Martin's delivery of "give me some ideas" should 100% live on up there with the performance of the legend Chris Ayres himself.
See this is why I love his freeza the most. He always exudes menace. Even for his jokes.
I'm just a little bit *_absolutely livid_*
@@kingmasterlord to quote Krillan "Oh! He's pissed!"
Agreed
God I love that line.
"Oh Frieza. Quit being such a woman. I lost my chance at immortality and you don't see me crying about it!"
"Yes Vegeta, but you see, the difference between us is I'll live long enough to regret it"
That is such an underrated line that I'm glad was brought up in the Season 2 Finale
I don't get that last Frieza part?
@@fireball1249 Frieza is making a death threat by insinuation.
@@fireball1249 He's suggesting that he's about to kill Vegeta, so at least Vegeta won't have to continue living with having his dream of immortality not realized.
Especially funny as I recall thinking Freeza was actually female as a kid. Probably due to the alien physiology plus the dub voice. Oh and the whole I was a child thing.
@@HitodamaKyrie yeah same here, I'm sorry but Linda Young Frieza is ass
Guru dying of “sadness” in the original was actually a brilliant plot point. He really died of old age but the grief of Frieza and his men slaughtering his people sped it up, especially since he could feel it happening. We were left to think since he died of old age he couldn’t be brought back… but no. Since Frieza’s actions took some of his lifespan they were able to wish back the time he lost. It was only a few hours but it was more than enough time to use the dragon balls one final time.
Considering the fact that Piccolo Daimao could also viscerally feel when his own children died it makes perfect sense
That thing about "fading into your subconscious, eventually" stuck with me.
In the TOP when Piccolo and Gohan are facing the hyper-fused namekians from U6, I pictured them saying something about "The voices are MADDENING, but they are supposed to face away in our subconscious, eventually" and flip to Piccolo, hear him, Kami and Nail go "ooooooooh... should we tell them?"
It’s like a stream chat in your head. All day long.
@@BlusterTheBenevolent Ohhhhhh. That sounds like torture. XD
@@BlusterTheBenevolent Imagine if there was a Twitch Plays for the Namekian they fused with.
@@BlusterTheBenevolent and unlike a stream chat, there are no mods, and you can't just look away and ignore them because you can always hear them.
You know them never fading would be another good reason the technique is forbidden. After a certain number that sounds madness inducing if they aren't willing to sit in silence.
If y'all did the Tournament of Power I can see the joke with the Universe 6 Namekians being mentally insane with all the fused Namekians talking in their heads constantly.
They are like the Borg.
I just want them to animated that scene where piccolo See's kami and Nail.
But change it so they're just playing pool.
"Oh, so maybe that's why the technique is forbidden."
It even makes sense since the U6 Namekians even admitted they didn't do a whole lot early on in the tournament, because they were still "too unstable".
Or when the u6 namekians find out about u7's albino namekian hunt
I just realized Krillin thinking his name is "Goddammit Nappa" fits right in with him calling Trunks "Mr. Can't Say."
Nappa was King Vegeta's grand vizier. This means he, until Vegeta came of age, was de facto ruler of all Saiyans.
If Vegeta and Trunks were to die, Nappa would once again be de facto ruler of all Saiyans. Dear God.
Plot twist: Nappa was a surprisingly benevolent and popular regent, so that the citizens of Vegeta regretted whenever King Vegeta would return from a “business trip”
Business trip means doing a little war criming for Freeza
i love nappa's solid advice in Broly. "Stab the Baby"
I liked the implication that a ton a races that freeza has decimated have legendary heroes that he simply eradicated so the idea of another is tedious at best.
If the Super Clorfour couldn’t stop Freeza than there’s no special hero who can stop him
@@bodenking “you’ve reached the limits of your wallet while I’ve only started tapping into mine. I finally realized the money grubbing legend that you fear! I have become the legendary super clorfor!!!
Martin's performance elevates almost every single line. From the most basic filler lines to the work-destroying punclines. It's wonderful.
