It makes a lot of sense Zoey is so narcissistic. She grew up very rich and upper class, she lowkey thinks sheâs better đ€·đœââïž
I think maybe she wants character growth because those aren't traits we want to attach to our characters
Also the way her father always put her on a pedestal and saying she was his favorite ALL THE TIME didnâthelp
Sis, she high key thinks sheâs better
High key
how does she think sheâs better ?
Is it me or did Zoey and Luca even have chemistry?
No...i don't think they did. I think they just had the same classes.
HAHAHAHA
Yes. I've been saying that. Also, I think Aaron and Ana are better than Zoey and Aaron
@@kayikunmi Right! I feel like they are trying to throw men at Zoey. Let her be single!
Jacourtney SaidSomeThings Lmao đ€Ł
They had chemistry
Class together I bet
The episode where Nomi dates the bisexual man in season 1 was just...đ. The resolution was nomi saying SHE can be a bisexual but canât date a man who has been with men and breaks up with him. And thatâs it. I was like...HUH???
no one really called her out for it!
They donât confront it AT ALL n that was the hugest red flag about the writing n itâs purpose. At least in Insecure we saw how foolish Molly was for treating Jared!
I wholeheartedly agree with all of yâall! That was part of when I knew this show wasnât about to be as âwokeâ as it continued to claim itself to be.
Thanks for reminding me cuz I COMPLETELY forgot about that I thought they definitely was going to comeback to it but they didnât and that shit is actually damaging to a lot of bi people who already face such a stigma that was a perfect time to confront it but they didnât
I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THAT!!
Junior needs a series. Heâs the character we want to see glow up thoroughly. Heâs so complex and endearing. I couldnât get into Grownish at all. Zoey is stuck in a sense of over-privilege and entitlement that never seems to die. Diane needs a trilogy. Diane is literally on some next level, next century game.
Hazel Green Eyes watch her absolutely get one, she just turned 16!
D G I hate how they portray Junior now, kinda dumb or a clown I mean heâs always been comedic relief but he was ORIGINALLY a huge nerd and like the textbook smart and socially awkward kid. When Black-ish originally were gonna send Junior to an HBCU I thought that was gonna be GREAT character development for him and that wouldâve definitely had some good story lines for an actual good college-age spin-off. But for some reason, they turned him into an underachiever and I really think they fumbled a good plot-driven bag :/
Brittany Thomas I agree with you. Heâs so devalued by his own dad and he is incredibly book smart. Heâs constantly the âbutt of the joke.â They had a huge opportunity for his glow up in an environment heâs not used to and they chose not to explore it. We could have seen a whole episode on him trying to find the girl who told him off while he was touring Howard.
Jessica I was definitely waiting for a love story arc with the random girl from Howard lol
YES
I was a little disappointed that they didnât permanently move âJuniorâ to this show
Good idea! I would love to see his evolution into manhood.
Especially since he's a more likable character than Zoey đŹ
@@maggiedk Barely lool. His shrieking and jokes always fall flat. The only likeable characters are the twins :'(
@@micahm2177 i could totally see Dianne with her own show. Especially since Marceille martin working so hard in Hollywood. Or even both the twins
facts like Dre always picks on him but he loves him like Junior is of age he fits with the cast
i always thought the show was so unrealistic too like,,,,how did zoe snag an internship at vogue her freshman year???? it really doesnât make sense
On Black-ish she got some sponsors for her makeup channel with the help of her father. Maybe that helped her.
Nepotism
Yuki James LOL that whole concept was a total HEAD-SCRATCHER
How can they afford these nice houses & apartments?! In california no less?!
LOOOOOL It's easier than you think and she's not getting paid.
But can we talk about how Nomi had more âexoticâ hairstyles than the black characters... yet, Vivek was the center of the appropriation discussion đ€
đ...points were made with this comment.
thank you!!!!
right
They did vivek so bad on the show
@@mushy470 RIGHTT??!?! As a brown person, specifically Indian, I was so exited to see a good looking brown guy in the show. But then they made him into this sex obsessed virgin that can never pull a girl, juts like every other South Asian character ever. Vivek is literally the older and more "western: version of Ravi from Jessie.
Zooey is the worst character ever. In real life, she would not have friends, but groupies. When she opened the last season and her roommates were throwing a party, the first thing she asked, "Is this for me?" WHAT!?!?? Then she dressed as Beyonce and everyone else was dressed as a background dancer. It was horrible.
