  • Bangalore / bengaluru known as the IT capital of silicon valley of india this video explains how this city became the it capital or the silicon valley of india and how soo many top global companies like google , microsoft , intel , oracle and others have their offices
In 1898, Jamsetji Tata, built the foundation for progressive education in the country. After consulting various authorities in the country, he constituted a Provisional Committee to prepare the required scheme for setting up of a science institute, which was named the Indian Institute of Science. After several discussions with the then viceroy,Lord Curzon, and further collaborations with the Royal Society of London, Nobel Laureate, Sir William The turn of the millennium witnessed the growth of International based technologies which resulted in the ‘dotcom boom’. Bangalore’s IT industry grew during this period with establishment of local and foreign IT companies. Indian technological organisations like ISRO, Infosys, Wipro and HAL are all headquartered in the city.
The location of Bangalore became another factor of it becoming the”Sillicon Valley of India”. Being farther away from the war zones, government sponsored lab and research was set-up in Bangalore. ISRO headquartered in Bangalore. This move attracted the best minds to the city.
The use of the term, “Sillicon Valley of India” to refer Bangalore grew in media, both national and international. A New York Times 2006 article entitled “Is the Next Sillicon Valley Taking Root in Bangalore?

Hydroelectric power was first harnessed in Mysore due to the brilliance of the engineers both British and the iconic Sir M. Visvesvaraya. Electric street lights were first seen in KGF and Bangalore due to.this. hence our engineering traditions go back much beyond the IISc, which old timers still call the Tata Institute! Suggest the team also record the contribution of the large number of engineering colleges in the state.

Legend says that Mysore Maharaja had sent Vivekananda to the famous Chicago event and on the way he met Tata and on the way they discussed about this and then they told about this to Maharaja.. who readily gave the land in Bangalore to set it up.. Mysore Maharaja are famous for setting up many many institutions.. And also HAL was privately owned company which was later nationalized.. even in this Mysore Maharaja had a share.. it was started by walchand...

Main reason is ( IPR) intellectual property rights & y2k and politician Ramakrishna Heggade. When he was CM of Karnataka, built electronic cities and when became commerce minister of government of India abolished IPR and all electronic raw materials attracted nil duty not only in sez's, epz's but also elsewhere. Y2k strated as slang, one who don't pay bribes to get the things done. were considered as pests or virus in general parlance. Techeis in Banglore took advantage. Why not to pay became why to pay. IT hub or silicon city Bengaluru due credit should go to Shri Ramakrishna Heggade. Great visionary & leadership.
