TBH+C is underrated, ive had some of its songs stuck in my head for years i fuck with that album.
Honestly it’s such great album with so many little nuances. Super imaginative concept and such a distinctive sound - I can honestly already hear it’s influence on quite a few new small bands.
I never listened to Arctic Monkeys, then Spotify played me a track from that album and now they landed in my top listened artists. Even bought the CD.
I definitely am not an Arctic Monkeys fan (had the chance to go see ‘em live with my brother but I didn’t want to) but come on, his ratings for Arctic Monkeys albums don’t go past 5 and he gave the last Olivia Rodrigo record an 8? I don’t know

Lmao Olivia Rodrigo can actually sing and write songs that are varied in style and relatable in love/heartbreak versus stalkery shit spoke in an annoying posh British accent. Arctic monkeys are lame and I’ve heard maybe one of their songs that was decent.
Yall will just hate on young girls unnecessary. She makes good music and can sing well boo hoo. All your favorites make songs about love and breakups, why tf is it such a big deal when a young girl does it?
One thing that Fantano always underwrites is Turner’s songwriting. Just brilliant stuff.

I agree with a good few of Anthony’s takes but with all of Arctic monkeys he’s way too harsh. AM gets flak due to it being one of their most popular and accessible albums, and is mistaken for bland. TBH+C is my favourite album of all time, but I completely get its not everyone’s cup of tea. SIAS I see how it can be forgettable to some, but I personally love it, same with humbug. The car again I get since it’s such a change from what they started with. All in all I think they’re an incredibly talented and versatile band and every album is great in its own way. Sure there’s songs like brick by brick or one for the road that are a bit mid but the highs are great. I obviously get people not liking them that’s fine, but I think people who say they are bad need to listen to some actual bad music, to learn the difference between not liking something and something being objectively bad

totally fine if people dont like it but AM is a near perfect modern pop rock record. slick modern production with very catchy songwriting, great riffs and melodies. Mixed and produced extremely well.
AM is just quite bland and boring and derivative in comparison to the rest of their albums. it's fine imo, but just surface-level and not super interesting.

Not really. Don't judge his entire work just because he doesn't like an artist that you like. He has good commentaries and has heard a lot of music. He's just a music lover who expresses his opinions in a genuine way.

I agree with him on some of these artic monkeys reviews but others like Drunk by Thundercat, Ghettoland by Jimmy, Calvacade by black midi, MBTDF (obviously) I disagree with these reviews but he still gives some valid points and i can see where's hes coming from with his critics i dont agree with. I think his thoughts translate a lot better than a lot of other critics who try too hard to be funny and dismissive of the art. There are more reviews of him that aren’t AM that are more thought out

Honestly, Fantano deffo knows his stuff and sometimes makes good points, but I just can't take him seriously when he underrates musical acts like, Arctic Monkeys, as a clear example, then proceeds to give a better rating to a bland ass generic pop record or some mumble rap crap. He fails at being objective a ton.

Arctic monkeys were one of the first artists i listened to and the intro to the genre but the more i listened to music that really stunned me the more bland and corny there albulms sounded until i just couldn’t stand it. End of the day just because something popular doesn’t mean it’s good i mean no one thinks drakes the most talented rapper but he definitely makes music for the masses