This has always made me wonder lol. In a group of friends, I would never dress as someoneâs backup or addition- they seem like theyâre strong individuals but they dress as Zoeâs plus ones?? Hilarious.
I think this is the greatest comment Iâve seen on here. I hated when they dressed her âfriendsâ as back up dancers, it made me cringe.
Yeah like this was just insane
I donât think sheâs a horrible person and I think she needs more character development in the sense of her selfishness
Now that you mentioned she would have groupies kinda makes me wonder if thatâs what the other characters are since she might have the money and the pull through her family.
Girl you ainât even talk about how Jazz literally spit in Zoeys drink at the end of that argument episode and they STILL remained friends. In WHAT world????? There are SO many people on a college campus they could easilyyyyyyy find new friends... itâs just not realisticcccc, very high school
Logical sense wow Iâm going into 12 grade next year
oh please! do u know how many stupid fights I have had with my friends?
To be fair, college is just an extension of high school with dorms. Ppl in college are only just a couple of years removed from high school.
Logical sense like seriously. Youâre still as immature as you was in high school but just with way more access.
when zoey told ana that shes just a girl she lives w............. son
Zoey didn't have much of an arc on Black-ish, so I'm not sure why they decided to do a spin off with her. Junior or even Diane would be wayy better!!
I think they knew Yara had more âstar powerâ and following for a show. I remember her getting more attention for her politics around that time
Because according to Kenya Barris, he wanted to develop Zoey's character more(which they never did smh) and to copy off of A Different World.
Eileen Tierney Thatâs what I thought too, she was gaining positive influence in real life which she deserves bc Yara is smart but her character paleâs in comparison to Juniorâs character imo. Blackish perfectly set him up to attend an HBCU with his socially awkward privileged ass and he was coming more into his Blackness in the show and I thought a spin-off of Junior wouldâve actually been entertaining tbh
Brittany Thomas i agree, they put no effort into Zoeâs character. I thought theyâd make her experience real life and then start maturing but nope đ
True. But she deserved a spinoff cuz she went off to college and it wud be cool to see her grow up and follow her up on but that turned out wrong. But sometimes writers, need to be fired.
Zoey be lookin like a mess fr. Raven Baxter walked so Zoey Johnson could... crawl backwardsđ
Not crawl backwards

Ryan Destiny Was DEFINITELY Planted To Address The Colorism Criticism They Were Receiving Regarding It. Sheâs Beautiful And Deserves More. Iâm Just Glad They Didnât Go With The Loud Angry Ghetto Problematic Rhetoric They Like To Push On Some Shows, They Knew We Wouldâve Had Their Heads
Her character development was trash tbhhhh just threw her in and she barely was in the last season letâs hope it gets better
Yes but Iâm still disappointed bc you can tell thatâs exactly what they are doing. They give her like 5 scenes the whole season. No character development at all. Whatâs the point? You can tell they didnât want to add a dark skin person.
Why do you type like that? You start every word with a capital letter, why?
and they made her and zoey good friends y'all omg
Yea, she definitely feels thrown in. She good for now, but theyâre gonna have to give me more as far as a relatable dark-skin girl goes.
Anna is a white Cuban. There are many White Cubans especially in Florida who are republican.
I don't that's surprising, as much as it is this was her group of close friends for so much of college
As a white Cuban, let me certify this comment is correct! Personally not a republican but lots of family and friends family are White Cuban Republicans. I understand their reasons. Not to get political haha
Ew
Yeah, the white hispanic community really is..... kinda đ©đ·đ sometimes
Just wanted to point out that the reason why Anna is a Republican makes a lot of sense when you consider she is Cuban. Coming from a communist country, when Cubans immigrate to America they support the party opposite their previous circumstances. From their perspective, every progressive/liberal policy the left passes through legislation brings America is one step closer to socialism and eventually communism - something they fear above all else given it's iteration in Cuba. To them it's not so much about being for the right but rather against the left. I don't necessarily agree with their position but I feel that it's important for us that to remember that people are ultimately products of their environments đ€·đœââïž @@ThreePinkButtons you can correct me if I'm wrong :)
Don't forget about the colorism episode where Jazz and Skye were talking about how hard it was to date, etc as "dark skinned" Black women. "S1E10: It's hard out here for a pimp" I was in disbelief because Chloe and Halle (Jazz and Skye) are both lighter complected Black women and wouldn't be considered dark skinned by American standards even on their tannest day.