He really nailed it
After countless rewatches over the years I never noticed, that during 28:43 Frieza gets TWO 1UPs. He survives two times during Namek, first against the Spirit Bomb, second against SSJ Goku
damn that actually was brilliant... i wonder if they did that on purpose
@@SHADOMEGA7569Lani said that they did not, but he now accepts this as canon to DBZA because fans pointing that out made that scene more brilliant.

The ending line for episode 24 is one of the most bone chilling line reads I’ve ever heard.
Agreed. It's absolutely top-tier work.
And to follow it up with Piccolo's "just one" is fantastic, TFS was bringing their A game here
I've watched this series over 9000 times, how do I find something new now is beyond me. I never realised that Mr Popo was humming "Because I got high" before. That's crazy. How the hell did I miss that 🤯
I've been re-watching this series a couple times a years since they started popping out the android arc... HOW IS THIS HOW I FIND OUT WHAT HE WAS HUMMING?!?!?!
I just noticed too 😅
Little Kuriboh as Frieza has some of the best line reads in the show.
ABSOLUTELY LIVID
“Please don’t blow up my planet”
And he actually thought that ot would work
@@idosarts_and_krafts he didn’t think Frieza would’ve been so awfully evil for it not to work
I prefer "Stab The Baby"
@@DaBossMn i mean yeah
The man has a nicely cut jip but, it's still freeza, you know, the guy that literally told all of the Saiyans to comit genocide for him, of course he'd be evil
Frieza:”*NO*”
"Just one"
Legitimately gives me goosebumps every time.
I didn't even think of that "SUMMON IT! SUMMON IT!" line as being a reference to that joke from Futurama. I feel like you made it so unique from that joke, both with the context of that scene and how naturally and brilliantly you incorporate it into the dialogue, it very much feels like its own joke for me. But I can definitely see how that inspired the line lmao
"I WILL MOUNT YOUR HEAD WHERE MY TAIL USE TO BE !" Is the best line in the entire show 👏👏👏
I’m partial to King Kai calling Yamaha an asshole for only wishing everyone on Earth back to life after Cell
I love that Frieza is too pissed off and busy to even bother killing Nail
I took it as him knowing Nail was dying anyways and didn't want to put him out of his misery, but at the same time didn't have time to torture him anymore
That and Nail seemed like he didn't even care if it did happen. He got the last laugh AND once he's dead there's no more dealing with Guru. It's all looking up from that spot laying on the ground in a puddle of blood!
29:24 Man, Larry is like, my favourite T4S member. I loved it when he played the guy who did the thing.
Larry's so kewl.
He abridges cartoons and doesn't afraid of anything

This is, like, the most "scorned spouse" line outta Vegeta.
"The Earthlings have the password." 😜My favorite Nail moment
2:15 At some point Goku stopped being the hero and started being the guy who showed up at the last minute to save everyone.
Basically a Summon, and it distracted fans from knowing Goku in Z. Fillers, and Super, were the only given downtime for the guy.

i lovethe "FOILING MY PLANS!?" call back. call back jokes are the best. and "oh sorry I'm jsut ABSOLUELY LIVID" lives rent free in my mind.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm usually more composed. I'm just a little bit *_absolutely livid."_* Will forever be my favorite Freeza line.
When Martin did "Give me some ideas" a chill ran down my spine. It solidified him as the second best English Freeza, Chris Ayres (RIP good sir) being the obvious top spot. He nailed the condescending attitude that Freeza was famous as well as be able to just go pure psychotic when needed.
Piccolo specifically want to be brought to namek to fight Frieza, he demands it in the manga.
Still dumb
Which is stupid for him since he has no connection to the Namekians and wanting to avenge them or whatever. Hell it’s a dumb plan because Earths dragon balls are back and that was the original goal and if piccolo doesn’t again at that point, it’s all fucked.
@@chazo1367 it's a character driven decision, that's just how piccolo used to be
Piccolo is only 4 years older then Gohan, so technically he's been hanging out with someone close to his age.
