- This run was something. The 1st lap is one of the best I've ever had, 2nd best I've had I think. The ghost (a 1:45:3xx that I got earlier) had such a good lap one, so if I could keep up with it I though stuff would be free. The problem is that lap 2 and 3 were pretty bad. Should have been like 0.5 sec faster at least. At least now I have a ghost that is almost as fast lap 1, and kinda bad lap 2 and 3, as well as the ghost I raced here. Sub shouldn't be too hard, but it is unfortunately... New standard is something, next time we'll get the sub tho.

This is far away from the WR (that's a 1:39:485), and I could definitely get a 1:44. Lap 1 was amazing for my standards, while lap 2 and 3 should be at least 0.2 sec faster each. So I feel like the "dang it" is justified. Happy to get a PB, but so much more is in store here.

completely new to double dash meta, I only played it as a kid (favourite game though) - why is that character/kart combo the one used? which stats does it have that make it worth it, and is it also used competitively and not just time trials? or is it just for that track?
The barrel train scores on the top of the speed stats and lightweights have a better/longer mini turbo. This will help you move as fast as possible all the time. In some specific cases the bullet blaster is actually the best, but that's mostly for shortcuts. For the characters you're good to go as long as you chose lightweights (since they are the once that can use it), I just prefer these two, they're obviously the most awesome ones (imo at least). 31 out of 32 WRs in the time trials use the barrel train (Baby Park flap/fast lap use the bullet blaster) and the cups use the barrel train.
Outside of time trial the characters actually matters more since they have special items in the game. Lightweights are still the way to go with the barrel train, but some characters might have item combos you might want.