Brown Beauty And they dragged that random dark skin girl at the end, and she didnât even speak! đ
Chloe & Halle arenât even brownskin. Theyâre just as light as Yara. That episode was so stupid.
Sophia Arias what no theyâre not they are definitely brown skin theyâre not light skin but theyâre very close to being light skin I donât think they should have been the people to complain about it because they really arenât that dark but they still are definitely not light skins but I think the only light skin was Luka and then the most of them were brown skin and very close to being light skin
That colorism episode was trash
I don't think they're that light skinned
I feel like luka was toxic. Everything zoey was interested in he trashed and said it was trivial. But when Luka was into something, his needs had to be met. He kinda treated zoey as his ditzy girl toy.
Yes, and Zoey validated his foolishness!

Itâs kinda of weird how these âwritersâ give more âadult-likeâ scenarios to high school students (EUPHORIA). But when it comes to actual adult, college students they give the viewers child-like, unrelatable scenarios đ€
I agree. On Euphoria I had to pretend they were all college students to get through it. I did enjoy the show nonetheless. I also think a big part of why there are limited with adult situations on Grownish is because Yara was underage for the majority of filming this show. But that's just my theory.
But Grownish is a Freeform show(fromerly Disney family) so Disney will only allow so much. Euphoria is an HBO show and can be more gritty.
Underrated comment
@@rgirl1243 thatâs a fact

Luca was insecure as well and was never interested in doing what made her happy. She basically treated him like a husband and he would make her suggestions seem like they weren't important. So both Zoey and Luca trashed their relationship in my opinion.
Honestly I like grownish but Zoey gets on my last nerves!!!! The worst main character everrrrr

what about tori vega
Ikr I like Zoe but she is to judge mental and Iâm tired of her venting on about her little boyfriends she wants everybody to drop whatever their doing to listen to her and itâs annoying itâs not cute at all I understand why the twins call her out and Nomi barely speaks to her and Anna girl Zoe ainât your friend she left you while you were drunk now youâre her best friend i canât girl you to nice
Lauryn Woods bruh she was so boring and annoying at the same time
Lauryn Woods yes but she was supposed to show growth in her personality and talent. She was still the same basic b from beginning to end. Look at Rachel from crazy ex girlfriend, her character grew over the seasons, and matured
I feel like this show is kinda an insult to the intelligence of Gen Zers. Yâall deserve better

The problem I had with the Zoey Luca relationship is that when Zoey accidentally impressed one of Lucas fashion heros by being who she is in contrast to Luca being too laid back and cool. When dude gave her a job Luca downed her talent and said it was she was attractive and dude wanting to sleep with her. Trash.
Yeah that was messed up and now that I think of it, that was probably one of the most realistic conflicts bc it's super common for young adult men to be intimidated by the success of their partners, especially if they're women.
I actually think Aaron being with Anna was pretty realistic. It's always the black men screaming black power at the top of their lungs that hate black women. I said what I said

The oh so hyped over pregnancy blew over so quickly...i cant but i love grownish
I felt that they did nomi wrong for making her pregnant cause like that was just crazy
This show was so disappointing. Blackish was amazing at touching on diverse topics and divergence on opinions within the black community- not in relation to white people. Itâs about the black community and black hot topics.
Zoey is now in college. The backdrop has changed, put the black stuff aside and talk about college problems. I was wholly expecting them to talk about student loans, drug use, abuse of power, campus assault, capitalism...ect. I was SO disappointed- I falsely gained hope when Dre cut Zoey off but no- sheâs completely fine and gets an internship handed to her.
Donât even get me STARTED on the petty relationships shit that I truly couldnât give a shit about. I was more interested in the dynamic between the men and women on campus, that would be an interesting convo, how does gen z navigate relationships now that gender norms are out the window? Oh wait, that doesnât matter.
And the bi character (canât remember her name) being biphobic...LMAOOO what the fuck???? Also I REALLY hated her affair with her teacher not being framed as a complete abuse of power, abuse in same-sex relationships NEED to be addressed, especially with nowadays, people are openly out now and need to know how to have safe relationships when theyâre hard to get. Ugh.