I remember short clips of Taka fanboying over LittleKuriboh, I'm so happy to hear the whole thing now Taka's clearly so inspired by him
The vods are available. I think some of them got moved to youtube.
To bad Bulma didn't get to see the healing pods, maybe could have made some for Earth.
I mean she already got plenty of Saiyan spooge
14:41 So we're just gonna ignore that Krillin wants a 3 foot hoagie?
I mean they havent eaten since being on the ship
The way Frieza dodge the question about
"How did you know the parts you weren't there for"
Nappa told him
The bad guy teaming up with the heroes to defeat a greater evil is one of my favorite writing tropes too. First time I saw it happen was in Xiaolin Showdown when Jack Spicer (Evil Boy Genius) broke the Omi and the others out of prison because he knew he couldn't beat Wuya alone.
And I love how that's what happens in DBZ but then they just don't split up afterwards. Like they teamed up because they wanted Frieza dead and then just never went back after.
I kind of wish Freiza also kept a count on how many times Vegeta claimed to be a super saiyan, based on Freiza’s response.
"Naaail, come and maaaail this for me"
Is my fav Guru quote
For me, the use of the Magus theme from Chrono Trigger at the end (and to those of you reading who haven’t played it… just do. It’s an incredible game.) came right after I had finally gone through the game myself for the first time. The use is just full-on phenomenal and an absolute perfect fit. I dunno which of you thought it out, but to whomever did… I don’t think anything would’ve fit better. Well done, TFS.
Quite possibly the pinnacle of JRPG's, nothing has really even come close ever since. It's just perfect.

@@MilanousMedia Both, 24-25.
4:40 "Sure is Zarbon in here..."
I miss Zarbon
So glad this dropped 2 minutes ago. Taka cuts are crazy fun
You'd think that Vegeta transformation giving him a x10 power boost, and Zarbon kicking his ass after transforming, would hint him to not let Freeza transform... but no.
Every time I see that scene of Piccolo’s first interaction with Frieza I can’t help but shout “ONE PUNCH!” like in the One Punch Man opening.
That Klorfor joke remains one of my favorites out of the entire show
That last line at the end of episode 24 from Freiza is just king cold.
does krillan calling a sub a hoagie officially canonize him as being from Philadelphia?
Jessie and James are the best pokémon trainers in that entire series, and I will die on this hill.
Well originally, Piccolo asks to be brought to Namek so he can fight Freeza so he can avenge his own race.
1:10 He had to leave an impression on the viewers. We were told when we were introduced to him that he was stronger than Zarbon and Dodoria, but we’ve never seen him fight. And now we’re glad that he didn’t get personally involved until now.
8:03 As Freeza pointed out after he was introduced, he doesn’t get mad. He has people do it for him. So what happens when he’s all out of people?
And yes this is the worst thing Freeza’s ever had happen to him because at least with the jockstrap incident, Ginyu was alive to bury the bodies.
11:37 I imagine that pressure got to them. Suddenly they have to make not one but three wishes before Freeza comes along to steal one or more of them and before Vegeta wakes up and kills them all before stealing one or more of them.
12:57 It’s worse in the show/manga because Piccolo is the one to tell them to bring him to Namek. Like why? Why bring Kami back only to risk his life by risking Piccolo’s life?
"Piccolo is the one who tells them to bring him to Namek"
It's even worse because the stated reason is "to avenge his race." The race he didn't even know existed until 2 days ago. Piccolo has no more beef with Frieza than he did with Vegeta back on earth, stop the bad guy from doing bad things to people he cares about. It would have been great if Nail could have taken the wheel for the Frieza fight, tbh, but he wasn't honestly much of a character in the original.
@@kevingriffith6011 It all worked out in the end, but man did they cut it close. Makes me wonder how Piccolo would’ve fared in future events if he never fused with Nail.
