So if PIU cars have one key that compromises security of the vehicle as well right?
What is the code in Forscan to enable key fob programming?
Will it work if i buy key fob with remote start and program it using forscan on my 2016 ford edge SE ?
Honestly not sure about doing it with the ford Edge. You may want to check the forums or other online resources. I would not recommend buying anything unless you know what you're doing and know it will work before trying.
I have a 2015 police Interceptor and on my key I have lock unlock and trunk no remote start button, do all taurus Interceptors have remote ? Thank you
No not all interceptor sedans have remote start. You'll have to check the options on your car in particular. As far as the remote, you can normally get any remote that you want depending on your version of the car and if it was or was not equipped with a PAT system.
Could you do one on the 2016-2019 fpiu
Unfortunately we do not have any FPIU's at the moment that we can use to test on. All of them are either non functioning or sold. When we get additional ones in in Feb./March we will do some tutorials using those.
I own a 2013 Police Interceptor Utility, and I dont have a keyfob for it. The manual states that you must CLICK UNLOCK on keyfob before cycling on/off 8 times. When I just lock and unlock on driver door and cycle 8 times, it does not go into program mode. I need a keyfob so bad.
Did you figure it out?
I was able to make all the programming changes, but I'm having trouble programming the new keys. Spare keys programmable is enabled, but I'm not getting into programmable mode. Every run into this?
We have not had that issue. Can you describe the steps you've taken? Make sure you're turning the key 8 times, ending in the "Run" position. If you accidentally hit the starter in the process you'll have to start over. Some people were having the issue that they would turn it slightly too far, the starter would engage for a split second (even though it wasn't starting) and that was enough to cancel the cycle. If you're not bumping the starter on accident, you're turning the key 8 times ending in the run position, you're hitting the lock sequence at the beginning of the process and your vehicle's self programable mode is on, then it should work. - NOTE: This process does not work on vehicles equipped with PATS. Try using a key with no chip. If you're car does not start then the car is equipped with PATS. If it does start using a key with no chip then your car is not equipped with PATS and this process should work.
@GT-Industries I did get it to work eventually. I may have been bumping the starter. That or I screwed up the lock sequence. Either way, I'll chalk it up to user error. Thanks for the video and response.
We would like an explanation of how to install the hood sensor, please?

@@AG-xz4vf The hood sensor wire is under the fake hood switch plug. If you do not have the wire, your vehicle can not be fitted with Remote start without extensive modifications to the wire harness and ECU.
If you cannot figure out how to install the hood switch then this is Way beyond the scope of your abilities and I would highly suggest you hire a professional.
If my car doesn't go into programming mode, is there any way to enable it in FORScan or something?
Yes, there is a self programmable option that you have to turn on in FORScan. In one of the videos we have there is a reference to it. If you do not have the self programmable key option turned on for some models, it will not allow your vehicle to go into programming mode.

Tried to do my 13 taurus, I get to the 8 key cycles, it does the lock unlock cycling to let you know you are in programming but when I push any button on my existing key in the ignition the horn beeps?
Any ideas?
Will I need to go into forscan & see if key programming is enabled?
We have not experienced that issue on our vehicles. I would definitely start by looking to see if programming mode is enabled and if not then enable it. Outside of that, the only other thing is to make sure you have the right key fob and make sure your car is not equipped with the smart key system or PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) both of which could cause this not to work for your vehicle.

Car only came with one key, but maybe it's not an original one
@scottrobison5564 noticed your comment... quick question did u get the key cut already? And if so did you program the key first and then try the fob?
@gopaulsalick507 I did not get the keys cut. I figured I'd get the fobs programmed first.
Next stop is locksmith, they said $40 to program. If it won't work it's $20 for trying