Itâs just so fucking stupid, the drug dealer plot (also forgot his name) is probably the most interesting plot but even thatâs half baked. The dialogue is stupid, the narration is really annoying, Zoey is completely unlikable (like most of the characters) they donât function as actually people. Zoey was always selfish though. I always thought that the Luka and Zoey relationship was both of their faults. Luka did kind of treat her like trash in regards to her job. She did try and help him and he pushed her away. I am not saying Zoey is not trash a lot of the times but I do believe that she cared for him. He didn't value her and sort of felt as though she was beneath him creatively and artistically.
They almost had the same background as far as being told since children they were the best or the favorite at what ever they were doing I could see why it didnât work
She should have never picked Luka... he was too vague with her about how she felt.. I hate hate hate that. Aaron was straight forward with her. But Zoey messy lol
Arch-Cheriea Strachan exactly!
When she was mad at Anna for hooking up with Aaron...THAT WAS INSANELY STUPID!!!
I'd understand her being upset if they was hooking up behind her back when she and Aaron had a thing, that's a story! But girl by the time those kids linked you had a man! She was basically saying "I don't want you but no one else can either." Girl!!!
She definitely still had unresolved feelings for Aaron! What pissed me off is Ana deciding not see him anymore after that. She didn't need Zoey's permission to date him! Ana & Aaron also made no real sense as a couple so the show should've never went there. Esp if they were gonna have them break up 2 eps later & not even really address their differences!
Frrrr
I didn't understand the conflict. I was hoping that everyone else wouldn't think Zoey's opinion on Anna being with Aaron was rational, but Sky considered it to be plausible due to the fact that they had history??? I was really over that tbh
They didnât even have a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night, like what kind of college experience are they having lol, but all jokes aside I think they definitely shouldâve did a spin-off with Junior instead bc he was textbook smart and socially awkward but coming from a mixed-race privileged family going to Howard definitely wouldâve actually had a good storyline to me
fr!
I had mixed feelings when the show first came out bc Zoey's character lacks depth and having someone with no arch can't carry a show. It happened with season 1 of A Different World and that's why people are bored of her. Not to mention that weak ass attempt to tackle colorism in season 1. They never actually address the issues fully. They barely touch the surface of the nuances and complexities of the oppressive systematic structures. They failed not having a dark skin girl FROM THE JUMP. It gives me a lazy kids show because there's no depth. Stop focusing on the forced black twitter slang and restructure the damn show.
it kind of feels like how a different world started. It started with Denise Huxtable ,the least interesting huxtable kid until she left her own spin off. When she left a different world it became a better show. Maybe thatâs what they need to do with Zoeyâs character?? Kick her off lmao
It's a shame how the writers still refuse to develop Yara's character. Tbh, it doesn't matter that she didn't have many storylines on blackish because she is a brand new character to thousands of Grownish viewers. All they needed to do was develop her, which isn't hard to do. It's been done time and time before. It's just lazy, poor writing.
Why even start watching in the first place then though? lol
@boulderarms That's honestly mainly due to poor writing. They put little to no effort into Zoey and still aren't. It's weird how they don't want to develop Zoey in any way, shape or form to the point they literally make her relearn and regress every episode for no reason instead of giving her better storylines.
@boulderarms And I feel bad for the actress. She probably thought they would finally give her decent lines and develop her character , but nope. They don't want to..Not only that, I feel bad for all the actors because the writers put little to no effort in the show in its entirety which is a damn shame. Those kids deserve better imo.
Most of the main cast cannot act at all but y'all aren't ready for that conversation.
That part lol
I didn't wanna say it but if the writers were competent and could give more depth to them, idk if they could handle it

"I'm ready for someone else to become the main character." #facts the Supporting characters are carrying this show.
Also, are we not going to talk about how Vivek never gets a love interest?! He is so cute and I remember being in college with a close boy and girl friend group and we all eventually hooked up or had crushes on each other, but none of the female characters in his friend group are attracted to him?! He is now the only boy living with the rest of the girls like some additional girlfriend! Vivek being Indian and the only non-black main male character on the show who is written to not have any sex appeal, game or cool factor just perpatuates the undesirable asian character we have seen in 2 broke girls, BBT etc. Vivek is a snackđ đŠ
Oh, it's definitely because of the trope that "Asian men are undesirable". Vivek might be a bit of a clown, but he is well meaning and surprisingly confident for someone who seemingly has no game. One other thing I think they handled REALLY badly was their episode that was basically about the Me Too movement. And the whole episode was filled with them basically treating the entire idea of making sure that a person consents while they're sober totally trivial. That episode honestly disgusted me.