The avenging his race thing isn’t so bad when you consider that it’s more like two months he’d been dead. All that sitting around on King Kai’s planet probably gave him time to think about what it means that his people are getting slaughtered, and he can’t do anything to stop that. That being said, of all the protagonists Piccolo is often seen as the strategist of the group and the most level-headed, so the whole “avenging his race” thing still feels kinda out of left field. You’d think that the smarter play getting wished back to Earth to search for the Dragon Balls and summon Shenron ASAP.
"i didnt think bullets could hurt you?"
"Shut up, i'm sleepy"
Oh how canonically accruate this would turn out to be
I quote "I'm just a little bit ABSOLUTELY LIVED" far too often.
"I HAVE TO PEE" and "Bitchin, how we do?" Are both a part of my regular vocabulary because of you guys
That first little bit before the episode proper starts made me realize:
Taka could do a tremendous Sheldon J Plankton impression.
The wait after Cell's "Hello...friend," was a difficult enough hype to wait for, but Freeza's "Give me some ideas," _FFFFF-_
At least we don't have to wait for Taka's Episode 25 commentary to drop~
8:06 He forgot about the Jockstrap Incident.
Just as Lord Frieza intended
In regards to Porunga; "Damn! If only somebody on this team could handle ALL. THAT. BEEF!!"
“He’s alone now. Frieza has not had an incident fall apart on him like this ever.” Except for that jockstrap incident.
Oh come on, Guldo's already dead, let it go.
I just realized. The one ups he gets from impaling Krillin are what made him survive the Spirt Bomb and getting cut in half
Lets not forget in the original anime it was piccolos idea to fight freeza. So he literally has them bring him back to risk his life and the dragon balls again
Martin is by far my favorite take on Freeza
I watched 24 the day it released and Friezas “laugh” “Oh no by all means. GIVE ME SOME IDEAS” line actually chilled me to my core what a delivery
I always found the "three foot hoagie" joke dark because chiatzou NEEDED the namekian dragon balls to come back, meaning krillin woukd have screwed him over like this
Iirc in the original show piccolo WANTED to be wished to namek for revenge. Even though had he not met nail by chance he was thoroughly FUCKED
This first episode has my favorite dbza vegeta rage
For years, i thought guru in abridged was just pointed out the bad timing if he died and that comedic timing happrned, i didnt realize he INTENTIONALLY killed himself as spite
Real talk, "Dust this bitch!" is such a mainstay in my vocabulary, I use it all the time when I'm driving.
This is really a bad day for Frieza. When you think about it, now that The Ginyu’s, Zarbon and Dadoria are dead, the next best henchmen he has are guys with Power Levels well under 10,000.
"Oh, HERE WE GO.." May Freezer's dub VA RIP, but this got referenced in Resurrection-F or the Super arc of it:
"Oh, you aren't dealing with the AVERAGE super saiyan, you're dealing with a super saiyan GOD!!"
"Are we doing this again?.. Oh, GOD, we're ACTUALLY doing this AGAIN!!"
I literally just watched 8-bit Musics video on the phrygian mode last night, and in it he talks about Magus' Battle Theme. It is the perfect pick for the arrival of piccolo, tense but a little heroic and very exciting.
"dust this bitch" is absolutely one of my favorite lines LMAO
Krillin being Taka's favorite, while Taka's Dende hates Krillin.😂
Goku is DBZ is like Optimal Optimus in Beast Wars, they're so overpowered that the writers had to constantly make them injured or knocked out to keep them from just breaking arcs
so I guess Kaizer gets to voice Super Shenron?
While I know he wasn't the creator or anything but it would have been cool to have littlekuriboh commentate for these last 5 episodes of this season.
Littlekuriboh Cut please
I know I already said it in the DBZA Commentary of *Episode of Bardock,* but GOD DAMN IT I love Taka's comedy. He's just so chaotic I just can't help but laugh.
