- "Iron Maiden are recording a new studio album in France right now!" This is the kind of news that have been circulating around the Iron Maiden fan community for the past week… but is it actually so? Well, let’s take a look at it.
Last week at least 3 out of 5 Iron Maiden members have been seen in the same country in Europe… in the country where the band has recorded several of their previous studio albums, including the latest output Senjutsu… which for many signified that Iron Maiden are finally back in the studio to record their 18th record…
So at first Nicko’s wife Rebecca McBrain started posting photos and videos from the couples’ vacation in Monaco and then from the South of France, where the McBrains have gone to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their wedding… which by the way, Happy Anniversary guys!
And this of course meant absolutely nothing for after everything Nicko has gone through last year him and his wife of course do deserve a nice vacation… but then Nathalie Smith posted a couple of random instagram posts from her and Adrian’s vacation… in the South of France!
Wow, that’s awesome, they guys are just hanging out together in their spare time, thought most of the fans… until Leana Dolci and Bruce Dickinson decided to go on a small vacation during Bruce’s tiny less then two week-long break in between the South American and the European legs of the Mandrake Project Tour… I think by now you guessed where, right?
So let's discuss what the Iron Maiden French adventures and see if it is possible that Iron Maiden is currently working on a new album. Here you go!

To sum up my thoughts on the matter: I am sure that the new Iron Maiden album is in the works and these photos were not a coincidence, but not sure this particular meet up was to record anything ;)

I think the new album will drop next year. Bruce himself said retirement sucks, so I don't think he'll be keen on pushing out a release for so long. They may release a live album for their 50th anniversary.

A couple of weeks ago, I read on a Brazilian news website that Bruce made a comment about them recording an album soon. If that isn’t a throwaway line and if most of them are in Paris currently, then the stars seem to be aligning 👀
I hope Maiden will drop a new live dvd for their 50th anniversary. En Vivo was amazing. For me Senjutsu was a great album, so I can not wait for their next studio album as well 🤘🤘🤘
Well, if Maiden does any shows next year, it'll be a small amount with Bruce booking up 2025 quite a bit for Mandrake Tour 2. So, with next year largely inactive for the band, a Future Past live album is likely to be part of whatever plans they have for their 50th. A live DVD is possible, since Steve picked spotlighting Somewhere in Time for this tour since he's always regretted not documenting the Somewhere on Tour tour. Possible, but not certain, since they haven't released any live video (at retail, at least) since En Vivo.
@@ThisICommand666 Absolutely they will probably do a DVD for the Future Past Tour and release it next year for their 50th. I wish Maiden would do more live dvds because what I love about Metallica is that they simply film every show they play and release videos or sometimes the complete concert for free.

Keep in mind, they recorded Somewhere in time within 3 weeks. So excited for new material and Bruces upcoming Solo shows!
I turned out to be a Maiden fan in 2022, so I have never experienced they feeling that a new Iron Maiden album has gone out. Super exciting and I look forward for some new studio album😃

In November of 2023 I celebrated 40 years of being an Iron Maiden fan !!!

I have been a fan since 89, but was too young to know a new album would come out in 90.
However from 92s Fear of the Dark and onwards it has been a big event for me every time they released a new album!
Sitting with the booklet from the CD reading lyrics while listening to brand new maiden songs is super nice!

1:57 Brave New World was also recorded in Paris. And Sensjutsu was recoreded in 2019, but released 2021. Anyway it is to short to record, as they are indeed having holiday break

Steve probably produces the albums more than Shirley so they will always sound the same.
shirley does exactly what harris tells him to. he's a glorified engineer in maiden. harris is the producer (no matter what the credits say). they need a guy who will say no to harris and do some editing on all the arrangements.

I saw Bruce live in Manchester, UK, last night. He mentioned something about Manchester and football, which got a boo, then said he doesn't give a shit about football, unlike Stave Harris, but he'd ask Steve when he sees him next week!!
My thoughts:
1. Senjutsu was recorded in early 2019. So it's 5 years of gap since their last recording sessions.
2. Since their last album was released on September 2021, 2025 seems to be a perfect year for a brand new studio album.
3. Late 2024 marks the end of The Future Past Tour, and since Iron Maiden is not a band that likes to be quiet, I guess, since they rarely do a tour after tour without any new music, they should be releasing the new album next year.
4. Unless they take a well-deserved break throughout 2025, I don't see any 'other option' for the band, considering they plan everything.

Senjutsu was such a great album I kinda hoped it would be the final one to go out on a high. I hadn't enjoyed a single Maiden album since Brave new world and was pessimistic about even bothering to listen to Senjutsu. It's by far my favourite Maiden album in 25 years.

