- You only get one first time so I wanted to make sure I got the whole experience on cam!
After riding a few electric skateboards and ebikes for a couple years I was ready for a new thrill....The electric scooter. Yes Im behind in trends but thats on purpose. These were really popular a couple years ago and slowly ebikes and the EUC are now the hot modes to ride. So that means I'm ready to try....and I wanted it to be a good one. Not a snob just used to 30 mph so it needed to do it quicker or go faster. The Zero 10x does both of those. And some more!! SO much fun. SO much speed. SO much pull. In fact, I totally dig it and think it could be my favorite ride to date. Here's my first hr riding it on the streets of San Francisco!
The Electric Life is my life. Here you'll find FPV footage from my rides around San Francisco and other local Northern California locations, reviews and important info on ebikes, electric skateboards, and electric scooters I own and ride, and anything related to the life of Personal Electric Vehicles in general may show up here!! Please like and subscribe if you enjoy these kinds of videos and of course sit back and enjoy or grab a scooter or bike and join me...Either way LETS RIDE!!!

You have so many nice spots where you are. And loving the content your putting out so far 👌
Love hearing that Martyn appreciate it!! Yes truly lucky for all the nice spots we have to ride here ....Stoked I can share and take care!!
Awesome, super glad you're enjoying your 10x! 🛴💨💨
My man thanks for being a soldier of scooters because as you know when we 1st met i talked smack about scooter riders...Like GIJoe said knowing is half the battle and for sure the acceleration, torque, and simple fun you get riding these is truly unique. Would love to do a big scooter only group ride soon with ya and the gang, got to get some skills by riding with some mad scooter runners! Thanks again for the inspiration Kevin, your vids and love of scoots made me try it out. So freaking glad i did. 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
“It’s all beautiful until the bum takes a piss”!!! Lmfao hahahah
Man, that was a pleasant video. I usually don't watch riding videos, especially hour-long ones, but the smooth commentary just kept me in.
I enjoy your joy, cheers !
So Joyful thank you!!!
You went hard on this.. I'm feeling it🤣🤣🤣💯💯👍
Iv just ordered one so yep I can't wait 😁 .
Ohhh yeah nice!!! Some super fun days coming your way on your scoot, congrats!!
@@TheElectricLife my zero 10x is being shipped on the 25,8,2020 . Just to let you know I'm 53 years old and feeling like I'm 10 waiting for Santa OH come on SANTA 😁 .
Whats cool is you get to feel like that yet again when you finally engage mode 3 full throttle on your beast!!! After riding with some great big groups with experience and seeing many things go down, make sure ya put something on that lid and some pads on those joints might be smart as well til ya master your new Jedi scoot skills. Lotta newbies up here go out like a Bon Jovi song...Skills training on a tennis court and lots of ways to practice til you go 30. Or simply ride everyday because that's what's about to happen anyway:)
Man loved your video!
Thats awesome thank you!! You only get one 1st time so I made sure to try and document it properly! Love having the scooter as part of my stable!
Great video quality
Thank you! Gopro hero 7 does a pretty good shot still!
You can do alot of customization in P settins9.. no kick start, higher battery discharge, wheel size etc etc etc. I'm leaning to get one. I have a Xiaomi pro but I need suspension and dual motor. Great post! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Whats crazy is i got lost in there and accidentally turned on the cruise control...oh damn when that kicked in at 30+ I pretty much shat my pants!! Saw the videos about how to set up it up and dialed it in after that! Thanks for the heads up and the love on the vid! Definitely have a couple more hundred on it now and love it. A friend fell in love and wanted one asap which is a couple months, but I sent him to Apollo scooters and they have earlier shipping. Looks the same or cooler if you like blue, reviews have been great, and the warranty is spectacular. Seems like a lot of new scoots coming out soon so we're in luck...competition is a great thing for us consumers!!
nice to see someone positioning the trigger throttle right finally..
Thank you but as I try to keep altruistic as possible I need to say thanks to the gentleman who sold it to me like that. Dude was on his game of knowledge and had been though a few monster scoots already when he sold this to me with only 70 miles on it. Had the little aftermarket rear air shock installed on there as well, he totally set me well as a scoot noob.
Wish the screen was independent from the throttle.
I get my zero X10 tomorrow. Can't wait to get on that thing
Is this the 60v version?
