Team Roping Part 6: Throwing the Rope

Clint Peverley discusses what we have been leading up to, throwing the rope. So before you tack up and prepare your horse for team roping, everyone needs to spend some time on the ground, learning how to properly throw the rope. We discuss terms like spoke and honda, and learn just exactly what is a legal catch in heading.

When I was practicing every day, I disciplined myself to throw 100 good catches. If I missed, I threw 10 additional good catches without missing, for every miss. My practice, my good catches, using correct body mechanics got very consistent.
