0:00 Intro
0:05 The Service Stabilitrak message is on because the AWD system is not working (because it's missing the driveshaft and not sending power to the rear wheels). I asked the technician if he had more information about this clip but he doesn't at this time. If I have an update I'll let you guys know.
The vehicle will still move and just be FWD (front-wheel drive) even with the driveshaft removed and the transfer case not in use.
0:33 A fake exhaust tip that a technician noticed on a customer's vehicle.
0:41 The turbine shaft and bearings rotate in a thin film of oil. If no oil is present you will damage the bearings and turbo very quickly. I'm surprised it lasted 10 days like this, but maybe the customer barely drove it afterward. The technician didn't mention what kind of vehicle this was on.
0:55 As mentioned the customer had the engine at 6000 RPM. The tires were spinning, then the customer finally got traction on dry pavement. The shock to the differential gaining traction after the rear differential spinning so quickly broke it into multiple pieces.
1:17 You can get water in a differential from off-roading. Differentials have a vent tube and often get damaged when off-roading, or if you drive in deep enough water, water will get into the differential from the vent tube.
You can make the vent tube longer and higher up to prevent this. It's also good to check your vent tube and make sure it's not plugged.
1:34 First time seeing DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) put in a differential!
DEF is an emissions control liquid required by modern diesel engines. It's injected into the exhaust stream to break down dangerous NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water (definitely not meant for a differential lol). Always put the manufacturer-recommended fluid in a differential.
1:44 The technician said it came in because the blower motor wasn't working. The technicians found dog food in the blower motor and he said it smelled AWFUL and took 30 minutes to clean up. This is usually caused by mice, rats, or squirrels hoarding any food they find.
1:55 No extra info.
2:04 This clip was shared with us by a viewer who's a teacher and make's these for demonstration purposes for his classroom, so I wanted to share!
2:14 No extra info.
2:28 The technician said this was on a 2003 Toyota Camry. He has seen this a few times and it's usually caused by leaving food in your vehicle he said. He said they removed most of the interior and threw in some bug bombs.
2:45 This clip was shared by a viewer of his 1956 Chevrolet 210 with a Cummins turbo diesel. The 210 was discontinued after the 1957 model year to be replaced by the Biscayne.

People sometimes don't have the common sense to use their vehicles
This channel is like the “RIpley’s Believe it or Not” automotive version.
Your right. Usually I can’t believe it.
CLEARLY you've not seen the limitless supply of human Stupidity..ESPECIALLY the last TWO Generations of useless eaters
comment of the day for the algorithm.
Pretty sure you mean beyond belief
I’m a mechanic and I usually watch this in the morning to prepare myself for a day of fuckery
1:10 "Engine was near 6,000 RPM going from loose sand to dry pavement." I bet it took a lot less time to go from 6K RPM to 0 than it did to go from 0 to 6K RPM. Must've made one hell of a clunk.
...or shaving sound LOL
Sadly story didn't tell what gear was on.
That should not shatter a decent differential. Weak Chrysler garbage.
@@Sheehy223 Lmao, there is not a single factory differential that would stand up to that, mouthbreather.
Actually with his foot on the gas, it would have increased in RPM as at the point it broke it would not have any resistance to the motor. I would be replacing the motor or selling the car as soon as I can. But with the LEMON Law, you would have to tell the buyer it's sold as is and not sure what the engine condition is.
I'm at a loss for words on all the cars of the customers but I'll say the 56 Chevy at the end is coming along nicely.
But why re-power it with the Devils Fuel? :-)))
"Cummin along nicely" more like it
Took the words right moutta my mouth!
The fake exhaust wasn't that bad though. Didn't do any good, didn't really hurt.
Thanks
I know essentially nothing about cars (never even owned one), but I love your videos and I am especially grateful for your detailed explanations for what's going on in each clip!!! That elevates the video from entertaining (if you know things about cars) to educational for people like me. I super appreciate the extra effort you put into that, and am happy to be slowly learning with each new vid what NOT to do!!!
That is some of the highest praise for a video right there! A non car person loving car videos and the explanation, can't get much better than that!
That's awesome to hear, indeed the videos are very nicely edited and easy to follow for anyone, some are even better used as appraisals than some auto shops 😄. Keep learning and make sure your car won't get presented here, perhaps only in the end of the video 😁.
What's remarkable is that all the DON'Ts are right there in the owners manual which comes with every new vehicle, along with all the DOs. :)
Okay, maybe you don't get the manual when you buy a secondhand car, but like... we have the internet these days, and I'm pretty sure most manufacturers would be happy to send you an owners manaual (or at the very least, a link to download an electronic version) if you simply call their customer service line and ask. Some of the more extreme and ridiculous clips on this channel won't be covered by anything in the manual, but about 80% of them are... the majority of the carnage (heh) is caused by dumb/careless/cheap/lazy stuff like ignoring the recommended service intervals, buying the cheapest fluids/lubricants/parts you can find which aren't within specification for the vehicle, or just turning up the radio so you can no longer hear the clunking/grinding/screeching noise until something breaks in a serious and expensive way. When/if you buy a car, don't be like this!
@@sixstringedthing a lot of these things in these videos require no previous knowledge of cars nor an owner's manual. Like if you filled one headlight with wiper fluid and it didn't work, don't also try the other one.
A wise person. Learning what not to do from the idiocy of others.
These are addictive. Just rolled in-to them today. Knocked about a dozen off like candy so far. My main take-away is, now I don't feel so bad.
I hate when vandals cover your transfer case with duct tape, silicone , aluminum foil, spray paint and epoxy.
They got me when I was at work once.
You think catalytic converter thiefs are bad, wait to you try to get that orange silicone off.
"Dad will never know we went off roading....." Famous last words.....
@@chir0pter it bolts up to the transmisison but ya they removed the pinion flange and drive shaft. Super weird lol. Wonder what the full story is behind that one.
Looks like someones backwoods way of trying to convert 4wheel or all wheel drive to front wheel drive only. That's what I always think when I see junk like that.
Looks like a car flipper didn't want to fix it properly, and knew anybody looking under it would only give a cursory glance.
@@chuckles3295 you're probably right on that. Seen that a handful of times.