Totally agree, Kevin sucks as a producer.
Bizarrely he can get it right as demonstrated on Brave New World. But I think a new producer might stand up to Steve and get some of the overly indulgent and too long prog trimmed down a little. Not every track needs to be over 6 mins long
I didn't really like the mix on Senjutsu either, but i think it's not only Shirley's fault! Steve always has the last word....

I suspect that a new album will be completed before the next leg of The Future Past tour, to be released as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations 👀
Scenario 1: They wanna start on a new album. Likely, some sort of like a week long quick meeting to talk and plan future things. From this scenario, don't expect anything soon
Scenario 2: They have got some ideas in mind [each of the guys have composed some ideas] and they meet up to play a little bit together and see how that can sound. This would lead to maybe a release in 1-2 years.
Scenario 3: Talking about the next leg of the future past tour and getting some ideas before the rehearsals I heard that will take place near the end of july and start of august. No album is in the works
Scenario 4: Preparing some sort of the future past tour live album. What recordings to use, which songs from the new leg they will use... Not a new studio album but expect something next year
Scenario 5: Just a coincidence/some nice time on vacation. The boys having fun out there in france

I think it's highly likely - he said at his gig in Manchester on the 19th that he would be 'seeing him next week' in regards to Steve (regarding West Ham's loss to Manchester City); a week exactly from this date Bruce has a gig in Paris but he could just as well be meeting him in the UK before he leaves for Paris.. who knows! speculation is always fun

@@michaeldean7220 Thanks for answering that. It was well known where the other guys lived but Adrian has always been a bit elusive. I know Steve had a mansion in Essex where he lived and recorded for many years (I think they recorded No Prayer, FOTD and X Factor there) before selling it off and moved to the Bahamas. The man does not age.
@@vinaymulukutla358 Janick obviously doesn't mind the cold as he lives in Yarm in the North East. Bruce's Chiswick house is up for sale but looks like he's had to drop the price a bit.
@@michaeldean7220 Jan is from the North of England anyway being from Hartlepool plus he’s half Polish which might explain his tolerance for the cold North. It’s like with Def Leppard (who are reportedly good friends with Maiden). Rick Savage is the only member who still lives in England having never left Sheffield in spite of achieving massive fame and success. The other guys live in LA and Ireland (Joe)

My kinship with IRON MAIDEN has been going on since 1980. My first listen to SAMSON, defo pulled the chair out from under me. Dickinson is our favorite singer and will continue to manifest his style whenever he sings. Go Bless IRON MAIDEN !!!

I honestly just don't know how they are going to come up with something new and epic after Senjutsu. How they are going to top that album is beyond me.
If they put the work on they are gonna do it. Senjutsu was done with very little effort. 3 weeks to write 80% of the music and record it. If they want to do better, they will, no worries
In retrospect, Senjutsu is the least fun Maiden record since the X Factor.
@@Jean-tu2pf Thanks so much for sharing your perspective. I think so, yeah. Maiden are studio perfectionists as are Judas Priest and both bands have that reputation but it is interesting how Maiden have approached recordings with unfinished songs and crafted something masterful and artistic from that. Somewhere In Time wasn't even written when it was due so they had only a few weeks to compose it and it turned out to be one of their strongest albums.
Senjutsu really isn’t that great, man… I enjoy it, but it’s far from being a great Maiden album.

During Covid, Bruce said that he and Steve were working on new writing (Iron Maiden - A Message From Bruce, 30th Sept 2020)… this was AFTER Senjutsu had already been recorded… so they’ve probably been doing work on a new record even since then.
Kevin Shirley will be a very busy man over the next year, if I’m right he also produces Dream Theater’s albums and they currently recording a new one with Mike Portnoy returning. So his “world travels” are probably taking him to a few places, which may also include France.
Also, Bruce had a 10 day gap in his schedule before the UK part of his tour

Could it be that they're just there to listen to some songs for a live recording? I mean, at this time, I think I would love to have this tour on record more than a new album, since I won't have the chance to ever see they play Alexander The Great live :(

Mystery solved - If you look closely at the social media posts of Maiden friends & family, I think it’s very clear that Bruce and Leana almost definitely had a belated wedding ceremony/celebration (having had the official civil wedding earlier this year), hence them all being there. Maestro Mystheria, for example, posted a photo in the South or France wearing hat & tie alongside Griffin.
I think this is a strong possibility. I think it was Nathalie Smith who also said something about "wedding attire" in one of her Instagram stories or posts, and at first I thought maybe Nicko and Rebecca were renewing their vows but that wouldn't explain Mistheria's presence since as far as I know they don't know each other. A wedding shindig for Bruce and Leana makes more sense.
@@faequeentitania it’s the only explanation. Leana also posted a story of both seemingly in a cab post-party with Nicko’s puppet where she seems to be in wedding dress. Clearly a private thing.

