Hello, could you tell me where the sound is more realistic at the piano and where the keyboard is better - on this instrument or on the Yamaha ydp 164?
I have a Yamaha YDP-103, considering upgrading to this (RCP-800 Costco version). Would you know what major differences this piano has over the Yamaha? Touch action much better? Sound quality? Thanks!

Some digital pianos use sampling. Sampling is a recording from an actual piano. When the notes are played the recording is played and it sounds like the piano is playing. Modeling uses digitally reproduced piano sounds when each note is played. Some prefer sampling. Some prefer modeling. Some companies mix the two (sampling & Modeling) on each note to try to create a realistic sound

Roland sounds much crystal clear like high-quality vst . Samples are basically compressed.
Personally didn’t like CLP 735 and 745 when tried in the store
Pianoteq destroys all. Had it turned into a digital piano, none can beat the physical modelling technology. Samplings are just space consuming, money costing and strenuous.
