      Not a bad list, but timing tensioner should be on there, and it especially should be OEM, rest of the items are less critical, but if nothing else, the tensioner should be. Also checking for a caved oil pan should be one of the first things done, there's very little clearance to the oil sump, people support the engine by the oil pan during TB changes (fairly standard practice to be fair) and it can cave the pan, and it only takes a little bit to cause oil starvation (leading to spun bearings) since the sump clearance is so small to begin with.

    Look up "free boost mod" for first gen engines. Gives you the 320 hp of the 2nd gen by increasing the diameter of a vacuum line on the wastegate solenoid. You just pull a small plug from the connector and voila. No supporting mods or reflash needed.

    After owning a total of 6 TT Dodge stealths same as the 3000GT VR4. Maintenance comes first and then the first mod is the y-pipe if not and you run more than stock boost you'll forever blow that damn thing off. I miss the days of dynamic racing and Matt.

    I just bought a nice 93 vr4 and rebuilt the engine with all new internals, rebuilt transmission, super nice. I took the car to firestone for an alignment and a week later the driver side ball joint came loose when i was getting off the interstate on a 360 degree off ramp. Put me into the wall hard and totaled the car. I was livid and I'm still super salty about it this happened back in 2015.

    These cars are 30 years old and up ... Just keep them stock and dont go pushing hp/boost and ruining them... If you want horsepower, then go buy an hellcat or something similar... Just enjoy the cars as they are fantastisc pieces of technology from a time where similar cars were miles behind.

      Realistically you're going to have to go out of state. I live in PA and got mine from NY, and I still had to compromise, wanted a green 93 vr4 with moonroof, wound up with a red one. Which something like 50% of these were red, it grew on me though, still think I would have liked green better. But now it's purple anyways which is better than either, as it's my favorite color, lol.

    I’m about to buy a NA 3000gt people are telling me the parts are expensive maintenace is high what parts are making the 3000gt expensive what makes it expensive?

    • @RostenDrives
      @RostenDrives  Před 3 měsíci

      It really depends, I wouldn’t say these cars are crazy expensive to maintain, but it depends a lot of the condition of the car and what all you need to replace. Since these cars are like 30 years old there’s a lot of them out there that haven’t been taken care of very well so they end up needing a lot of stuff replaced and that can add up quick. An NA 3000gt is also going to be easier and cheaper to maintain the a turbo model. If these cars are taken care of and maintained properly then the maintenance really isn’t that bad at all in my experience. Oem parts that are no longer being made can get expensive and hard to find, but there’s lots of parts out there that are actually pretty reasonably priced.
