Very nicely explained . To a novice it might look like any regular presentation but for those who do Ilizarov frequently it is a master class with all points covered in details like start stop technique , proper technique of tensioning & hazards of overtensioning a drop wire . All these intraoperative tips go a long way in retaining the frame . Thanks a lot Sir

I have a fixture fitted to my right tibia at the moment and after the initial fitting find there is no pain other than the occasional twinge from nerves. Surgeon told me that when he tensioned the wires he nearly had a hernia due to the amount of tension applied !
I urge any potential patients not to be aprehensive as a little discomfort is much better than losing a limb - it is actually more comfortable than a plaster cast albeit a little more cumbersome ! The 'normal' itch one experiences with a cast is not apparent at all and if care is taken then washing is possible but NOT in a bath !

@@brijmohan3898 St Peters Hospital Chertsey England, I have had some infections around the pin sites but antibiotics take care of that. It is going to be removed next Wednesday - about 7 weeks late due to the UK's wonderful NHS being all backed up due to this bloody virus.