Nope have the 52v 23 ah....Was on Craigslist so even though a couple options weren't on there id like to have I didnt have to wait and really for my 1st scoot pretty perfect. Been playing the game for a couple years so know all too well about range so wanted that 20 miles full throttle minimum and im getting that at 205 and drone gear and packed bag. Your gonna love it. Stoked for ya🤘🏼
Steering damper allied express sells them. $170 for the kit!
For sure the only upgrade truly needed!! After months Ive gotten a lot better and have trust now...but no matter it still can be wobbly and one handed is a big no no. Was looking at an upgrade but dont like the market right now. My luck would be dropping the 3k I have for a new PEV right now and a month later a new scoot or ebike would be released by someone!! Pretty dang well rounded scoot no matter. Thanks for the recommendation, appreciate the look out!
what bike has the front brakes on the left? it's always clutch left front brake right. glad you like your 10x mine should be here any day now. is that the 18.2 or 23ah version? I got the 23ah hydraulic brake version
Sorry Im an old bmx'er since youth and left hand has always been front brakes for me, and I think every other bike or bicycle Ive had. Definitely not talking motorcycles but do drive clutch so makes since it would be on the left for them! For normal bike riders though the reverse switch is going to be weird no doubt. I drive 3 electric different vehicles so my brain is like right hand controller, normal bike ride, and now reverse bike ride! Im slowly fine with it after about 6 weeks but its just weird. Thank god its not asking me to drive a clutch engaging right foot for gears and gas on the left:) Have the bigger 23 ah but with mechanical brakes...Would have liked some hydraulics but bought with only 70 miles used on Craigslist for $1000 so can't complain. Your gonna have some fun for sure.
Wow
I heard that!
Oh, I know you gave him that look for a second. when you went on that bike lane. 😂😂😂
Ohh man reminds me we gotta start riding again bro!! Once filming is done need to get a celebratory ride it!!
Hahaha thanks for the laughs 👍
Glad you enjoyed the ride!!! Funny I literally had no clue if I would even like to ride a scooter when I did this video....A year later Im spending 3k on a scooter jaja f me!!!
can you do more of this stuff btw love your vidoes
Thanks for the love Ghost!! Trying to put out 3x week and half or more will be scoot so stay tuned!! Everyone loving my latest BAESK8 5am Group Ride for the latest action!!
The Electric Life thanks for the reply your welcome
SF looks like a great place to drive these. Have you tried a steering damper ?
mine comes this saturday. The Zero 10X is the same as the Turbowheel lightning just rebranded. I ordered the lightning because i heard its great and it comes with hydraulic brakes
Your about to be stoked! Hope your ride is as awesome as it was for me. With the better brakes you've got everything for a pretty rad ride!
@@TheElectricLife yeah thats my most expensive purchase i ever made lol. ill try it out tomorrow. i still wanna get elbow and knee pads and other things. do you have a lock you would recommend?
@@TheElectricLife I love it so far but steering is a little stiff so hard to turn. any ideas how to loosen that ?
@@OhHelioss Sorry don't have much experience other then the coupe hunded miles I've done. That sounds odd though, like a major bolt or stem tighter is way off. Also maybe where you bought customer service might have some quick fixes us rookies don't know about?!? Hope you get that solved soon, steering is pretty important to keep ya safe!!
@@OhHelioss For sure I think no matter how much money a person makes a couple thousand for a vehicles like this is pricey! But once you get some miles of freedom and fun, can integrate into your commute, or simply just hang with some friends and ride it's a life changer. Welcome to the sweet life. And get that steering fixed and it will be sweeter!🤘🏼
Hey bro, sorry for bother you, just got a question on the zero 10x steering, when it is brand new, does your steering is kinda tight? Because I just got mine arrived today, but steering is kinda tight, it does not wanna be turning freely, I just wondering if yours feels the same when it is new, if not, most likely I have to adjust the tightness.
So when I bought mine it had about a 100 mile used and even though it was in great condition, the guy rode it pretty hard and was pretty broken in when I got mine. I'd say its just new and maybe needs to be broken in? Because theres no way its stays like that I would imagine as mine almost feels too loose.....Now you got me thinking I gotta go check some bolts!! Even though I'm always re-tightning and testing the main bolts I never look under or tighten that front stem too much. Interested what the seller says, they most have gotten this question before. Don't loosen too much until advised for sure, that could be really bad as well. Also those cables on mine somewhat hit on the bottom so I zip tied to make tight and have no problems now with that. Break it in softly to 50 and you should have an email answer back from them soon, sorry I don't know any more my man
@@TheElectricLife it is cool, thank you very much for your reply brother.
