  • This rattan living room set is taking forever! I thought I should upload what I have so far since it's been a month and I might die of old age before this job is finished, so here is Part 1. Lots of other projects have been going out the door of the shop as well. Most have not been filmed (check out my Instagram page), but a couple have. Another upload will be coming to the channel in the next day or two.
    Hey 👋Thank you so much for watching! If you enjoy my video and would like to say thanks you can now buy me a coffee! This will just help me to be supported while I continue to make these videos for everyone to enjoy. Cheers to all my wonderful subscribers! www.buymeacoffee.com/JohnsFur...

    I am amazed everytime I watch you work. This must be very valuable to the customer, otherwise it does not seem worth the inevitable cost of putting you through so much work. I love and admire that you are so meticulous with things that no one will ever see - places where you could take shortcuts and no one would be the wiser. Watching you work is very therapeutic.

      In lieu of clamps, wouldn't pull-ties be more convenient? Pulling the tie snugly to bind the repair area. Cut off the band when the repaired area is set. Just a thought. You are an excellent lady. Love your devotion and knowledge.

    When it's hard to draw pieces together with a screw, you can try pulling the pieces tight with a clamp and then insert the screw which usually will keep the pieces tight when the clamp is removed.

    Tuned in immediately when I detected the mortal danger ( dying before finishing). I love the ‘real world’ applications I see here - maybe regular world applications. • @chunkybuttc9107
    @chunkybuttc9107 Před 2 lety +2

    I love the stuff you do as it is old school and meticulous. These types of repairs are hard and if I may, I suggest hose clamps or zip ties (they make special tools that tighten and cut the zip tie as well - and can be preset so you don't over tighten them - where you can use them as clamps. I've done this several times for legs and other round stock that has been broke and it works. For really strong clamping, I've cut PVC to use as barriers between the piece and hose clamp. Works for most of this type of work - especially when trying to put a traditional clamp in a place where there's no room and hoping it doesn't slide off to one side. Looking forward to the results of this one.

    I had an entire living room suite similar to that one, women wearing hose would usually find runs in them from the tiny rattan claws. Impossible to dust. Relegated to the backyard, where it was no longer a liability. Carry on doing things right, even when nobody's looking
