  • Now that you can get aftermarket dash kits for the F-150, I decided to have Five Star Car Stereo upgrade my 4-inch Sync2 system wth a Pioneer AVIC-W8500NEX. And while we were at it, we upgraded the factory speakers as well.

Great vid! So I’m considering getting the w8500. Are you still liking this receiver for use with Apple Carplay? Pros & Cons? Also was wondering if you can use the screen with gloves on? Lastly how’s that pioneer camera? Is really clear during the day & night? Thanks for the feedback.

Crutchfield is saying this receiver is too deep. Did they have to remove the silver bracket to get more clearance?

Great video but just wondering before I buy this unit some of the newer ones have safety screen that pop ups before you can use the receiver does this one do that or does it go away on its own?

You can get this radio now for about $700 and you can get the newer version - the pioneer avic-w8600nex - for $1,000.
