- The great and very popular hymn 'Love divine, all loves excelling' is most often sung these days to the fine Welsh tune 'Blaenwern’. The hymn - with this tune - was one of the musical items at the wedding of Caritasian Sarah Winter to Richard on this weekend exactly a year ago in St Davids Cathedral, Pembrokeshire. The choir for the wedding was made up of Caritas members.
In this recording we sing two verses of this hymn, recently recorded in the superb acoustic of St German's Church, Cardiff, with Sarah herself singing on the front row. The second verse features a descant composed especially for the wedding by our Director, Lindsay Gray.

The 3rd last line (1m 50s) 'Till in heaven we take our place' is a gobsmackingly beautiful descant.

Thank you. It is by Lindsay Gray, the Director of Caritas, composed especially for the wedding of one of our Caritas singers in 2022.
