I think that’s her actual husband from the photos I’ve seen on instagram. So the video concept is just really simple; it makes the song feel a little more real and raw. Whether or not something is “Country” these days is really just a matter of who performs it. She has other “Country”er sounding songs, like “My Church” for example, making her a Country artist.

Argued with my wife about if this song is country or not. I said yes 💯 this is country, she said it’s Indie/pop.
I don’t have a great argument and neither did she. I’m a huge country fan and my wife barely tolerates it, best argument I came up with. It isn’t what I’d traditionally think of with music I listen to, but it just sounds country somehow. Why? No clue.
Most people react to mainstream hits, but the real gems are hidden. You all should react to “Great Ones” or “Once” from Maren Morris. This song is nothing compared to those two songs.

'Back in the day' country was much different and more relevant to singers with a southern accent. This has changed with newer country. It has actually been this way for a while now. This doesn't mean the southern accent in country music is 'in the past.' It's still valid.
I was raised on country. Now I don't like the country from back then near as much as the newer country. There is still older country I like though.

I already commented this in my own initial comment (on this reaction), but it's worth repeating here...
I was raised on country and have heard 80s/90s country. Although I still like some of it, I don't like as much of it anymore. Not as much as newer country.
I will never say I'm a "fan" of any genre. It doesn't mean I don't like great country songs. Some songs, of any genre, are better than others. My 'preferred' list is a mixture of both.
Brian Joslyn the newer stuff just for any sound like country to me. And so much of it sounds exactly the same. Not saying there aren’t some hidden gems, but I think they are few and far between.
Your first sentence doesn't make sense.
If it all sounded exactly the same then all the country singers/songwriters would be suing each other.
Realize the fact that opinion is just that. As per music, it's a reason I communicate my preference. It's the facts that matter, when they're known. However, I can follow what you're saying and thus can say the "it sounds exactly the same" claim is true with any other genre. What's being said when one says 'it all sounds the same' is they're not really listening. This is one reason I like Bowser and Sporto as much as I do (and Bowser's kids).
