  • Join me for a walk along Eype beach, in Dorset, on a bitterly cold, but beautiful, calm and bright January day.
Slow TV isn't for everyone - nothing is scripted here - no narration or music - nothing much happens, and certainly not on purpose, but that's OK - there are no sudden loud noises in this video and no midroll ads. Mostly you will just hear the crashing of the waves and the crunch of shingle beneath my feet and occasional other natural sounds. You may also occasionally hear the sounds of Eva barking at rocks, oh, and a helicopter; enjoy this bracing walk with me, by the waves, along the crunchy gravel.
Eype is near Bridport, Dorset (in England)

Shrimp, I hope this comment some how reaches you. Your videos mean a lot to me, I continually find myself coming back to them over the years. They're cozy, informative, and it just makes me happy to see someone as genuine as yourself find a big audience. Thanks for all the wisdom too! happy new year.

Eva properly dressed in the best colour. 👍

I love that the Subtitles are disabled, implying nothing is said. This implies you're looking out for the deaf/hearing impaired people, so that they don't sit there and wait for words when none will come and the auto subtitles don't put random sounds as subtitles .

This reminds me so much of exploring Lake Ontario beach as a child. I'm no longer mobile so this was such a freeing way of exploring a beach I will never visit. Thank you.

Mike I am going through a hard time right now, I wake up with awful PTSD nightmares but I want you to know that it’s your voice that calms me and allows me to go back to sleep. No matter what is on, weird stuff in a can or budget challenges or just food or whatever, I take comfort in hearing you speak about the little things that make life nicer. Thank you so much!

There are only 28 videos of Slow TV, you need to pump up those numbers man, this is a great relaxation!

Eva: "Watch out Dad! Iron bee attack!! I'll dig you a hole to hide in. Quick!!"

  • @silva7493

How very beautiful. I don't know how I missed this for 6 days, there may be too much meaningless drivel in my feed again. Thank you, Mike.

My grandmother used to live in Eype until about 5 years ago. She called it sleepy Eypee and this video has brought back fond memories of my time spent with her, wether it be fossil hunting on the beach, an exiting christmas when we were struck by a power cut or managing to watch the sailing from the cliffs for free during the 2012 olympics

What a lovely day for a beach walk, sunshine and blue skies! I don't know that I have ever seen a beach quite this terracota color. This was so calming and brought on deeper breaths

I was fascinated by the waterworn stones. A few of the larger ones, the boulders. Wow. Even the waves sound different to me. Pebbley sounding. The place felt like a place to sit down and just look around and relax.

  • @psychedelikchameleon

So peaceful and calming. The sound of the waves on shingle or pebble beach will always make me feel happy. Glad you can get out and enjoy it in person and thanks for bringing it to me while I'm ill in bed. I'm sure many many people feel the same way!

Absolutely beautiful. I miss the smell of English beaches, and all the fossils. I was born is Shoreham by sea but emigrated to Australia in '96. Thank you for taking us along the way with you. 👍😎🇦🇺

  • @pamaroonie1

Absolutely gorgeous beach. I live in the desert so it’s a special treat for me to live vicariously through you. Thanks Shrimp!

Eype Beach... home of the Wild Eep, of Mac OS fame.

  • @dajosh42069

Absolutely beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing this with us, Mike. As someone who lives semi-far inland, i absolutely ADORE the sea, but almost never get to visit it. It's lovely to see it in your videos. :)

  • @agelessorca

I'm surprised this is the first "slow TV" Atomic Shrimp video I've seen. It's very calming and right up my alley.

  • @944play

Rhymes with "heap" rather than "hype," I gather.

  • @QuiltedCloth

Love slow TV, so relaxing 😌
