    Gerrard is immense and one of the greatest players to have ever been at Liverpool, but the myth that that Liverpool team was bad is ridiculous. Gerrard, Carragher, Alonso, Hypia, Dudek, Risse, Smicer etc. That team had some great players and I think we forget that sometimes.

    • @EyeMixMusic
      @EyeMixMusic Před 3 lety +2

      It was an uneven team. They had great players (Gerrard, Alonso), very good players (Hamann, Risse) inconsistent players (Baros, Garcia), and at least one weak link (Traore). Not a bad team by a long shot, but Liverpool's current squad has great players in every position - they were still quite a distance away from that in 2005.

      I'm sorry but I disagree. During Stevie's time at Liverpool I'd say he played with maximum six world class footballers, and never at the same time. Owen, Alonso, mascherano, Torres, Suarez, Fowler. Maybe Reina as well. The sad fact is that we had a generational talent and were never backed by our owners to compete with Chelsea and United spending money for fun.

    This is the first time I've ever heard a team mate say this of Steven Gerrard. No question he was Mr Liverpool during his time there, but he wasn't consistent throughout his career. His last 4 seasons there saw many Liverpool fans call for him to be dropped because they felt he slowed down Liverpool's style of play. Many also say that Alonso was better during his time there!! I'm not knocking him , just keeping it real!! He's doing a superb job as manager though. WATP.
