.
Good verse at end☦️🇺🇸
Cool video. Nice catches for the ol creek. Yeah, you pretty much creek fishing anywhere right now, especially in GA,without seeing Mr.No shoulders..
Yeah baby! Topwater! A suggestion.. keep your batteries in a ziplock in a cooler before you load your camera. Then put an ice pack in your tackle pack with your extra batteries.. that should help with the over heating.🤙
Unsure about the 1st snake, but it was most likely a regular watersnake. The 2nd was definitely a Cottonmouth. They float on top of the water where the other non venomous tend to swim under water with their heads out.
Nice! Surprised the sunfish hit that "bass" lurer. 👍
Daddy Jeff is a pond prowler
Would love to see a smaller, true UL version. I’ve always wanted to make a really tiny buzz bait with a tungsten head to make it even more compact.
i use that same reel, the anything 6lb and below is prone to do that to you alot on the spool. I found that 8lb braid to a 2-6lb mono leader works well.
Big bass out of small unstocked water is next level in the game.
Can't wait to catch those Redbreast Sunfish when I come to your area next month!!!! Wish we had them here in Nashville
That first snake did'nt look like a cottonmouth but i dont know for sure. The second one was probably a cottonmouth but i'm not 100 percent on that.
Hate to say it...but Ole John runs into more Snakes, than I do Women!🤪😜🤪😜
Fish or no fish, your casting skills are impressive!
Those bigger bass be like, “Wait a second! I recognize then that guy off in the distance. I ain’t bitin’ that!”
If I caught fish on a hellgramite that consistently i might never use anything else
That's another good one buddy. You and Ethan Fish Anything make me want to give BFS a try. I love stalking through the creeks and casting til my hearts content taking it all in. I know I'm an old dog learning new tricks but not topwater. The hardest part of it is counting 1 Mississippi in your head after seeing the strike then pulling back to set the hook. Many times the fish set the hook themselves and I'm just along for the ride. Blessings brother
If you try BFS stay away from that kastking reel its not very good.
I have the same reels and when I used mono the line would do the same thing that happend to you. I switched to 10lb braid and used a 6lb leader and have not had a issue since. Hope that helps. Love the videos keep up the good work
Change out the hooks on ur minnow bait, I switch mine out with either Gamagatsu or Owner hooks and rarely miss a fish.
Great vids brother, love creek fishing.
In that environment I would get snagged every other cast. Accuracy goals!
Just watched your “first baitcaster video” back from 2020. think we could get a beginner baitcaster video now Mr. Johnnnn 😅 pleaseee lol
Love it! Love the combo you are using, wanna find one like that to handle light lines, what is it?
Great video. Some nice catches. The reason the line is getting past the spool into the side plates is you have to much line on the reel. Try only putting about 50-60 meters of line on the reel should help keep that from happening.
The 1st snake looked just like a harmless water snake. They usually swim under water and hide under rocks. The 2nd snake was definitely a cottonmouth. They swim on top of the water.
Searched the comments for a while and just saw another comment on the same thing immediately after posting this. 🤦🏼♂️
19:50 East Tennessee doesn’t have water moccasins, the middle Tennessee one could’ve been just depends on where in middle Tennessee it was.
the last sigh from the birdsnest made me laugh out loud. I can't figure baitcasters out.
Awesome crk awesome video
I don’t think I’ve tried top water in a creek, need to give it a go :)
I love these wading videos. Is that four pound braid you have on that reel? If so you are a brave man. It is so easy for braid that small to creep over the edge of the spool. I thought most all of those ultra light bait casters had a quick release side plate to enable you to just pop the spool out.
John id really love to see you try the Geecrack bellows gill! They make a 2 and 2.8 inch that I’m curious to see whether or not would do good in the creeks you fish. They’re on tackle warehouse
John the Zephyr is known for the line going behind the spool. That’s why it is better to use the Japanese braid in .6 goh and only crank the handle on the reel about 55 times and do not put any more line than that on it. And the amount of cranks is about 125 feet of line. Hope this helps.
*Um... about 3 cranks of the* reel and you had a fish on 🤣! You gotta love creek fishing with a topwater lure. That's one thing people don't talk about is how fishing a floating lure can make it easy to fish shallow water. Especially if there's gunk on the bottom.
I'm late to watching this video, l love watching your videos on Saturday mornings, it was a great time on the water, was wondering do you get a lot of ticks & spiders walking down those streams? 👍🎣
My 30 years of bait casting, I never used less than 6 lb., but usually 8-10 lb for the entire summer.
Didn’t worry about the electricity wires it actually helps I hear fish like current because it keeps them cool and boost oxygen
Lol this is good tho keep it up
Have you tried using a bigger battery with a cable ran to your GoPro? Only way I can really do it when it gets hot out.
You got that spool gto full.
That is why I don't like straight mono or fluorocarbon, the backlash is terrible. Braid is WAY easier to fix! Just use a leader and this is it. Also, you mentioned being bad on topwater. I looked at your left hand, and it seemed that you are retrieving the lure to fast. Maybe try to work more the tip and with the lure in the same spot, withouth retrieving a lot. Nice catches!!!
U know all u need is some crappie tubs and save ur money... I been catching Brooke trout in the creek s in Alabama this June
Cool video
That 6lb mono should not be getting stuck in the spool/frame gap...it is doing that because of poor manufacturing tolerances. A quality BFS reel will be able to contain even 6-8 lb braid, which is less than 2lb mono diameter, within the design of the spool and frame enclosure.
Thanks for the video, always a pleasure to watch your adventures.
I got some whopper ploppers off Amazon, but wasn’t a size on the case they came in. Is there anyway to tell? Great video John. Thanks for sharing a great adventure
Is mono best for topwater or can I use braid? Will fish shy away from braid?
First snake I think was a watersnake second one looked like a moccasin though
What combo are you using?
Time to sort thru the extra reel box and dig out a new reel .
Upper 80s😂😂 must be nice.. it's 95 real feel 105 down here 50% humidity 😂😂
I use 8 pound on mine and it doesn’t slip off in there. Anything under 8 will get between the frame and spool though.
The first snake was a water snake. The second one, however, was a huge water moccasin. No moccasins on the east side of plateau. Middle Tn to west, definitely have moccasins.
they definitely are in east tn, thats where that one was
@@CreekFishingAdventures What area was it? According to TWRA, there has never been a moccasin record on the east side of the plateau.
@@thedoublejs4957 maybe i need to look into that, the scared snake video was from Bradley county
commenting from work account for the algorithm!
haha, we will trick that ole algorithm
Where can one purchase the Pond Predator lure you were using? Thanx!
Hey can you help me with how to cast as well and accurately as you do, I keep getting bird nests. Is it my drag? If so how do you set your drag
An old guide taught me on top water to wait until I feel the weight of the fish. It is hard to do.
You should go to Elkhorn Creek in Frankfort ky
Thar are big fish and thar are rock bass
Nice