I always think “ok they’re on tour. When the touring finishes, then they will record new stuff” so, I’m gonna be very patient and just wait for a 100% confirmation.

Traditionally, vocals are recorded last, so the rest of the band might be laying down their tracks. I know they've recorded some records live but that might not be feasible with scheduling.

Where have you seen maiden fans talking about this theory? I wanted to know if this was my post on Reddit. Knowing that Bruce and Leana live in Paris, all 3 members moved to the same city during the same time period, it's hard to believe it's a coincidence

Unlikely…. Bruce is the middle of his Uk tour. It maybe that after between that and the start of the Maiden world, then maybe.
Let's be honest guys, we all know deep down inside us that this is the schedule:
(Its possible that they will record this year, but this tells us nothing for the release date.)
2024 - At this moment that we speak, in their website - future past tour 2024 has december dates, that means they might even continue touring beggining of 25, or even later.
2025 - We All want and need a live dvd (especially with alexander the great) and i think its gonna be their last dvd ever so this is gonna be released before the end of year.
2026 - final album to match with groups 50 year anniversary followed by big festivals and perhaps some generic live dvd.

@@IanPotts-lv6os10 songs . They sound kinda early days punk ish straight forward lots of riffs almost no harmony though. It’s also tuned in e flat finally . Lots of baritone vocals . Slower bpm on 7 out 10 songs as well. And the 10th one is like 11:45 secs very progy as usual -love it. The guys told me that whatever I seen at the studio to not tell anyone I guess these are my last words

Hey Bro, as You I would love to see another Iron Maiden album soon but I think the reunion has more to do about BruceDickinsons wedding. He married in Paris and then the 12 of May he made a celebration in the hotel that Im working in Saint Tropez. I could not see Bruce or the party because I work in the kitchen but he invited about 70 persons and people stayed up untill late in the night. My Girlfiriend works at the spa and he saw Bruce and the bride in an elevator and exchanged a few words but she isnt a big maiden fan so didnt recognized him. I hope this helps you. Well, maybe they'll pull a book of souls type recording... Having Songs more or less ready, record them "somewhat live" with rough editing. They might have decided to record a different way and make it simpler (probably knowing that their songs have gotten a bit "longish", especially over the past two decades. Imagine an album from iron maiden with mostly 3.5-6 minutes songs... Who knows. Wouldn't be the first time they do something... different 🤔

I think the new album will be in 2025. The 50th Anniversary.
While they are all touring collectively and individually, they will likely record bits and pieces during their breaks from touring.
They may take a few months off in 2025.

I think they were only vacation, they didn't rent a villa like the Rolling Stones to record something. 😊 They go to the french Riviera like other rich rock star ! I miss Iron Maiden from the old days, more simple and humble.😕

Compelling evidence. I wouldn't be to shocked if Maiden was recording knowing Senjutsu was recorded back in 2019. But, I don't think 2025 will be dedicated to the future past tour. Maiden has to no further dates will be added to the future past tour. So I think it will be finished at the end of this year. Leaving 2025 to ether a new album tour. Or maybe a 1 year, Ed force one 50th anniversary tour.
I like seeing them live. But their new music since Dance of Death has been hard to listen to. Brave New World has some good tracks.
First saw Maiden in the Cart and Horses pub in Stratford East London in 1976. My old school mate Paul Mario Day was making his singing debut that night. I didn't know that I was part of metal history that night. Wish i had appreciated it more😢😢

Funny they would be in France when I'm in France myself on a school trip.
I think if they're recording, the album will be next year with a new tour in late 2025, stretching to 2026. Plus take into account that both Adrian and Nicko are tennis fans and have been seen multiple times at Roland Garros. So most likely they will stay in France for several coming weeks.
And later this year the Olympics also take place in Paris... Honestly I can't see them missing an opportunity 😂
Nicko certainly needs a break after having a stroke. He recovered well but doesn't mean he could prevent another ? I wish him well 🤞🤘
I don't believe that they are recording new Maiden album yet. Bruce have very busy time with his band on tour right now. Maybe they start to record album from july to september, when bruce have a break from solo tour. And yes, they will not release it 2025, because bruce has said so already. So 2026 that will propably happen?

I feel Senjutsu closed an era, started with The Final Frontier, so I think and hope they will do something different, maybe shorter songs and a single disc album. Something in the vein of latest Judas Priest effort? It could be...