“Freeza hasn’t had a situation fall apart like this ever possibly…”
Well…minus the jock strap incident of course ☝️
34:55 I want to highlight this one comment on Taka's stream chat because, in Kamen Rider it's so common for the villain and the hero the team up against something bigger to where they abuse the trope but, it's so good though. Depending on which Kamen Rider series you watch because they don't always hit the mark.
Many of these lines from LK are just... so fucking evil and so fucking charismatic.
YES LORD FREEZA!
Thank you for the video.
The terrifying singing just gives me such first form cell vibes it’s absolutely bone chilling
the Namek saga is a great example for the difference between Filler & Padding. Filler adds new stories (fake Namek, Gohan's survival training), Padding adds runtime to existing stories (the Freeza fight)
Freeza is great because he doesn't actually bark much at form 1. He's the biggest dog on the block, he knows it, and casually rips people apart to demonstrate it. To mix metaphors, Vegeta's mouth is a check writing machine that his body has to cash.
martin’s frieza is the best by a MILE, love him so much
Martin deserves all the praise for his Frieza.
Those two extra lives he got from Krillin actually saved frieza. The first was being cut in half and the other being blown up.
I HAVE TO PEE! is a line that pops into my head a lot, naturally as it relates to a bodily function that also pops up a lot.
"I have to pee!" Is one of my favorite line changes.
Just the abrupt yelling gets me every time.
I also lo cfg e imagining Vegeta later when he's with Bulma having to get up in the middle of the night and yelling that.
what i love most about LK's frieza, is this:
his frieza is so vocally close to his Marik voice, yet his voice acting is so phenomenal, its basically unrecognizably different in performance.
having a range of voices like his, is amazing enough, but to be able to perform those voices in such radically different yet still perfect ways for such in-comparable characters, just blows my mind.
Taka says he thinks Porunga told Guru to kill the Albinos, but I think it's the opposite. Guru hated the Albinos, and because he created Porunga, the dragon also hates them.
2:58 when i first saw the "we're still on namek" i didnt think it was about TFS production. instead i thought the joke was about:
1. Just how long the Namek saga really is even before we get to the freeza fights.
2. In the USA there was a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGG gap between the release of the ocean dub and the release of the funimation dub. The ocean dub ended just a few episode before this scene, right when goku arrives on namek. It took years before kids of my generation found out what happened next.
What made it double confusing is the ocean dub didnt just go back to reruns of the beginning of the series. Instead it aired the Tree of Might movie as individual episodes as well as world's strongest.
So imagine youre a kid watching dragonball. You're in middle of seeing goku beat up the ginyus and vegeta mention the super saiyan legend for the first time. You know that Captain Ginyu and freeza are still on the planet as threats. Then the show SKIPS all that and youre back on earth. Obviously it's after freeza saga cause tien, yamcha, picollo etc are alive again. No mention of vegeta or freeza. wth? where did they go? what happened on Namek? Why are we dealing with more saiyans when vegeta isnt here?
and you have those questions for YEARS.
oh-Martin playing Sir Penwood in Hellsing Ultimate Abridged was another amazing performance. even for such a small role his sendoff in Ep. 5 was fantastic.
Episode 24 is probably one of my favorite episodes. It also happened to be the latest episode released when I finally caught up. And what an episode it was to be left on.
They bout near broke me when Piccolo came in with Chrono Trigger's Battle with Magus theme when I first watched ep 25, and I get the reference too!
Learning that Martin isnt using his Yami Yugi voice is blowing my mind! The pitch modded voice sounds exactly like his Yami Yugi voice to me
Nah i can tell they are a bit different.
Between the freeza line and the cell eye slide. I think those are the best two evil moments. Just chills each time
Oh no when he moved I noticed he has cake physics he really is the perfect bridge
I was wondering if Taka was going to keep doing solo commentary after he popped up on Episode of Bardock. Glad too see this
Well I mean this was streamed like 3 months ago, so the edits are gonna keep popping up here til it catches up
It's in this video, as Taka was going "RATATATATA" that I realised that Taka's model has butt jiggle physics
