400km On A Micro Boat Almost Broke Me - Fraser Island Part 1

- We're Back!! Fraser Island is one of the special places in the world, the largest sand island on the planet and one of the only places that Black Marlin can be regularly caught in less then a few metres of water! This trip pushed the skiff to new limits and was a real adventure, with both ups and downs. Really hope you enjoy the next few vids! Cheers Rod

Me to
Me too
I applaud your spirit! No strange looks from me ;^)
A comment from Zoffinger!!! Goals! I’ve watched your channel Marty since the Little red DIY kayak, even had the same model in blue as my first fishing kayak👍
Hello Marty 👋! It’s nice to see you here :)
pro trick : watch movies on flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Jayden Davian Definitely, have been using flixzone} for years myself =)
I'm only 4 minutes in but I'm anticipating that I'll really enjoy this. You're getting close to my old stomping ground. You should head up Cooktown way and fish fish for Spaniards and GTs near the wharf at the mourh or the Endeavour River. Bonus is, you're only about 10km to the reef as well. I've seen metre long Spaniards cough off the wharf. I once got spool on a hand line with 150lb line. I just couldn't hold it and was hoping in vain that the line had been tied on to the reel. Oh, Leathermans are guaranteed for life. I always carry my Rebar.
But don't bring that little boat, its a bit small for the lizard's
Saltwater crocodile numbers continue to increase around Australia's tropical coast so definitely avoid any sort of small boat activity.
@@peterhavord5984 no doubt!
Dear Rokkit Kit. Thanks for living the dream for those who are still yet chained, but who are endeavouring to break free. Please pal. The suspense is life threatening. When can we expect the next installment. Thanks. G
Haha, not sure if the dream is quite achieved... work, kids and family stuff is still the priority for sure, but I cant complain if I get a nice trip like this in. Ill have part 2 up this Saturday around 8am. Will see if I can get the final part 3 up on Sunday but will see how late i can stay awake editing :)
When I was young a ran 120 KM in a canoe, in a river in Northern Ontario, I know how broken feels, but still made good memories. Imagine that guy that sailed the Atlantic in a micro sail boat. I like guys that challenge themselves like you and I, most can't leave their phone alone flfor day, good job bud, tough young fella, you'll do well in life.
Could I get one of those uplifting comments about myself too 😄
Big Trip Rod !!
High expectations, Great weather !!!
Fingers Crossed for a Baby Black coming your way !!!
Looking forward to Pt 2.
Looking forward to the next instalment.
Thanks Andy! yep next one coming this Saturday. Maybe part 3 Sunday if I can push through the editing... Man the special trips take so long!
I used to go fishing with a tohatsu 9.8HP, a tank of fuel, rods, baits, lifejack, foods, many many things. Your video reminds me of that.
There's a thin line between adventure and lunacy. I believe that you've smashed through that line.
No way! I think we can go way crazier :)
I love this comment
@@rokkitkit hell yes you can mate I would love to see you go way crazy
Red Fish

Pretty sweet adventure! I know you've got hours and hours of footage to edit.... Can't wait to see more!
Don’t know much about these small boats but I absolutely love Fraser Island cheers from Oklahoma, USA
what an epic trip! cant wait to see part 2
that's where I grew up and learnt to fish. the sandy straights are amazing to fish, its making me homesick
Thanks mate, yep it’s a pretty amazing part of the world for sure, I’ll definitely be heading back soon.
Cant wait for the next upload Rod. This vid reminds me of Josh Holmes' trips on his Hobie Adventure Island yearly to Fraser. a lot of good fish caught, spaniards, big goldens, cobia, longtail, the list goes on.
Yea I used to talk to Paulo one of the guys that would go on the trip with them that live up this way. Always got me excited to do the trip up. Such a great spot👌
Yewwwww! 20K subscribers Rod, good on ya Bro! Just so you know, your skiff is much better and far more versatile than most of those other larger boats. Another great vid. Can't wait for part 2!
Thanks Bill, yea once you get all the gear there is actually pretty comfortable craft and can do most trips. Also good when the tide goes out and you can still drag it to the water if needed👌
The quality of your videos are getting incredible mate. At times I feel I’m watching a movie. A good one at that. Cheers! Keep them coming
Haha, thanks mate, nice of you to say that!
Keen to see you hook a marlin in that thing...lokking forward to part 2👍🎣
Catch mum marlin and you got yourself a ski 😂👍
+lindsay obrien I was figuring we would never see a catch video part 2 until he mentioned he was going after juvenile fish. I thought "he's definitely going to die when he hooks a decent fish."
Yeah that was my leather man,I left in the glove box..lol
Haha, if you can tell me the type of car and the street name I send it back :)
Epic footage there Rob, can't wait to watch the rest of this trip!
This video deserves wayyy more views! Good job buddy from the other side of the pond!
