Your skills at improvisation are unique . I am stunned at the simplicity of the design and how you approach a problem of shelter using such a basically light weight , durable organic compound .
When you were constructing the load bearing struts I was imagining how easy it would be to incorporate this system to block wind at a camp site , so much better than say a tarpaulin and ultimately recyclable after use .
People who have not studied organic chemistry are unqualified to judge this method . They bother and attribute speculative arguments about possible people they don't know , doing things in forests they have no proof of .
Your concept is sound , and much more capable at resisting the forces of nature by working with them .
Very intrigued by this and by reading the comments too .

In truth if we got down to the nitty gritty , the earth is essentially a closed system . We just form the ingredient s into different molecular bonds using organic chemistry . The polymers in the cling film came from somewhere on the earth and were just spun into a clear rolled sheet . But on the whole nothing has changed . That it sits in a forest is no different than if it sits in a cupboard for five years or in a landfill .
Choosing to say oh here it is in a forest or now you have inspired someone to leave it in a forest still won't change it either . Polymers are as natural as zinc , as natural as lead , sulphur , orange skins , banana peels . . The only difference is perhaps they are man made .
You breath in so many butterfly wings and moth feathers , skin particles .