Yeah that episode was so problematic and this really shouldn't have gone that way
Grownish makes it seem like the hardest things you go through in college is relationships and everything else can be solved in 3 days (1 episode)
Vivek is the best written and most lovable character so making him the "black culture appropriator" was like not sensible because we all understand that Vivek has trouble fitting in a he genuinely didn't understand culture appropriation and he thought he was doing what it took to fit in. But the culture appropriation that actually hurts us is not from people like that. It's from people trying to make money off it and gain social following. And also confronting an actual culture appropriator definitely would not take one day. Those people defend themselves or simply unfriend you.
They did Vivek dirty especially with that whole making him have a hard time with women and basically a loser we don't need more of that stereotype flying around for Asian men
That statement at it's best was CONTRADITORY BECAUSE HE SHOULDN'T IMITATING ANOTHER CULTURES NATURE JUST TO FIT IN WITHOUT LEARNING THE OFFENSIVE TONES OR UNDERS BEFORE TRYING TO FIT SIMPLELY BECAUSE "HE'S TRYING TO OR FEELS THE NEED TO FIT IN"(SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE) AND BEING COOL WITH EVERYONE BY IMITATING ANOTHER CULTURE WAS MAKING HIM MONEY OFF AND FRM THAT CULTURE BECAUSE HE WAS SELLING DRUGS TO THEM!!!

Like Highkey mad respect yo, Vivek is not given enough credit; like honestly as far as amongst the boys as far as a catch goes Vivek is at the top of my list.
Granted is highkey blackfishing personality choices and mannerisms is hmmm........questionable, at best; But i feel like this Identity Crisis is something that can be easily redressed if they give him like a potential love interest/ other potential friend who teaches him to not so much shun and instead be proud of his Indian heritage. One that comes from an Immigrant struggle that might not be successful necessarily, is as equally important but gave him the family that he has. I think he really needs to step into his own as a character and not just as a side comic relief of like lowkey grovelling to the black culture to feel included that fans like to piss on.
Best catches in my opinion are:
-Vivek
- Sky
- Jess
- Arron
- Luca
In that order.
I'd love to see him fall for a baddie Indian girl and he's just comically rushing to reclaim his heritage but she sees right through it bit they still end up together
Luca is an assđ
@@ciannie__8729 EXACTLY! His so BORING
I was waiting for someone to address this I like that grownish can call attention to the feelings of black youth and how we might feel differently or out of place in college growing up and leaving the nest. but Jesus Christ almost every person in this show was unbearable zoey only thought about herself Luca was one of them overly woke men that treated everyone like they knew nothing. The twins were always so disrespectful and rude. I love to see proud, confident black women who take no nonsense but these characters were just plain mean and disguising their insults as pride and confidence you can be a strong woman without insulting peoples intelligence race and looks
@Lucy Wales Itâs an American show so obviously it will focus on America.
Zooey's outfits are on point! She is fashion!
Just in season one tho
Thank you!!!!!!!!
seasoned 1 yes , it went downhill from there.
Yes, I loved season 1 fashion the best!!
Never lol
I know Iâm just considered ancient at 27 to yal gen Z kids, but I assumed that I would connect to this show more. When the show came out I was 25, I had just graduated from a PWI three years prior to the show coming out.
I guess college kids have changed A LOT, because many of the plot points seemed extremely immature. The drug culture was nothing like what I experienced in college. I know they have to over dramatize it to make it a show, but it seemed far fetched to me.
I LOVED A Different World, and still do, despite the fact the the target demographic was in college before I was born. I thought that I would be able to connect to this show in the same way but it was a no for me!
Comparing A Different Worlds colorism show to Grown Ish pretty much sums up everything I needed to know about grown ish.
GREAT video by the way (: I just found your channel today and Iâm enjoying your commentary.
They were kinda spot on with the drug culture, ngl, it's crazy these days lol. But everything else? *sigh* let's just pray they get it together for future seasons. I wanna see this show prosper!
The drug culture what spot on tbh. Probably the most realistic thing about the show.
