3:10 is a heavily modified naturally aspirated engine. Not VR-4 but a great car.

      5:05 also isn't a VR4, just downpipe, test pipe, and a catback

Okay, I recently came across a 1992 VR4 that I might want to get. Unfortunately I don't know anything about it outside of it being AWD, manual, and twin turbo. What am I getting into, and should I get a newer model, like maybe a 1998 or 1999?

Hey man, the year isn't going to matter very much, really just personal preference between the look of the older model and the newer model. The main thing thats going to matter is how well it was taken care of. These are great cars when taken care of but can also be a real pain if they were neglected. Weather or not your familiar with working on cars can play a big part as it can sometimes be difficult to find a mechanic that knows how to work on them properly. I would look at the 1st and 2nd generation of these cars and see which you like the look of more and then try and find one thats running with decent mileage. If you have any questions or anything feel free to comment or message me on Instagram!

@@RostenDrives Appreciate the reply, and that's half the problem. The body looks like it's in good shape, but mechanically I don't know anything about it. MiguelDSM noted parts for the vehicle were hard to find now, which is kind of a deterrent, and there's not much room in the engine bay. I do know how to do a bit of basic DIY (spark plugs/coils/wires and oil changes), but not much else.

@@JeffOfTheMountains yeah parts can be difficult, it really depends on the part, most engine parts aren’t too hard to find, plugs, wires, belts, fuel pumps, and other things like that are easy to get on places like 3SX.com

@@RostenDrives Never thought of 3SX. I did come across STM, but I'm not familiar with them either. What other places sell 3K parts? I need these resources if this 3K is going to be rescued.

@@JeffOfTheMountains 3SX is the biggest place that I’m aware of for oem and aftermarket parts for the 3000GT, there is also NinjaPerformance but I think they might be temporarily closed. There’s a handful of other big companies that make a couple different aftermarket parts for these cars as well. 3SI.org and Facebook groups are going to be the main forums for these cars with lots of knowledgeable people. There’s also a handful of good buy/sell Facebook groups for parts for these cars. Stealth316.com is also a good website with TONS of super in depth guides on how to do practically anything with there cars