Curious my friend did your steering wear in and everything workout ok??
That is normal as bearings are arse tight from the factory
I’m getting mine friday 10x 52v what mods or accessories you recommend for it
Thats awesome Pierre congrats!! Its pretty nice out of the box so not a lot to recommend!!
The Electric Life I can’t wait to try it any tips to not crash or die hahah
@@pierrefitch Haha well for sure don't use cruise control. The one time I did almost killed me!! Also never take a hand off over 5mph or you will crash as the tiny wheels get too squirrelly. I've just used my athletic coaching and applied it here(Looks like you know about that!)....start slow and go to tennis courts or somewhere with stable but soft ground if you fall and practice turns, go in and out of cones or drive figure 8s, go fast then brake fast, brake into turns while leaning with your body, etx.. You spend your 1st 2 weeks doing that for 30 minutes every day and you'll have skills for the road my friend!🤘🏼
@@pierrefitch stem clamp upgrade
damn that's a expensive " 1ST" scooter
This is very true but in my case makes sense. 2 years ago I started with a $400 Wowgo board, added my Juiced City Scrambler for $1000, upgraded my boards with Exway and finally settling on my $1300 Ownboard Carbon AT, and then took a look at scooters. Anything that would perform below these would be like going backwards for my experiences so this seemed like the best value before going into $3-4k range. Not called The Electric Life for nothing my man!!
@@TheElectricLife i got the Z4 from okidas don't know bow it is yet waiting on arrival it says it has 5600w in dual Motors just wondering if you know anyone that bought anything from this brand? Thanks brother
Keen on an 11X for my 1st (after sorting out a small financial disaster) - bit crazy for a 47 fatman - but EV and standing feels good.
Test rode one on the weekend for 10 mins - oh God I'm sold!
Do you also have the cracking sound form the stem?
Read about many zero10x riders having that problem thankfully for me no. They make a stem clamp that helps with that supposedly if you have that problem. The stem play from dualtron thunder and some other scooters is supposedly way worse. As a 205lb dude loaded with extra camera gear and who wants to push this thing I was worried about that. Mine is tight and doesn't crack.
I do, I do hear what you are saying. LOL
"If you can close a quick-release lever without wrapping your fingers around the frame and it doesn't leave an imprint on your palm after doing so, then it itsn't sufficiently tight" - from instruction manual of some bicycle. Might as well apply here.
Ohhh its about as tight as it gets my man. Look this up its a common problem for and Im not some 150 lb pulling on this. They make a double clamp....Seems to bother my viewers more then me riding it so just might buy for you guys!!!
Want a zero 10x so bad but Revrides has them on back order so I am deciding to get one off AliExpress.. there’s a lot of great reviews and the vendor seems legit but I am not sure I guess I’m kinda scared lol.
Yeah thats kind of a risk with a couple thousand bucks through Ali but they have gotten a lot better(Ive heard) and if you can research the vendor and find authentic customers happy go for it. Also used they will start popping up with winter coming and people low on cash with current conditions and the holidays so keep eyes open locally and nearby for a deal and good luck! REV rides has a great warranty. Also Apollo Scooter has basically the same scoot with a great warranty as well, depending on your patience. I get wanting to ride ASAP but after buying a scoot most likely something will come up....Most likely you will have to fix it on your own no matter warranty or not so in that regard your ok. But when you need replacement or real parts not sure how easy or hard that will be and those companies dont have time to help you out with a product you bought from someone so your on your own in that regard. So gotta think about that. Couple people went for it in BAESK8 and they've put thousands of miles on them. You've got lots of good options. Baby that thing and you'll be all good. Best of luck mate!!!
@@TheElectricLife Hi! I have 23ah version also, base to your experience how long do you normally reach for a full battery using your single turbo motor?
scrambler vs 10x witch one is your favorite?
You know the Zero 10x is the flavor of the week and Im really surprised how much fun riding a scooter like this but, If I had to pick one the bike by a hair. It can blend in easier, go over bridges, with my mods has almost 2x the range, and when tired hey your sitting down which is cool for long rides. The scooter is faster and kicks ass though, funner for me maybe because its new and with 20 miles range for me aint too shabby. But like I said Scrambler by a hair. Finally doing a Scrambler review video premiering tomorrow morning that has a lot more info as well!
The Electric Life thanks for that breakdown. I set the alert for that video. In the thumbnail, am I tripping, or do I see a mid motor on your scrambler?
