    I recently visited Georgia Southwestern University to cruise around on my Dinghy. It was going well until I was stopped by a security guy. He told me there was a zero tolerance policy on all skateboards, shooters, or anything like it. I was like, what?! Be thankful you can ride on campus! Love your videos, by the way!

      A skateboard is a vehicle, you can ride it anywhere you can drive a car. Perhaps you can't ride it on sidewalks on private property like a college, but if they have roads that are open to the public then you're fine.

    Nice! I love both my Cruiser and my LB, the cruiser is great in the city but more challenging for a beginner like me (3 falls so far). The longboard however feels like home, know what I mean? Love your work!

    A wrench in the debate that I have found great success with at my college (curbs aren't common) are "short drop throughs." I've been using the Arbor Zeppelin (32x9) for the past few months and its been a blast. The 65mm wheels are a solid size and the deck size allows me similar maneuverability to my Dinghy Blunt but is lower and has full size trucks. Looking back, I wish I had gotten the LY Drop Cat 33 (33x9.6) since its wider and has larger wheels (72mm). The Zeppelin and similar boards are overlooked and worth the attention of other college skaters if you're stuck between cruisers or a longboard.

      Heck yeah! Ive had my kitty for a month, a tip is to flip the front washer and have the back truck a bit tighter than the front one, makes it turn more in the front and a bit more stable. It made mine feel really good ^^

    There's a middle ground: 32" or 33" drop-through longboards. Small, relatively light and maneuverable, with the extra-big wheels typical of longboards. No kick tail for tricks or kick turns, but that's a tiny price to pay for something small, fast, comfortable, and that can go over most terrain easily.

    • @LarsLarsen77
      @LarsLarsen77 Před 3 měsíci

      That's what I use. I neeeeeed big 120mm wheels to survive the wasteland that is the california road network. They don't repave at all they just steal the money.

    • @SO-ym3zs
      @SO-ym3zs Před 3 měsíci

      @@LarsLarsen77 Big, soft wheels are your friend. They give you a fighting chance to go over rough roads, and on smooth surfaces, they just fly.

    Hi Ogden. Just started boarding and I’m really loving it. You’ve helped me a ton so thanks for that. But I was wondering about an issue I’m having with my board. My board is really hard to pop up. The nose and tail are completely flat. Is there a workaround to this, something I can attach to make it easy to pop or do I gotta get a new board? I’ve got a drop deck but idk if that makes a difference. Anything would be helpful. Love the vids man!!

  • @IsaacFlores-ou2rc
    @IsaacFlores-ou2rc Před 3 lety +2

    Cruisers are really a awful unless you're doing bowl skating. They have no room to do fun stuff, they're uncomfortable compared to longboards and they can't go high speeds. The only reason you should get a cruiser is if you're riding bowls. Plus longboards can do slides easier.

    • @michaelhamill156
      @michaelhamill156 Před 3 lety +2

      Untrue - I've been rocking a LY Dinghy for the past two years and it's just a totally different experience to my Drop Hammer. For example, the kicktail of a cruiser just gives it a whole different dimension of maneuverability (kickturns) plus the small size allows for easier sliding/pumping/other techniques at lower speeds. I love both my boards equally for different reasons.

    • @IsaacFlores-ou2rc
      @IsaacFlores-ou2rc Před 3 lety

      @@michaelhamill156 the height of a cruiser makes it very grippy and makes it harder to slide, and they're easy to topple over. Of course you can master anything through trial and error, but when it comes down to it longboards are better for everything.
      For a cruiser replacement I would recommend the loaded omakase because the tail is fun to play with, and the size is very comfortable.
      No hate but I just don't really like cruisers lol.

    • @animalfinatic9366
      @animalfinatic9366 Před rokem

      @@IsaacFlores-ou2rc Longboards aren't better for "everything", there's different boards for a reason. Skateboards are tailored for extreme tricks, longboards are good for smooth roads traveling long distance, and cruisers are meant.....to well, cruise, hence cruiserboard. So unless you intend to compare apples and oranges, it all comes down to the person and what they want.

    Hey I have a question is a drop through good for downhill and does loose trucks or tight trucks fo faster

    • @lightningturnip4724
      @lightningturnip4724 Před 2 lety

      Drop thru deck is lower to the ground and feels more stable, I prefer them to a top mount. Truck tightness won’t really effect speed but it will affect stability, at higher speeds you may want your trucks tighter, to reduce dem wobbles
