- Welcome back to the channel.
We spent an awesomely horrific 2 nights hiking 20.6 miles up to 7402ft above sea level to the amazing Blue Mountain Peak, Jamaica.
It is the highest point in Jamaica and the second highest point in the Caribbean.
We stopped at the Portland Gap where we camped for the night; it was the coldest and most uncomfortable night of my life.
It was long and took a massive toll on my body but the views were worth it.
It was definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity and I took.

That was the LONG hike though. There is a SHORT hike, which starts almost at Jacobs Ladder. That means you drive up thru the community to Penlyne Castle, then hike from there. It's a different experience altogether. Try it.

looking for a little help a group of 4 want to take on this hike, but I am not sure where to even start. Where did you park to begin the hike? Where the breakaway was? what is the name of that place? Also where the bus let you off what is the name of that place? How much did the tour guide cost? Where there are intersections do they have signs so we don't get lost?

I enjoyed this trip. I remembered my trip to the Blue Mountain Peak where I had similar experiences except for the camping bag. This hiking experience is truly a must have, even if it is just once. I think at least one trip will suffice for a lifetime. Nevertheless, the value of such an experience is irreplaceable. Indeed, it was truly worth the effort taking that hike to Jamaica's highest point!
I totally agree...it is a once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend it for everyone! It is hard but totally worth it
What time did u head out to start the hike and where was your starting point? What time did u get to Portland gap? How cold was it?
We started at the Hagley gap, I believe I placed time stamps on the video though for the time of the day

Watching this reminded me of my trip in 2018. Just that you camped overnight and reached the peak. It was a 1day trip and I came damn close to the peak but turned back cuz it was getting late.
Honestly, for me to do that s*** again, mi haffi lose some weight and improve mi stamina. Worse if its another 1day trip.
At least you can double cross it off the list.

I did the hike from Whitfield Hall to the peak in 2000. We started at 2am and topped out shortly after sunrise. Sadly the clouds were so thick that there wasn’t any view to speak of. It was cold and windy and miserable, but I wouldn’t trade the experience for ANYTHING! My wife (who is 63) just watched this video and expressed the desire to try this hike. My answer was “See you when you get back!” LOL
