The Berlingo is not the most attractive people carrier around. However, we love it all the more for this, as it's a proven case of substance taking precedence over style. That tall roofline and those square, slabby sides give excellent head and legroom inside, and the large windows provide great all-round visibility. The well established 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine and gearbox range has a proven record. The huge adaptability of being able to choose between five and seven seats is a real bonus. This car is truly the ace of space.

She's light years ahead of any other reviewer in terms of people skills.
I've had a 2012 model for nearly seven years.
Because I don't feel the need to impress anybody I have the following.
No monthly car payments.
Very low running costs, with super practicality.
A car that suits my needs rather than my ego.
No grief at the MOT centre.
No worries about it being stolen.
No need to hire a van when moving large items.
My next door neighbour went looking for one as his family grew larger.
Unfortunately now prices for good used examples seem to have gone a bit silly.
I have one of those. And it´s really fantastic to go through large trips. Because of the internal space, the flexibility of the rear seats, and the nice driving feel. The controls and steering design is good too. The visibility let you have a surrounding view that let you convert a work trip into a pleasure trip.
This is an excellent vehicle for people who want a means of transport rather than a cool status symbol. Our first one carried our entire kitchen in flat-pack. Our current one takes four passengers, two dogs, a wheelchair, a slow-cooker and a halogen oven plus luggage for four (for 10 days), a jumbo coolbox with perishables, and lots of other bits and pieces for when we go on holiday over Christmas and New Year.
The space inside is amazing, there are even drawers under the seats, underfloor lockers in the back and for passengers in the back there is very good headroom (you don't even need to slide across the back seat, you can walk!) Knee room is good and there is about 2 ft of space between the front of the back seats and the back of the front seats so you can even sit cross-legged. The rear seat is split 1:2 so you can take large items and still seat two in the back.
They are reliable and economical and with the 1.6l turbo diesel, remarkable nippy with a top speed well over 150 kph.
SOLD !! now i want want one :D
They are capable of 102mph, apparently.
Price
why does everyone say that the berlingo is ugly, i really dont think it is, especially the new ones like this
Have to agree. The old Berlingo's are ugly but I loooove the new ones!
It's all a matter of taste I guess. Personally, I like the look of the Berlingo 1 facelift more than the newer ones, and I prefer the look of the Fiat Doblo over the Citroën.
Some people find the Renault Kangoo pretty and cute, which I get, but I find it too much of a cartoon car, but too boring/normal to look cool.
None of these small vans will win a beauty contest, but they sure look a lot better than the first ones that came on the market, and even better than a lot of normal cars...
F.e. I like the looks of the Fiat 500 normal, C and X better than the Doblo, but I think the new Doblo looks a lot better than the 500L and Panda.
I can't speak for the Citroën range as none of the current ones actually fit my taste.
the previous one was a bit ugly but this one isnt too bad
So what the British can made better than that with this price ?????
fun fact: the older version of this car was reviewed by clarkson in the first episode of top gear
This looks amazing everything we need and do not have in our current Citroen C4 Picasso!
very practical car thanks for the review
2:00 "I could almost fit in there myself" LOL
Finally a car with room for all my bananas :D
They have to be moved up when the seat is occupied. The design is such that if you don´t extend them upwards, they will bother your back, so you are forced to lift them up to proper position, which I think is a nice idea. In the meantime, if you don´t carry people in the back, they can remain down there to increase visibility.
You could have also mentioned the deep exterior mirrors which make reversing into a parking space a doddle.
I sold the house and moved into ours me the mrs 5 kids 2 dogs and the mother in law loads of room.
🤣 It's 2022, best comment 🤣👍
the is also an hidden storage space under the rug in the backseat. They forgot that
My favorite car
I can see this being pretty useful. I mean if you are a student you can fit a lot of people in comfort and if you plan on going to a festival or smth. has the space... but not thte looks... if I bought one i might try and change the gearbox and engine... or try and get more power out of it...
Sure it looks dorky, but you can't deny how practical it is.
Even though this car doesn't sell in the U.S.A, I just enjoy watching it.
How Grip Control works in this car? Is it any good?
i drive a 2010 model Still going good after 180000 KM
Thought this van looked okay from the front until I saw it from side on though - front wheel sits way to far back, which gives it a really dorky looking extended front end.
OMG, I was in doubt between the Citroën and the Fiat, but I cannot unsee that awkward positioning of the front axle, and I already found the Fiat better looking before!
Well, that's my decision made!
(Too bad the Fiat is more expensive though)
This car was the first car that Top Gear reviewed in the first series.
which is better citroen or peugeot
Should do the new Merc Citan review as a comparison to this.
I was waiting for those bananas to appear 😂. Brilliant she’s a sport is our Rebecca lol.
You forgot the storage tray under the drivers seat. I keep my bananas in there.
I really doubt it has any chance with Skoda Yeti in the market.
