    Another reason is, for a book-snob/collector like I am, with $10 for paperback or less for e-book, I would get to keep them as opposed to merely renting it.

    Unless you're looking for relatively recent novels by Pynchon or McCarthy, there's really no reason to venture out of the 19th-early 20th Century Golden Age of Literature. Pretty much everything from before the year 1900 is on virtually every eBook service for free, so there's literally (haha) no reason to pay for any eBooks