Awesome channel, can't believe I just found it. I have a lot of videos to watch now. Keep up the great content.
I can't wait to travel/fish in Australia/New Zealand one day.
Cheers.
Thanks for tuning in mate👍
I visited Fraser Island many many years ago and it is still fresh in my memory. What an amazing beautiful place. I would have loved to go fishing there, but didn't have time.
Great little boat, can't wait for you to catch something big keen for part two!!
Mate such a tease! Keen for part 2 etc, but in seriousness take the time you need, you're an artist and art takes time.
Haha, cheers mate. Will aim to get part 2 and final part 3 done and up for next weekend.
Good to see you back. I also have that Leatherman and have had mine for more than 20 years. Use it all the time.
Uh! All excited to watch and.... it’s over.
OK...let's hope in part 2 you catch a fish!!!! Good to hear some quality audio
Dig it, getting my head around a trip in October and November
Amazing video RodKITKIT I love the Fraser Island fishing videos and I love the footage, the content, and the CZcams channel RodKITKIT Keep up the amazing work RodKITKIT !! RodKITKIT you are my Favourite fisherman in the whole wide world !! And also RodKITKIT you are my idol fisherman as well !! I can’t wait for the Fraser Island part 2 !!

Hello, I'm from Malaysia. I've watched all your videos. it was great!!
Great set up mate. Something different. Gets along alright. Enjoyed watching. 😃🐟🐟🐟👍
That is really a nice boat
Great video as usual and just like you I found a Swiss army knife when I was fly-fishing more than 20 yrs ago and still using it as my go-to tool, go figure.
Can't wait to see the rest Rod! Great stuff mate looks like so much fun!
Awesome mate. Can’t wait for the rest to drop!
LoL @ him cutting the trigger grip off his bait caster rod!!
😅😂🤣😂🤣
I think i would have cut a nitch in my rod holder, before i buggered up and compromised my rod by customizing it in ANY way, especially by way of removing parts with a saw. LoL. But hey...he knows what he's doing, usually 😉
Watching this video made me feel as if it were me going on the trip...awesome my brother...respect
the footage is getting better and better
My stomping grounds. Would have thought it was a little early for marlin. Cant wait to see the next video
Yea early in the season but still worth a shot 👍
My Leatherman goes wherever I go, and has for over 25 years. Great video.
As Always a great vid!
Yeeeeeew!!
Super video dude! 😁👐👐👐
Love it!
Love your vids mate. Always look forward to them.
Love the PENNs I have a pile of Spinfishers myself. Great reels.
Really love your videos man.. Thanks
I've been waiting a long time to give this one a watch and today there is absolutely nothing interesting on my CZcams so I guess I'm going to Frasier Island.
Can't wait to see the rest of this trip brotha! Safe travels
I know its too late but take a look if your outboard has a power outlet most of them do all you have to do is add a rectifier/regulator in small outboards its just a few watts but it will keep your batterys charged
So existed for this new video and couldn't wait part 2
Next week part 2 and final part 3 over the weekend👍
The birds outside your place sound awesome.
So good, that intro was magical man. Can't wait for the next one!
Dude...left us hanging !! You bad ass bro. Waiting for the next post.
Awesome vid roKKIT can’t wait for that marlin and stay safe :)
So sick. Cant wait to see what comes next! I have been keen to try the same trip at some stage after watching all the hobie AI guys slaying up there.
🇺🇸Awesome video, great camera work, what an adventure! Glad to see you’re living life thanks for letting us have a peek. Have a great day, keep up the great work, stay adventurous we need more people like you!🇺🇸
Very nice! Cant wait to on my skiff for a whole day....just weather is not that good at all these last few weeks. Good luck !
Cheers mate, yea weather is pretty average here at the moment... will clear up soon hopefully!
I’m guessing your not still out there! Would of been very bad weather to be out there now! With all the storms we have been getting! Love the photo you have taken! Wow! If we knew you could of called by our place! For a home cooked meal! Trevor and I would of loved to have you! Anyway hope you had a magical trip! Fraser Island is one big island man!
Was last weekend, yes glad I lucked out with the weather. This week would have been a problem. Thanks for the offer of a meal too😁
Jeeez now you got me keen on the next one mate....yeeew!
Hey Rob Paul here from The Hook and The Cook loved this clip buddy.
I know what it’s like to film for two days and no fish but that’s what makes it real well done should hook up for Calab one day living up here in Noosa now cheers
Great channel 👍
Thanks mate, yea was feeling the pressure after 2 days of nothing for sure. Might hit you up if the m up Noosa way.
