Doug Gilmour, definitely a guy i loved to hate growing up in Philly, but was a hell of a player looking back. Always reminded me of Tim "Dr. Hook" McCraken from Slapshot.
The 1996-97 Flyers were a story of unrealized potential. If they get a key save or two in the '97 Final that series is completely different. They were easily the best team to not win the Cup during the Dead Puck Era.
Hextall vs Potvin, baby! One of the best goalie fights of all time!!
This is my all-time favorite goalie fight.

One of more memorable endings in NHL history.
Clark having to rescue Larry (duck and cover) Murphy , big surprise
1996 was a great year for hockey
Pat Faloon .....I remember

A save or two? They got swept and outcoached by a faster and more talented team. They were hyped and bloated.
The Wings outplayed them and probably outcoached the Flyers, but the soft goals from the blue line had an immense impact on the series.
He wasn't the best, but he is my favorite goalie alltime.. With a more consistently solid team year over year, Ron Hextall was good enough to win one.
