    I carry a CW9 and train with it regularly. When I first got the gun, I tried to chamber a round without locking the slide back, and found that it wouldn't. I bought the Kahr used, and had no manual, but I figured it out pretty quickly. Lock the slide back, insert mag and release the slide - no problems. I've found the CW9 to be totally reliable and very accurate for a small pistol. It's not my favorite gun to shoot, but it's my favorite to carry.

    If you read the manual it tells you to use the slide release when you chamber a round. It tells you not to chamber a round in the manner that you are doing. You'll notice the gun has a lite recoil for such a small gun. The reason is because the recoil spring is stiff. It is a trade off. But, one that is frankly very easy to overcome.

      @xuxianruan1778 Před 2 lety

    Not trying to be critical, but the manual on that pistol says to lock the slide back, insert a full mag. then release the slide lock to chamber the first round on every fresh reload. NOT to hand rack it to chamber your round. I don't know why, but it does work.

    I have this exact firearm. Just got it,,, shot it one time so far. Put 150 rds thru it. Winchester white 124, Fiocchi 115 gr ball, ISI jhp 115, and Sig elite 147 gr. It worked PERFECTLY. Overall the machining is tight, but that is good, and will settle after more rounds.
    As far as accuracy, it shot right where I pointed it. To be honest, I get the feeling the person in this video has played so many video games, he is disassociated partially with reality and the real world.
    If I get picky, my only issue would be the grip front and back (not the sides) is textured a little rough, but this will be a carry gun, so this prolly is a good thing considering in an emergency it might encounter sweat or even blood. This Kahr seems to be a well designed little firearm so far. thanks ....

    Firstly, the handgun is plenty accurate. I get fist-sized groupings at 15 yards. As far as the issue with not racking hard enough causing issues, Kahr says to have the slide locked back, then release to chamber a round. Also there is a 250 round break-in period. I like my CW9. It's been very good to me. Reason I bought it was because for such a small gun, I was as accurate with it as I was with my Glock and Beretta. To each their own though. Luckily we live in a time where there's an infinite number of selections for concealed carry.

  • @TheRushinConcussion
    @TheRushinConcussion Před 7 lety +3

    This pistol is a good gun. It was the first I have owned and experienced similar issues with it in the beginning. However before giving up on it I got some advice from NRA certified instructors and they told me it needed a longer break in period 1,000 rounds. Took about 400-500 rounds for me to really break in, after that the spring loosened up and the trigger was broken in fantastically. The field strip and putting back the spring became easier as well. This gun is also one of the easiest I have come across to field strip and maintain. My only gripe with it are the sights, which can't be adjusted and I have to aim the dot of the front sight slightly above the grooves in the rear sight and not directly in between. After that minor aiming adjustment it's accuracy is spot on, no longer a major issue. I am very happy I held onto it and gave it a second chance, plus the price/quality ratio is superb.

      Jessica, use the middle of the pad of the tip of the index finger. The idea is maximum contact with your bracing hands and minimal contact with the trigger finger in order to not disturb the sight picture. The fingertip is the most sensitive part of the finger as well so it is easy to train for that muscle memory for proper finger placement.

    @xxxbigbxxx Před 6 lety +2

    I don't usually comment on people's videos but this couldn't be more wrong. For all of you interested in buying a kahr, let me explain why this video is misleading.
    First I own the same cw9. Have for 4 years. Never any issues. Extremely reliable weapon. I love how accurate it is (especially for a carry gun you're hopefully not engaging a threat at more than 15 yards anyway).
    It has very low recoil. Most subcompact pistols are snappy in 9mm,this is not.
    Some people don't like the long trigger pull every time, I actually don't notice it and like that I have to really want to pull that trigger, it's not sensative,yet not heavy.
    The mags are extremely small, you can carry many of them in your pockets and not notice them.
    Here's a huge pro- if you live in California this is your best option, you cannot buy a glock 26 unless you're LE and honestly I think this gun is more comfortable than the glock, you can get a full purchase on it, yet it's very small.
    The price point is also amazing around $300. I've never had an issue with reliability.
    The comment he made about not chambering is silly, yes if you slowly rack the slide on any weapon this can happen, they teach you to rack your pistol with authority, no matter which one. It's not a delicate flower rack that bitch. I've seen glocks jam from limp wristing them... So handle the firearm properly no matter what it is.
    Metal mags unlike the plastic glock mags that can get stuck in the mag well.
    This gun is great for a first time carry, a female wanting something small for home defense or an edc. Go shoot it yourself. Like I said us Californians have limited options, I like this way better than the mp shield, or the ruger lcp or lc9. Those are the only other size comparable, and I don't like their controls or my pinky sticking under.
    My interest is every responsible legal gun owner to be armed and trained to take care of themselves, and their families, and this is a great first pistol based on the quality and price.
    My next carry gun will be an hk usp compact 9 because of 14 rounds and I'm an hk fan, plus LE will let me have that, and I won't mind the $800 price. But for all you Cali people with a 10 round capacity, this little beauty is inexpensive, and you can put 5 mags in your pocket no problem, so get your ccws and pick one up.
    OK bye.

