  • 2 years ago… 2 years ago I went under the knife, and probably a saw, for a surgical operation that changed my life forever. I had a benign tumor the size of a golf ball removed from my brain. The surgery left me paralyzed on the left side of my body from the neck down. This adverse reaction to the surgery is known as Supplementary Motor Area Syndrome. While this paralyzation was only temporary, it is something I am still recovering from to this day and may never fully recover from. That being said, this June I am taking on the hardest endurance endeavor that I have ever done, the ARNA Westfjords Way Challenge! This is a 600 mile, 5 day gravel stage race around the Westfjords of Iceland.
It was emotional working on this video knowing that some of these intimate moments would be out there for all to see. Every time I sat down to edit this video together my heart rate elevated… I am grateful to be where I am at in my recovery. I am now much stronger in certain ways, but still much weaker in others.
Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way and who will continue to do so on my quest to be 100% in the future.