Zana Music why do you all think drug use has increased so much amongst young people in less than 10 years? I graduated from college in 2015, yeah people smoked weed, but it wasnât to the extent of what this show portrays. Or maybe I was just a goody two shoes lol đ€·đŸââïž. Idk. Nonetheless, I wonder how grownish will age compared to other shows like it.
Still Nia Bia I never said drug use has increased. I know what the drug culture is like among this generation because Iâm apart of this generation. Thatâs why I said it is accurate.
Zana Music The conversation was rooted in comparison amongst the two different generations. I said as a millennial it was far fetched based on my college experience. You said it was accurate to your experience. I was wanting your opinion on why you believe that we have these differing perspectives.
Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Yeaaah, no as a brownskin woman I donât feel represented in the slightest
I'm so sorry, but may I ask how so? Like are you middle Eastern,Asian or dark skinned because as a black woman who's pretty in the middle skin tone wise I just feel like those are the most underrepresented but your thoughts are also valid
I'm happy ryan destiny is in the show now tho
Exactly
I honestly thought I was the only one that felt this way. Everything you said was factssss!!!
I hate how in the show, when vivek had his 3some that everyone was so hyped of the thought of him with two women was a win but as soon as he said it was with another man and he kissed him it completely changed, they gloss over great topics like the double standard of sex and sexuality, as if experimentation and Bisexuality does not exist. two different topics with complex arguments.
Is no one talking about the fact that Vivek is being played by a Filipino actor and Vivek is Indian???
Omg I was looking for a comment like this after posting mine!!!
@@anthonyfregala Iâm genuinely shocked and kinda disappointed that this hasnât been discussed.. for as much talk as there is about representation this seems to just go completely over everyoneâs head... đ¶
I'll say I think Zoey and Luca's relationship isn't supposed to be romantic, I think it's supposed to represent dumbass emotionally unhealthy relationships you actually get into in college. I'd be lying af if I said I never had stupid dramatic on-and-off-again relationships that annoyed all my friends when I was young and dumb.
It saddens me that after all these years the still writers refuse to develop Yara's character or give Zoey better storylines. Why? I'm starting to feel like its on purpose at this point because they make Zoey relearn and do the same thing every episode. It's like they have never seen other teen shows like Degrasssi, Moesha, Gossip Girl and more. I would honestly leave until the writers give me a decent role, smh.
I love me some Ryan Destiny, but I want a dark skin girl I can relate to. Tee Noir definitely just feel like Ryanâs character is the beautiful dark girl. Thatâs cute, but.... Make her different. I want to see Kimberley from âA Different Worldâ. I want a girl who is goal oriented, finds herself, and comes to her full being. Whoâs not the Instagram body type.
Not the girl we gotta hate cuz she with Zoey ex-man; or the girl that befriends Zoey and we gotta hold our breath until we figure out if we should like her. Ryan Destiny overall, feels very thrown in, because viewers demanded dark-skin representation. Give me more. Just me. Ight!!!
___________________________________________
This definitely may play out, like âA Different Worldâ as far as Zoey either leaving or not necessarily being a âmainâ character. Weâll see, maybe Zoey will get her life together.
Also TeamZuca... Periodttt
Zoeys Character Lacks Depth In The Worst Kinda Way đ€ŠđŸââïž Sheâs An Awful Friend. I Want A Spin Off With Jazz And Sky
I shipped Zuka bc I wanted to date Luca. Lol
I would LOVE to see more plus sized actors on the show
Zoey is sooooooo judgemental as well
Ig we can all agree Charlie is the best thing to ever happen to the whole blackish/grownish universe
đ People who want to go to University expect everyday to be a Grownish episode
Right! like that girl who cussed out Vanessa Hudgens on insta because freshman year was nothing like high school musical!
@@kennedyjojackson1202 đđđđđđ
My favorite part is still when Dre and Pops came over and met Luka (Luca?) and she pretended his joint was a hearing aid and all that. My mom and I reference that scene all the time.
Zoey and Yara are soooo parallelđđđ hate Zeoy, love Yaraâ€
Zoey's character needs a lot of deep ...really deeeeeeeeeeep developmentđ
Tbh I feel like Zoey doesn't have a huge character development because Yara is playing her. It's almost like the writers are playing it safe to maintain Yara's image. Not saying Yara is a bad actress though.