    Just got mine today and took it to the range. Performed flawlessly through exactly 207 rounds. Extremely accurate as well. Hit more bullseyes at 5 and 7 yards than with any other pistol I have. A few people have said they shoot a bit low but I did not have that problem. Perfect size for ccw highly recommend. I actually started to rack the first round after 100 rounds just to see if I would have any issues and it still worked perfectly.

    I really hope this video is supposed to be funny and not a serious review, but I don't think it is. I've been in law enforcement almost 15 years and shooting all kinds of guns since I was a kid. I carry a Kahr CM9 off duty and I am required to qualify with it the same as my duty weapon, which is now a Glock 17. I qualified at 98% with my Kahr CM9...don't post a video ripping a firearm when you state that it's the first one you have owned. I have put over 1000 rounds through my Kahr and never had a malfunction. You might want to google "limp wristing an automatic pistol" and grow a pair before posting another firearm review.

    Yep I agree , the magazines are finicky on these , I heard the steel base plate you would have to buy helps or there is something to sand down on the polymer ( pain in the ass kinda) also the slide is so tight not being able to rack a round in chamber is ridiculous . Kahr recommends having the slide locked back then releasing the slide lock lever to load the first round , which works . I think the more you shoot this gun the better it probably gets by breaking in more and more . The magazines really bother me . But I have to say I like shooting it when it works and it is very accurate for me and holds well in the hand and points well .

    Okay, a couple of observations. #1. You admit it's the first pistol you've ever owned. This is a huge red flag that suggests you're not really qualified to give a good review on a product since you don't have any real experience - or at least you haven't established this to your viewers. #2. You juggle loaded magazines into and out of a pistol you haven't cleared. Yes, I know, I can look at the extractor and see nothing's chambered, but the visual is amateurish and lacks any hint of professionalism. Don't you have any friends who can hold a camera? #3. You claim the pistol is inaccurate, and I can see you may have a grip issue that a more experienced shooter could correct. I've owned my CW-9 for about 4 years now. I use it for my annual qualification. It normally outshoots everyone on the line, many of whom use full size pistols. Now, I'm betting I could shoot head size targets at 20 yards with "YOUR" inaccurate pistol. I'm betting you may one day be able to as well.

    All Firearms Are Loaded
    This means that whether you know that a firearm is completely empty or not, it is always to be treated as if there is a round in the chamber.
    Never Point A Firearm At Anything You Are Not Willing To Destroy
    Never cover anything other than your target with the muzzle of the firearm. Imagine the barrel is a laser pointer, whatever the laser lands on is a potential “target”. Always be aware at what it is pointing at.
    Finger Off Trigger Until Ready To Fire
    It takes a split second to move your finger out of the trigger guard and on to the trigger, for safety sake keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until you are pointed at target and ready to take the shot.
    Be Sure Of Your Target And What Is Beyond It
    Not only should you identify your target, but also be sure of what is beyond and where the bullet has a potential to go. Often bullets go through the target, you should always be sure you can see, or are certain where the bullet is likely to stop if this happens.

    I was shooting the Kahr P380, and that thing is probably the hardest pistol I've ever shot to pull the slide back. Part of it is because it is so small there is not much grip and slide to hold on to. It was decently accurate for such a small gun, and it was decently reliable too. But, i think my buddy paid like $750 for that thing with night sights, which for a polymer 380 seems a bit much.

  • @Jomamy89

    Aiming problems are the shooter not what he's shooting. I own a cw9 myself and have never had an issue with accuracy. Also there's a video on CZcams where a female shoots the cw9 and hits headshots at like 300 yds with this pistol. Like I said it's more than likely the shooter and the technique. Now as far as racking the pistol and getting jams yes that is a thing but lime you said it's if your not racking it all the way and I've noticed that after I've cleaned and lubed the gun it never jams when racking a new round in the chamber. I'm curious if you've noticed this as well after cleaning yours? (if you still own this gun) the trigger is something to get used to but once done it is a great safety mechanism. As somebody who carries everyday with a round chambered. I really do appreciate this feature. I don't have an extended magazine with the gun so to see what it looks like is great.

