MIL IS A PIECE OF WORK. "I let you shop in my shop is my contribution." Her son must be so proud.
My mil had no input when I tried to include her early in in wedding planning. She literally said she would have no idea about any of that. Didn’t come to things, share ideas, or give feedback. TWO MONTHS before the wedding she blew up at me because she didn’t like something that her son and I decided on. Told me she guessed she was just supposed to show up wearing brown and keep her mouth shut, but that things were being done wrong.
What in the world??? "Yeah, Karen. It wouldn't be the dress she picked out originally. You told her she had to pay or it would be put on the rack. She told you to put it on the rack. She had to scramble because you went back on your word." 🤦♀️
Wow. This MIL is evil.
Spends too much time at the bar and forgets that she put the "gift" dress back on the rack.
Just wow to MIL.
My take from this was,, she wasn't paying for the dress, she was paying for alterations, if any were needed.. But,, BIG lack of communication though..
That's exactly why I'd ask to be clear.
She’d probably just left the bar when she offered the dress as a gift. Then Zion learned she’d given a 6,000 dress away (didn’t matter if it was to future DIL) and threw a fit. Rum soaked memory lapse on MIL part.

Get this exactly in writing with who is paying for things in first. Even before one shops even if any family member offers.this. One can just send a text or email saying. I am just confirming in detail unerstanding of what was said when we talked . In a exact clear and understanding writing. So all is on same page and say thanks for the contribution of this gift.
