      It’s literally a sanding block. You can buy them in hardware stores in various grits. This one looked like 80.

      I use them to finish sanding wood turnings because they conform to shapes really well. Harbor Freight sells them by the bag in different grits.

      The garlic slicer press was the same brand and color scheme of the potato ricer, so I think those were the products that came together

    Emery paper is aluminum oxide (heavy duty) sand paper on cloth used for smoothing steel cutting in manufacturing after filing.
    i wouldn't use it in the kitchen. it will damage your surface. Only maybe for heavy oxidization on non food surfaces. it will strip off your coating like Teflon from pots/pans and scratch the surface leaving a place for food to stick and culture bacteria.

      Yes your are right I actually just used emery for lightly cleaning up cam and crank shafts when rebuilding an engine. Just a different type of sand a paper essentially. You can literally see the non stick coating coming off the pan he was scrubbing. 😂

    The Emery sponge is just sandpaper, We use them in the UK as flexible sanding blocks or foam sanding blocks.

    We use the Emery sponges in silver smithing. We use it to take off burs in the metal.
    Also
    If I were a tiny kid those coasters would be confiscated immediately for the greater good of feeding my dolls. As plates with attached bowls for soup...

    Those gadgets with multiple interchangeable parts should be color coded.
    That sponge was for stainless steel, titanium and cast iron.
    You just removed the teflon of your pan/tray.

    Use the blow torch thingy to heat and strip paint. It diffuses the flame to a wider area. When using the potato ricer my mom would still cut them into smaller pieces first.