@@grundyman26 ah sorry to disappoint im not that clever with my bike yet! Unfortunately It's just a storage bag!🙄
The Electric Life 😂, I was praying it was. I wanted to see what that was like
you missed the CRASH that happen right in front of you 😂. 20:52
For those who missed it
Thats a great catch! Took me a couple times to find it then I found it...People always trying to haul ass just to get to the next stop sign in a 25mph zone. On group rides we take a whole lane because of too many pedestrians where Im riding and some people get all crazy even though we are going just as fast or faster. I guess in CA and SF at least the law is on our side and we are legal to do so. But you caught it and its a notorious stretch of dangerous road, although its famous for Bullitt and Star Trek 4!
Sorry Ginger. Sometimes some horrible sounds are not always a bad thing.🤭🤭🤭
True but sadly many past band members have told me the same thing and used this same saying!!:)))
Anyone ever order from okidas?
Nope
Nice .. u will soon understand why there's a front brake
Same reason there's one for a bike? I'm glad there's both but just funny front brake is on the right hand. Riding a bike since 3 so that is like a trap for my brain!😂
@@TheElectricLife after I watch ur video I understood what u was saying . Super 73 had it switched around also now super 73 rx. Is back to normal .. hope to see more videos . I think I watched them all .. so new content..💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
@@gregoryburkhead7813 Gregory thank you so much!! Really appreciate the support and glad to have content you actually like! Again thanks for being a subscriber and best to ya🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
At first i thought you were somewhere in Praque.
Why did you buy the Zero 10X? It is the 60 volt version if i'm correct? You are living in a beautifull spot on this planet b.t.w.
Maybe i will get the 11X. At the beginning of the video you mentioned that your range was 20 miles. That somewhere around 35 km. It can't be correct because that is almost next to nothing.
Hoping you will make a lot more video's and showing us some more footage of your surroundings. Such a scooter is a nice way to let others tackle along.
Peace,
Kees hello and thank you!! Agree very lucky to live here. Was born in the southern part of California, lived in the middle, and finally moved up here for music and different people. Although tech ruined the music scene and a lot of other arts here, the city is still beautiful and alive. Covid has every building on my block having at least a person a week move out so its down to its hard core people who have always cared and appreciated it. Even if all this sucks the one good thing is that this is a good cleansing of some greed and idiots that never cared about what made this city special in the first place.
At the end of March when I saw things were going to get weird I wanted to get a scoot and not wait not knowing what would happen. Got the Zero 10x used for $1100 and as I had never even ridden a scooter before thought that was a pretty good way to start. Not the best best scoot and not the cheapest, but a hella of a 1st scoot that will do what most can't. This is the 52volt. Just took to the track and got 36 at half battery, but I'm 205 with some drone gear and backpack as well. That 60 volt will get you to those easy plus 45+ mph speeds for sure. And yes hate to say it but for me, and this is mainly full speed like you see in all the vids I get 20-22 miles range always. Now San Francisco is tons of hills....so if this was flat like Florida Im sure 26-30 miles might be possible but day in day out, this gets 22. Now this is down to one bar battery, but if you've ever ridden you know the lag and zapping of the battery is not a fun ride, and plus kills it if you continue to burn it down like that. No bueno. SO maybe drain and kill your scoot to 25 miles max but for me no way I like to do that.
That 11x is the way to go for sure. Seen it on a couple group rides and it looks and rides just like ours....but bigger and goes faster and farther so its all good!!!:::)) Many more adventures coming my friend, just launched a new one today for you with some spectacular views of the city and more PEV's(I believe Alien Rides has a 11x on this ride)!! Thanks for watching and best to you my friend!
@@TheElectricLife 22 miles only on a 23ah battery? Is battery on the way out? Should get it checked
@@chefgav1 I think it's about right for my weight, my hills, and way I ride. Voltage perfect, no flaws it's just real world. Electric scooter guide did their test and got 23.9. The rider doesn't weigh 210 pds Iike me.. 2 miles difference with they're 180lb rider? About right. If you weigh 150, go 15-20 miles in flat Florida you'll get 40-50 like their advertisement.Thats why I share, true experiences tell more then stat sheets and people should hear real world numbers from real owners.
@@chefgav1 Definitely stoked for everyone lighter then me getting that good range, I'm jealous for sure! 🤘🏼
@@TheElectricLife Almost double that here (hence looking at the 11x) - was worried about weight distribution and ye old inertial force - seemed good on the test ride I did.