Hey Rob you can always contact me or pm on our Face book page buddy have a good one. Alway good for the channel to do a calab we have about the same subs. Just bought a new boat perfect all rounder. Pick it up in Two weeks can’t wait. Cheers for getting back have a good one 👍
Can't wait for part 2
I have something similar but it’s inflatable! I get tons of compliments. I have only got 1 negative comment “get a real boat”. I don’t give a dam what they think 🤔. It’s all about exceeding the limits and having fun. Looking forward for part 2.
That’s it mate, I’m having fun that’s for sure 👍
Beautiful intro champ can’t wait to see you hook up on a big one
Next week part 2 and final part 3 over the weekend👍
Man that made me want to pack some gear and hit the water. Great video mate, what a set up!
Another great video, Going the Distance with the Skiff....
The only problem with that Leatherman is that you have to open a blade halfway to close another. When I was a kid that caused me to get 6 stitches in my thumb on Christmas morning! Haven’t seen one since lol
Get in, I had a feeling we'd get a vid today.🎣
Back into it from here on in👍
And a place I was in 2005.
At least ye survived the tigers.
Stoked for part 2
she's still floating! ;) looking forward to seeing the next part
Yea she took the weigh pretty well 👍
The Leatherman Super Tool 300 is my favorite.
Absolutely fantastic adventure! Love your boat, mate and Looking forward to seeing more. 👍
3:50 Jinxed yourself! Glad you're okay and can keep making videos
Incredible as always!
This should be picked up by a cable TV network !. Looking forward to Part 2.
Haha, thanks Mal, funnily enough I think over the next few years things like CZcams, Twitch and Streaming services like Netflicks and Prime will dominate regular TV and Cable in a big way... if they aren't already. Will be interesting to see how the TV shows and all their sponsors attempt to make the switch... interesting times ahead, as the fishing industry seems to be one of the slowest to take new media seriously, but it is upon them now in a big way.
Like your video because it shows a sense of adventure and a great location. Other fishing shows can get a bit dull. The good shows are more like travel documentaries with a fishing theme. Your video reminds me of the first Leyland Brothers documentary where they jumped in a small boat with a cheap movie camera and went off in search of adventure.
Shes a wild and unforgiving place Fraser mate. Our little crew lost 2 boats on our first 10 day trip there and 2nd trip was cut 6 days short by the weather. But i caught that little black marlin in shallow water so it was all worth it
Yea I got super lucky with weather, fishing was super slow through
Nice intro, looking forward to the rest of the vids mate 👍👍👍 champion 👍👍👍
Yea boy love all ya vids
You will have an epic trip soon m8
Good luck on your trip mate love your vids!!!
This looks like it'll be a pretty tops adventure. Gotta sub to see how it plays out.
Hey rod, my vid is up and ur in it hahah good to meet ya,
Haha, sweet mate will head over and check it out👍 great to meet you guys on the trip. You will make an appearance I’d say in one of the later vids👌
👍 been waiting for this👍
Great film. Great adventure
maaatee this is genus !!!!
Uploaded 10 mins ago. you already know i'm here :) Nice one Rod yewww....
Nice one mate! Thanks for always tuning in 🏆
Anytime mate, can't wait for part two. What an adventure! :)
Well this isn't for the inebriated folk. Cheers and best of luck ttyn.
This place is beautiful!
Awesome vid
First one I’ve seen
Of urs
Recognised that voice and laugh as soon as I started watchin 🐟
Haha, welcome aboard mate🤙
Go fishing of the beach there for whiting with blood worms next to the jetty cast very small 5 meters and you’ll get tons of them.
You know you're nuts right 🇬🇧good luck brother
Haha, seemed like a normal thing to do :)
Loved that intro! Keep it up mate
Never to be seen again after leaving the harbor. Some say if you strap an engine to a surf board and go out at night during a full moon, you may run into him.
Goals :)
@@rokkitkit I think what you've done is awesome, I'm just not sure everyone has your determination. Great job.
I think Leatherman tools are used by Ocean Conservation Namibia to rescue seals (they have a CZcams channel)
Those Leatherman are sweet If I carry mine everyday I'd be able to use it everyday !
I've got a Gerber MP600 multi tool that I found laying in a parking lot about 10-years ago...and between it, and my Victorinox Deluxe Tinker pocketknife...I've got a 'whole field tool set'...but I think I'd take a V-hull over the skiff for open-water fishing...me and canoes have a VERY BAD HISTORY...(I've left more wallets on the bottom of lakes and rivers, than I can count)...
SHARK .....................................................SHARK BRAVE BLOKE
Haha, yep no lack of sharks at Fraser thats for sure
Cant wait for the other parts of this trip
Amazing editing
wishing you the best of luck, hope that finger of yours is better ? Are you getting surgery on it or will u leave it be
Cheers mate, I ended up leaving the finger. Can’t take 6 months off work unfortunately
I have a leatherman just like that, exact model. Had it since early 2000s at least and just like you I can't even begin to explain how useful it is and how many times it's saved a bad situation from becoming even worse.