Dude the roaches in that Camry are nasty, I would refuse to work on it. The 6BT swap in the 210 was sweet 💪
Yea I need that for my Ford but the frame would snap 😂
I get payed in garage so who cares other garages would accept car anyways . If some not its means they got enought customers .
Park it outside for the day with the windows up after tossing in a couple of bug bombs. Then add the cost of disposable hazmat suit to the rest. "Workshop supplies!"
I would tell the owner of that Roach Infested Camry to drive that thing out of here.
I would not go near it much less drive it.
That is disgusting!
It needs a detail ma'am.
I always put DEF in my differential. Doesn't everyone?
Seriously though how does that even happen man? I'm less surprised by the front diff being contaminated with water for years than I am be the DEF in the diff. (see what i did there?)
Great videos man, and congrats on the growth of your channel. Be safe out there, and take it easy man. 😎
Lol! And I appreciate that and thanks for the support 🙏
Maybe they were thinking it was deferential oil.
Probably because, at a mechanic shop, things might be stored in big plastic totes instead of the original, labeled packaging they came in.
DEF...Differential Emergency Fluid. Use in a pinch or bind.
Mechanic left his reading glasses at home and misread DEF as DIFF?
I love how you sprinkle in neat things.
I always try to change it up!
@@JustRolledIn It's refreshing to have unique and well made clips videos in the sea of CZcams junk, thanks for the vids!

Their answer: "YES!"
These vids never cease to amaze.
and traumatize.
It's a fine line between both of your comments! 🤣
I'm leaning more towards "complete and utter bafflement".
Like, that turbo oil seal.... HOW? WHY?
I mean, I've made some dumb mistakes in my time, but I honestly cannot figure out what was going through the head of the person who installed that.
(Nothing. The answer is "absolutely nothing, it's just an empty void".)
Lesson here is to always have a good mechanic check the car before buying
Similar enough for houses. Make friends who are certified in the main aspects and ask them to help on a home inspection.
Don't forget to take pest control with you also.
Love the diesel mod and bug bombs would not hurt that car
I tried that with my first car. He didn't tell me there was no coolant...blown head gasket. Now, I can inspect cars, find most things that are wrong including previous accidents, simply put it in forward and reverse, and will have a car that will last me more than three years for under $1,000 with less that $1,000 in initial repairs for road worthiness.
Or exterminator
That's not what I meant when I said I wouldn't mind owning a few more Bugs 🤣

Thanks, Tyler! I appreciate that a lot.
Love the classic Chevy at the end.

Personally, I wouldn't touch that roach-motel of a Camry. At the TV-Video shop I managed, we took the cover off a VCR and it was full of live and dead cockroaches. I immediately put it in a bag, threw in the case screws, put it outside at the end of the parking lot and advised the customer. They never picked it up, so I don't know if this was a sick joke, or what, but a couple days later, it ended up in the dumpster. and still never heard back from them.
Roaches in a VCR? Damn that's gross 😅. That's nightmare fuel lol
Doubtful that it would've been repairable anyway as their excreta is acidic & eats into the circuit-board tracks & component leads, etc., so it's very time consuming to diagnose & repair (if at all)!
@@JustRolledIn Happens when toddlers put their sandwich into the VHS door!
@@JustRolledIn It's amazing what disgusting people manage. I've had people try to sell DVDs with live roaches inside the case.
Printer technician here, and man am I grateful that laser printers are a lot smaller than cars and only have a limited amount of open space under the covers.
I've seen some nasty ones but nothing like that Camry, thank god.
The infested car reminds me of my early days working at a shop. Boss asked for me to vacuum out the car and give it a wipe down….oh and the bug bomb should be done by now (as I was walking out of the office).
I came back in with wait….what? Bug bomb?
It sounded like vacuuming pebbles in the floor boards….worst car we ever got from the auction
Best way to deal with the nasty critters, because if disturbed like in the video, they'll infest the whole workshop & your clothes!
Me personally, unless I had signed something pre-employment wise, soon as he said said that....I'd of told him job be Damm, do it yourself! Not touching it.
That cabin filter was just plain nuts hahaha 🌰🥜

