4. The Smith Douglas Homeowner Orientation

Now your home is nearly ready for you to close and make your move! With one week remaining prior to closing on your new home, you'll have your New Homeowner Orientation meeting with your Construction Manager, scheduled about 3-4 weeks ahead. This appointment will need to happen on a specific day to ensure your new home is ready on closing day.
Your home has now undergone all Smith Douglas Homes Inspections and your home will have passed all local inspections. A certificate of occupancy will be issued.
At this meeting your construction manager will review your selections and options and ensure these are all included properly in your home. This will be your opportunity to identify any cosmetic issues that you might like to have addressed.
We'll discuss what you might expect in your new home within your first year. We'll show you how to care for your new construction home. This is a time to spend a few hours around your home and learn what you'll need to know once you are a homeowner to maintain your home. For your best interest, it is Smith Douglas Homes policy to not close on any home that has outstanding or unfinished items. We say this to underline the importance of your Homeowner Orientation Meeting.
