Reason why they stuck with perfecting the AEK-971 and 973, each respectively in 5.45x39 mm and 7.62x39mm, which gave "birth" to both kords A545 (5.45x39mm) and the A762 (7.62x39) to be delivered only to elite troops, including paratroopers, instead of the ak-200. But my guess not many were produced so Spetsnaz and frankly most "competent" troopers are dropping the ak-200 as fast as they can for akm/s 74 or series 100 AK's, mainly modernized 107's and very limited numbers numbers of 103's.

I strongly disagree with him. Again, I give the example of AEK-971. Its counterbalanced bolt group is simple and ingenious. The machine has no toss at all, which greatly increases accuracy, and almost no recoil is felt. And its fire mode translator is more similar to the G36, which is also much more convenient than that of the AK.

Please, don't say that this is a good gun - it's an overpriced marketing instrument, not a real weapon. Kalashnikov concern produces far better Saiga series shotguns, while MP-155 is just a mass media bait.

Why Mp 155 why is not used by russian troops against fpv drones? A military version more 'clean' and more light. At least to have something to fight from short range to defeand your self in case you have a chance to see an fpv drone incoming to you. I think in 10-20 m you will have the chance to hit the drone because is coming directll to you so you can predict the trajectory. I think with good training you can improve your chances. Second for each 3-4 soldiers i would designed a special soldier with dedicated ak vpr12 to hunt any drone around the group.

    • @user-lg5xo9py1i
      @user-lg5xo9py1i Před 14 dny

mp155 is a shotgun. at first glance, a shotgun seems to be the obvious answer to a drone threat. but shotguns suck at distances. drones fly high. kamikaze drones don't give enough time to grab a shotgun that is long, bulky, ~4kg when loaded, and most of all it is otherwise useless.
there is no point in military version btw. the military could just use a normal civilian version which is quite popular, if they wanted to. it doesn't have any of bluetooth bs that was installed on some shotguns for advertisement purposes.

    1) PSS is a fantastic firearm.
    2) Just an expensive gun, with cool desing, and expensive parts.
    3) HAHAHAHAHAHAH. This is just the same MP 155, but with the screen. Useless and VERY expensive (original МP 155 costs like 300 - 400 bucks). Fun fact, they needed 3 years to create a shotgun with a screen from tarkov. Oh and they promiced a thermal cam, but on the release there's no camera.
    4) This is just a PP-19-01 Vityaz, but with rails.
    5) Well it's ok.
    6) Oh boy. Just a worse version of AK-74, but with rails.

@@alexnderrrthewoke4479 Nah, they really ruined it. The Original Ak-12 was amazing, it was basically an AK with all the stuff an AR could do that previous AKs couldn't. Had great ergonomics, the rails held zero, was specifically designed for use with suppressors, etc.
The AK-12 that's now produced isn't based on the original AK-11 prototype, its based off of the AK-400. The AK-400 is literally just an AK-74 internally, with picatinny rail on the dust cover and handguard. Arguably, the AK-74 had better ergonomics over the AK12.
The rifle is still technically designed for use with suppressors, but isn't at a western level, the dust cover doesn't really hold zero all that well, (better than normal dust covers, but still not as good as say an AR pic rail, or zenitco rails for 74s) the handguard doesn't hold zero at all, with Russian soldiers claiming that it can't hold zero for lasers at all, a NONREPLACABLE gas block, (the Russian military uses corrosive ammo) and plenty of other smaller issues, such as the selector on early models not being tight enough where it would mess you up, the 2 round burst, etc
If Russia just went with the AK-74m modernization kit that they were looking into creating, the whole issue with nearly everything would be solved. But no, corruption meant the project was scrapped

Besides, that's a lot of money wasted when Russia had what? Like 10 million AK-74s they could have modernized for cheaper?
Not to mention, as a modern combat rifle, it still lacks a good C-clamp, it lacks ambidextrous controls, and they really should have just adopted the AKV-521 so they could have upper/lower receivers for modularity. Its not an awful rifle, but its not good at all.

The AR-15 platform showed itself not bad during an assault, in a one-time event, especially when shooting at medium distance, more precisely than AK, but in battle inside the trenches at a short distance there is not much difference between the AK and AR platforms. But everything changes when you have to live in the trenches for weeks, daily artillery shelling, earth pouring from all sides, dirt, more dirt and once again dirt and many Ukrainian soldiers are returning to the good old AKM.
