I recently discovered that this guy is actually pretty funny if you pay close attention. About 20 secs before the kick to the cup he got jabbed to the body and then wiped his belly to remove the itch. And then that whole epic sequence happened. I don't think I've ever laughed this much watching MMA.

That was the most badass thing I ever seen. Even better than holloway. first He waves Herb off the cup check. He's like I just wanted you to take note not to step in. Herb immediately backs away doesn't say a damn word like a chastised child. 1 second later Hill is out on his feet falling to the mat. Pereira take a look and sees life is still in him. 3 seconds after that the 3rd or 4th hammer fist puts jamahl out for good and before Herb can stop it Pereira backs out knowing that was truly the end. I was not a Pereira fan before this moment. I am for life.

I still think that Jones, Silva, GSP and Mighty Mouse are currently the goats, Pereira may join the club later, he only had 14 professional MMA fights. If we consider Pereira a goat we should also include Cejudo due to his gold medal and 2 different weights classes belts, and I don't think Cejudo is a 🐐

In all honesty I expected Alex to win by Ko by not like this. I do feel that Herb probably got him out of his zone once he had interfered briefly. I was surprised when this fight was announced because I figured we would see Hill again until June. Achilles tears generally take a year to completely come back from and he returned to the cage in 10.

It usually takes 12 months to fully heel from an achilles tendon injury and Hill came back in 10. He might not have been at 100% yet and he certainly lost a bunch of potential training time. Hopefully he doubles down at getting better because he's still a good fighter despite what happened last night.
Theres actually a lot to take from that fight. Pretty much Perreira's entire arsenal of techniques were on display. It's not how many different techniques he uses, but the mastery he has in them.