@@mynameisblossom2096 That literally has nothing to with it. It just bad writing. No way is it normal for a character to relearn and do the same thing every episode. There is no excuse for such lazy and poor writing. And this show has shitty writing all around even with episodes with her so there is definitely no rhyme or reason even if she isn't the best actor.
@@amberkenson2234 I agree the writer on that show are dropping the ball. But the reason why I said this because look how they did the colorism episode. Zoey was literally no where to be found when they were discussing this issue. In real life yara benefits from colorism and has a record of not fully not understanding her privilege
I honestly never realized how everyone was light skinned đ¶đœââïžđ¶đœââïžđ¶đœââïžđ¶đœââïžđđđ
itâs a good show they just need new writers
I donât like that they made Vivek a drug dealer. Thatâs a really strong stereotype in college. They coulda made him an athlete, part of student councils, really anything but a drug dealer.
I love Halle/Sky(e)... they lean a little heavy on Chloe/Jaz(z)... And yeah Zoey leaving Anna was the wildest shit ever
It's so wild how that was seemingly glossed over ...
You deserve so much more recognition! Loved your vid!â€ïž
Thank u hunny! My time is coming, but in the meantime thanks for ur support! â€ïž
Duuudeee I canât stress enough how Zoey and Luca shouldâve been the relationship of the next two seasons like after what they put us through they met even together at the end which was a bust cause I liked them together
Girl you just amazing the way you perfectly analyze this. I stopped watching the show and couldnât figure out why.. and you just showed me all the flaws I couldnât figure it out
Someone had to say this man was a hotep
For real like they really didn't give anything to arron
What is a hotep?
@@donellkriel4996 _Google is your friend_ đđđđŸ
It's so funny to watch videos where y'all drag this show. đđđ For me, this is a show I put on in the background as I'm doing other stuff. I really only watch it for Chloe x Halle. The plotlines are meh. The relationship drama is forgettable. The characters are laughable.
When she said "everyone's outfits are always fly" I said with her "except zoe" đ€Łđ€Ł
I love the premise of the show! I was so exited when it first came out, I was kind of expecting âa different worldâ vibes but from the perspective of this generation. And when I didnât get that I wasnât mad I stuck with it but the the execution just continued to disappointđȘ
And they donât have any black writers đ€ŠđŸââïžđ
Thank u
Doug acts 0 flavourđ but at the same thing I'd love to see him more .
Wave cap Wednesday is my favorite scene in the entire shiw
I loved this video, you said what we all were thinking. Vivek was doing cultural assimilation rather than appropriation.
Nah, I live Zoe's style! Love the patterns and uniqueness of it all! Kills the game! đđœđđœđđœ
Right!!! đShe shouldnât hate because someone dresses differently from her.
Doug once he started dating one of the twins didnât bother anyoneđ«đ€Łhe was one of the fave guys lml
the show should have hour(45 minutes after ads) long episodes, black-ish is a sitcom that can have lighter topics but since grown-ish has more of plot it needs to be longer. the episodes are 20 minutes, not long enough.
did anyone peep how CZcams censored the word "bisexual"???
I think she edited it herself
Zoeâs outfits were fire and that kind of style is seen in magazines
Hotep and a republican together đ€Ł
What does hotep meaning
I like Mixed-Ish and Black-Ish better but I don't mind Grown-Ish
I also donât like how they just brushed past Annaâs comment about all black people being drug dealers
Thank you for this!! I watch Grownish because I enjoy Blackish, but it's not my age group so I was wondering if it was horrible because it's not a show geared to me or if Zoey and some of these situations were just absolutely ridiculous!!
Loved the video, wanted to add that it honestly makes sense that sometimes the choices they make on the popular issues lean a little more towards the conservative side, like the sl*tshaming episode, because the channel that runs Grown-ish (freeform) is an explicitly christian channel that they rebranded to be a teen channel. If you ever forget to turn the channel off at night it starts playing those godawful white televangelists screaming about sin...
I LOVE zoey wtfđ€Łđ€Ł she is so relatable. And love grown ish its a bop tis funny as hell
i think grownish is realistic bc people have really petty fights all the time and are so complicated for no reason at all and when the fights die out everyone just goes back to being friends
and people make a big deal out of relationships and friendships that it gets so annoying and sometimes cringe đŹ
so yes it's very realistic
i love this show btw