    This is your first pistol, and you opine that it is not accurate? I have owned 22 or 23 pistols, and can tell you that the Kahr CW9 is a very accurate pistol for its size and specifications.
    Yes, it is hard to "rack." That is a necessary evil of a "compact" 9mm because of the forces involved. Sit in your basement having a few beers and cycle it a thousand times by hand before you go into combat . Don't your break in the action on your semi-autos?
    As for your statement that you don't recommend the pistol? You need to learn about guns, son. I suggest that, in addition to a fine-quality 9mm semi-auto like the Kahr, you get yourself a .38 or .357 Smith & Wesson or Colt (okay, a Ruger or a Taurus is fine). Put some thousands of rounds down range. Try a single-action, too. Man, that is sweet! Do you know why you do, or do not, like a Glock? What do you think about the muzzle rise of a .40 in comparison to the kinetic energy the round imparts? About eighteen pistols in, I realized that "double-action-only" was probably a good idea for a middle-aged f$%k like me, who doesn't carry a gun every day (but will still will out shoot you at the range). Get some experience, and then, and only the, should you start "shooting your mouth off" about whether you think the firearm is capable. Honestly, my man, the Kahr CW9 will out shoot you, day in and day out.

    @bogushavis Před 6 lety +1

    I have one that I've put 1100 rounds thru. It's a very accurate pistol. Try shooting it off some sandbags just to confirm that the inaccuracy problem is you.
    Read the user manual. You should not load a Kahr by racking the slide.
    You must load the first round by using the slide stop lever.

  • @robertbraun4708
    @robertbraun4708 Před 6 lety

    Other viewers comment us correct! Read instruction manual. You MUST ALWAYS chamber 1st rnd from slide locked back, then use slide release lever to load round. If you use the racking method the round will often nose dive in the mag and you get a failure to feed jsm. This is due to loading ramp being left of center
    Kahr's are unique this way. Gun is quite accurate. You say this us your first pistol, so you are obviously a novice. Experience will cure that. Judge accuracy post shooting 10,000 rounds, then judge.
    Regards

    The sights are set up different than you’re typical hand gun. Normally you would align the front sights flush with the rear sights. But this gun has sights that are designed to look like a lower case “i” the two rear sights hold up the front sight. There are cut grooves on both sides of the rear sights. And they’re angled at about a 45 degrees and when you have an accurate sight picture it looks as if the rear sights are guiding you up to the front sight. Practice that and you’ll have a good handle on your CW9.
    Im speaking from my first hand experience. 👍🏽 good luck.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS
    @DARIVSARCHITECTVS Před 6 lety +2

    It's not the pistol that is inaccurate. This pistol may not be FOR YOU. The way you shoot, you hand structure, how the gun fits in your hand, the way your finger interacts with the trigger, all these things will affect your accuracy. It's not because you are a bad shot, but you may be inconsistent WITH THIS PARTICULAR pistol. Try several other pistols, and measure how consistent and accurate and comfortable you are with each. That comparison will guide you to the RIGHT pistol FOR YOU. I shoot best with an HK PSP and worst with a 1911. My small hand size and the way I hold the gun combines with the pistol grip shape trigger geometry, and many other factors that make some pistols shoot well, and others not well. Go out and test shoot until you find what WORKS. Try a pistol training course. An instructor may spot one or more bad shooting habits that could make you improve your skill. Don't judge the gun, judge the interface between you and the gun, and change that relationship by trying other guns. You will amaze yourself when you discover which one works for you as an individual. Best of luck, and happy shooting!

    I have only been shooting for a couple of years, but I have bought about 7,000 rounds of 9mm and fired off most of them. My Sig P250 subcompact has a 3.6 inch barrel and the more I shoot it the more accurate it gets. Of course I pay attention to my grip, my trigger pull (was that straight back or did I squeeze to the side?). Additionally, I shoot at you and lots of things around the house like doorknobs. Without ammunition, it is called Dry Firing. Another word for it is Practice.
    Keeping the sights lined up and keeping them that way while pulling the trigger is all you have to do, Watch a few instructional videos and put what you can into practice. Maybe you will learn to safely drive your Kahr.

    First of all, if you read the owner's manual, you would know that Kahr recommends that you lock the slide back, insert the magazine, then release the slide using the slide release to chamber the first round. Also, it's obvious that you didn't clean and lubricate the weapon before shooting it, since I can still see the heavy grease that the weapon was shipped with on the handle. Another tip that is included in the owner's manual before firing. I own three Kahr firearms and they are extremely accurate. Either you don' t know how to use the bar dot sights or you have terrible trigger control, which is apparent from the video.