If you talking about the new series, that was a Pagani
I'm a cab driver and the company who I drive for only has these Berlingos.. Well, it's a frensh car, so don't expact to much from the quality. But as she said, if you want space, take this car. Once I had customers who are musicians and they took their piano with them! There was enough room in the boot!
Bananas on Carbuyer is going to be an internet meme soon haha!
Why does it ALWAYS rain in the UK ?
The amount of storage in this car is Bananas!
Ok Sirs, it's time for the Golf VII!
Actually the wind noise isn't very loud.
Thats because it is a van! Now you can tailgate like a van driver lol
Do Caddy review :>
Bananas! Bananas everywhere!
Not shure how Mat feels about new handbag test?
Maybe so, but I'm pretty sure it was always a good seller.
fiat freemont review please (its Dodge Journey in usa)
Is there a AWD model?
i miss rebecca in reviews
Rebecca has gone bananas!
Can I use it as a racing car at the Nürburgring?
Not bad, but not a patch on my 2012 Sharan
the way u put bananas everywhere in the front oc the van...
nice car.
This review is bananas. But in all seriousness, I like the car in the sense that it's "cool" but I would never buy one. It's like the designers tried to do everything they could to put style on a box, without actually altering the box.
I'm amazed about how she can hide all those bananas....lol
Sorry Rebecca, i coudn't resist the joke, btw, i saw a sticker on the banana, did you guys buy by each one? Because here in Brazil we have a lot of taxes and the things are so much expensive than there are in UK and we buy a banana bunch by cents.
she is gone :(
How is this a small car
The best car for people with very long necks.
What a clever car.
Those bannans are driving me bananas
it seemed forever since she did a review
the FIRST series. series 1 episode 1.
I think they pick tiny presenters to make the cars look bigger and more spacious. I am 6'4" and I really need legroom.
the rear looks like a 1990s nissan quest/ mercury villager.
I'll take a Skoda Yeti thanks, even looks better...
what if you don't like bananas?
Don't buy them...
weeian31 lol
I love it when Rebecca puts my banana in her box. Fits like a glove.
It's the carbuyers banana test :-)
i kind of like her more than matt now! :P seriously!
The interiors hard plastic and doesn't feel nice, c'mon it's a utility vehicle and there is a reason for it, that's easy to keep clean and in the situations this van is likely to be used in that's no bad thing and hey it's not as if the Berlingo is priced as a luxury MPV anyway what'd you want it's a Citroen it's not the highest rung of manufacturers it's an economIcally minded light MPV so the interior quality isn't number 1. My dad had the old Berlongo yeas the interior could've been abit nicer and I agree that it is abit noisy and poorly insulated but what van isn't, only thing I think that's well insulated is the VW Transporter.
You could say, she has gone bananas! (yes it is meant to be corny)
Enough room at the rear to give her a comfortable, roomy seeing too
Look at the latest berlingo review, someone has beaten you too it! 😮
Venezuela called, they are out of bananas.
Hoik! Whats with the long fruit?! I'm getting turned on, but all I wanted was a car review!
LMAO, someone likes bananas:)
That is a nice van, very useful, they should sell that in the USA.
This video was a response to everyone who made goofy comments about her using a banana. Now, she used 5!!!
this shit is bananas!
certainly seems less primitive than the old Berlingo
reliability is not issue? its french car, 3 dots
Why is Rebecca reviewing a European Swag Van
or should I say "caravan"
the van is eh, I still want Rebecca to Review an Ford F-350 Dully
And now the carbuyer big banana test... =D
She definitely likes bananas ;)
Who owns the car...Donkey Kong?
This type of car makes me some sort of aggressive, Not like the New Touran or the new Sharan
I actually think it looks really sexy?!
If u r into bananas u should definitly buy this car lol
... You'll be very happy in this car :). (Whoops iphone keyboard)
I will stick to ma saxo van
what does this lady do with so many bananas?
Too much bananas in one review. lol but it;s lovely.
omg I want one!... the girl not the car
in im too
I SAYD CITROEN C3 PICASSO 2013 FACELIFT WITH PANORAMIC ROOF AND BLACK PACK NOT BERLINGO lol
Holy shit bananas everywhere
It is a very good family car, but the interior quality is rubbish. A friend of mine drives one and most of the plastics start to lose color, specially door handles.
I bet Rebecca is having a good giggle reading these banana comments. She's only teasing you.
such a tease
haha, good point :D
She really likes bananas...
What is she doing with these bananas? 🤣
Did you eat all of those bananas Rebecca? ;)
Rebecca drove the Berlingo, and found it a-peeling
she is the only reason i watched this...
I,m quite sure that fifth banana is hidden somewhere
there actually is another storage space! its under the rug in the backseat. (the best place to hide some drugs or in this case a banana )
well said! :)
Damn minivans...nothing reeks more of "now that I have a family the wife won´t let me have anything that I really like to drive for the following 20 years..." than one of these...sigh...
She's banana's! ;p Wonder if it still possesses that magic carpet ride of the old?
I wonder where else she has a banana hidden 🤔
