    I thought I was the only one who think like this. Good to know some high rank officials thinks the same. I am not a huge fan of hyperloop but I don't see any thing wrong in atleast trying for once (just on a trial basis) and if this doesn't work then scrap this idea or vice versa if works very good then expand this hyperloop routes. Not trying new thing, not taking risk will always make you a sheep (follower) instead of being a true leader. Even though India (as of now) can't take big risks but there's no harm in taking small risk it will ultimately give us experience and strengthen the courage to take big and most importantly 'calculated' risks . One of my favorite line is "With fear comes doubt, with doubt comes hesitation " ,This thing can be overcome if we have good amount of past experience

How much of our population even knows his name and what he has done for the country? When the trains are being launched. Comments can be seen like Modihaitomumkin hai and all. What about the person and the team who literally built it? Why don't we Indians try to find out ourselves who are the heroes behind the stuff which we use in our daily lives? Which made our lives a bit more comfortable? We need to change our mindset and respect these people. We need to show it if our govt dosen't find it important to show their faces to the public and inform them what they did, we need to make these guys famous.

    Hello PowerTrain! I must say, you asked a very good set of questions. Very happy to see that you asked about the rakes. For the last few years, I have seen that LHB coaches have started looking like Rajdhanis (Non-Tejas version). I feel like there is not much differentiation, expect that Rajdhanis are fully AC, food prices are included in the ticket price, and they get the highest priority. Even the max speed is same. I would like to see some differentiation in the future. It's not a new thing since Rajdhanis used to have that differentiation when only they were LHB or during the ICF era. I could look at the train from a good distance and identify it as a Rajdhani. Whereas now, if I look at an AC LHB coach from a distance, I would still be not sure whether it is a Rajdhani or another train. Also, the new ICF coaches color scheme - I don't think it is very good. It looks very plain and gloomy as opposed to the blue rakes. These are my two concerns, and I was happy to see that rakes were discussed.
    And also, very very good insightful answers from Mani sir. My respects!

Nahi hi koi scope in high speed rail. Abhi modi government ane ke baad hi toh yeh sab semi high speed trains lauch ho rahi hai. Aur abhi latest news ke hisab se 2026 ko india mai bullet train launch honi waali hai. Modi ne sirf 10 years mai hi railways ka chehra badal diya. Modi ke aane ke baad hi railways mai high speed rail ka scope increase hua nahi toh Congress abhi bhi I.C.F(Utrkrish) coaches chala rahi hoti. L.H.b. Although I agree with Atmanirbharta, we still need to create infrastructure with the help of outside companies to quickly upgrade our lack of knowledge on specific fields.
    Only when we have competition, and people start demanding more facilities and features, will our homegrown organisations actively work towards meeting the same standards.
    We don't need to look beyond what China has done. From depending on foreign technology, to making cheap unreliable copies, to now bring a world leader in innovation, quality and efficiency.

  • @gourabsadhu5400
    @gourabsadhu5400 Pƙed 2 lety +8

    Great podcast. But I do not think what he has told about rrts is correct. Rrts trains are designed in Telengana. They are being manufactured in Gujrat and almost 80% component is Indian. I fear if it was designed by ICF it would look very ugly. Just see kolkata metro trains and compare them with delhi metro. Moreover Bombardier is designing both rrts trains and meerut metro trains together so that they can operate on same track. The train 18 is not tested for running in viaduct with tight curves that too at 180 kmph and they are not designed for that. He was the lead in train 18 project and he would want it everywhere, but train 18 already has enough scope in Indian railways, it need not to enter in RRTS. If ICF was so confident about train 18 then why it did not enter in rolling stock competition for RRTS?

    • @ManiSudhanshu
      @ManiSudhanshu Pƙed 2 lety +5

      No one is advocating copy pasting of Train-18 everywhere. But the fact is before Train-18 was made no one knew Indians could build a trainset capable of 180kmph stable run. Similarly if Indian engineers were given a chance they'd have easily designed something suitable for the RRTS.
      It's better to have a train designed & manufactured in India, for Indians, by Indians instead of running to Alstom & others at every opportunity. And your comment about ICF designs being ugly is frankly laughable as even a hastily designed Train-18 is not something which can be called ugly. I understand scepticism at Indian capabilities due to a colonial mindset but no reason to believe that we can't do something which we have already done.

    IR has a target of electrifying majority of the tracks to electric to save on fuel. Also, IR has the target to phase out ICF rakes completely. However, the irony is that LHB rakes do not have alternators and hence has to have EOG for hotel load. So the fuel that is saved by using an electric traction is used up by the DG sets that is required in every train. So net-net there isn't any fuel saved by using electric traction. Sad reality.

      I simply don't agree with his opinion. Make in India doesn't mean that it will "ONLY" be made by an Indian company in India.
      Alstom is making train sets in Savli, Gujarat at the Indian manufacturing facility. They export made-in-India metro sets from the same facility to Australia and Canada. Alstom is not some newbie in India, they are working in India for decades.
      Yeah, if Alstom would have imported train sets outside India then his concerns would have been valid.