Been a long day trying to hang a ceiling fan. I guess the builders where drunk when they made my house.

'Sleeper'?
@@stevie-ray2020 More like "alarm clock" given how loud she must be.
That Land Rover diff is a good example of why you should have extended breather-tubes before you go fording rivers!
Usually it's wise to stop & let your engine, transmission, & diffs cool down somewhat before entering cold water, otherwise the sudden temperature-drop of the metal-casings are guaranteed to suck water inside (especially through leaking gaskets)!
From the factory the breathers are all the way up the firewall. It’s more likely that the breather lines were cracked or the push fitting was faulty
31 seconds in made made my night. Nice faux dual exhaust......lol.
First thing I do when considering a second-hand car at a dealer even is to say "Ok, let's throw it up on the hoist and take a look underneath." You always find things that they don't tell you about.
That bel air made my heart happy! Thanks for the vids!
It made me kinda worried, you never know what one might find in one of those 😆.
2:42 ewwwwwwwwww. I’m glad you give us a nice old school car as eye bleach at the end
Love the FAUX exhaust pipes...so FN FUNNY. That gear oil looked like tooth paste and 💩💩💩💩. Your channel never let's me down. I shake my head in disbelief always.
-Sir are these exhaust pipes certified?
-These are no exhaust pipes, officer.
it reminds me of self serve ice cream machines
I'm ashamed to admit 19 year old me did this. Couldn't afford a Y pipe and I wanted dual exhaust
2005 Camry Special Edition, with 4 cylinder, came out with an extra pipe on the passenger side. Yes it was original. I looked it up. When my brother bought it to fix up and sell, I ask him if it was a V6 w/dual exhaust, and he said it was just 4 cylinder. He hadn't even noticed it the extra pipe.
My Corvette finally made it to the outro 😁
That's one nice looking car!
2:30 The PD bought a sergeant a van because he was so huge (6'9" 300 pounds), but then had to get him a driver because, as it turned out, he had tunnel vision. 6 months later I had to drive some folks home because their hillbilly mobile disintegrated soon after reaching the big city. I took the family out to the van. Long story short, the van full of critters because the sergeant and his driver had been eating fried chicken every day and throwing the bones in the back.
They throw the bones in back for bait for raccoons.
Then they eat the raccoons.
Taste like chicken anyways

Ew!
1:34 He might as well have peed into the rear differential.

The things people do to their cars is mind-blowing. It is cheaper to do preventative maintenance on your vehicle.
My 1978 Buick Riviera had over 800,000 miles on it I had maintenance done on time. Then I retired it. I hope to get another one. It was the best car I have ever driven. I am 57 now.
Back in the day, the old timers called it " Rear end grease " Now that name would be racist ! Crazy times indeed. Thank you for all the great videos. Liked, shared. All my best.

That '56 is gonna be gorgeous when it's done besides sound amazing and fly with that very very nice engine under the hood. Amazing!

Back in the 80s I worked at Radio Shack and a customer brought in a boom box to have it repaired. It was sent back with a note from the repair department that said, "unrepairable due to infestation". Yeah...I suspected that the customer knew about that.
Yeh man don’t know about anyone else but i love these 👍
Wow wow great episode there's some messed up Parts on that episode LOL can't wait for the next one guys😉😎👍
That internal air filter was nuts!! 🤔😅
But how did the dog get all his food into there
The one about the keyfob and aux cord reminds me of my IT job. I have people tell me their headset doesn't work, and find out it wasn't plugged in all the way, the company CEO called me saying his printer isn't printing, and I discover that it just wasn't turned on, and one user recently said her computer wasn't powering up because she couldn't see anything on the monitors, but it was actually her monitors that were off.
I regularly have ant nests in my bus. The mofos start out living in classic cars but migrate along the A frame and relocate while i tow the cars home.

6000 rpm, how is this even possible? DEF in the rear axle? WOW!
The 2017 Trax I changed a a cabin air filter in had dead mice in it and the vehicle was only a few months old. I made a vid of it so you can use a clip from that if you want! HA!
