    Woot woot! I just took my first CLEP, today. I passed. Whoever writes the questions- grammar is not their strong suit. It causes confusion about what the question is asking. But I passed is what is important. Gonna try to squeeze about 2 or 3 more CLEP before the year is out.

Will watching all the videos that you posted help or what do you recommend. * (2.) College Algebra: I thought I loved math until I had to take it as a pre-req for the masters program. I can't even get through the 1st pages. What do you recommend. I think I'm sabotaging myself. * (3.) Straighterline vs CLEP: What is the difference? I thought Straighterline would be more helpful because they supplied the full text but. * Thank you!

    Have you looked at Modernstates.org ? It's a free website for Clep prep and they have a reimbursement program to pay you back the cost of your exam after you pass a test. I'm not 100% sure how they get the funding but it sounds great.
    I'm thinking about studying for wgu and I want to clep all of my generals. I graduated high school in 2005, so I may be very rusty on all topics. I'm working on calculus right now. It's the hardest of the courses I want to pass so I'm aiming for it first.
    Also Saylor.org can give you free credits with it's proctored $25 exam, but you would want to look and see what your school of choice might accept from them.

      linda rivera thank you very much!:) I know it’s really rough at the moment with tuition being as overpriced as it is! 😬 anyway no I didn’t have any credits before I started cleping and yes it is possible to do so in a year (1 year 5 months, for me) I would even say that with better planning you could actually test out of college while you’re in high school, graduate high school and send all of your CLEPs to the best college; and graduate within a couple weeks of graduating high school. But in your position absolutely a year is completely possible to do!:)

      Last May, I got my son started doing CLEPs. He uses his one hour study hall and other free time at school to work on the plan I laid out for him. He's passed 14 CLEPs so far for 48 credit hours. He'll probably take two more CLEPs next weekend. Combined with an AP test in May and hopefully one more CLEP by the end of the school year and he'll basically be a junior in college sitting with 60 credit hours. He's done all of this in less than one year. He'd probably tell you that he didn't work as fast as he possibly could although he has taken two CLEPs in a day before. We are almost done with the CLEPs and about to move on to the DSSTs portion of the plan. I also still need to iron out some of the upper level part and then hope the degree map I made agrees with what the school requires when we work with them. The grand plan is to graduate from high school and then a month or so later go through commencement ceremonies in college. Right now my son is a only a sophomore in high school so we are on schedule right now. Keep up the good work here! Love seeing it.

    So I am taking the Spanish 1 & 2 clep exam in 4-5 days and I just want to know if you have any tips for me as I can speak and listen really well as I am a native speaker but have problems with reading and grammar and I heard you have only 12 seconds to answer a question. Any tips?

    • @Mason-Aksamit
      @Mason-Aksamit  Před 6 lety

      12 seconds to answer a question? I believe that is only for the first listening portion of the test, that you have that. When I took the German test the grammar portion, has basically really difficult reading passages, but all of the complicated parts you can get from context. My biggest tip, is just don't stress; go in confident that you'll pass. and then pass.

    I completed the Sociology CLEP course on Study.com. I then took the practice test in the Official CLEP Study Guide and I got 70% correct. I know that's a good score and I should be ready enough to take the exam, but I want to score a bit higher. I *really* don't want to take this course again in college.
    So, do you know of any ways that I can get my score up? I completed all of the quizzes on Study.com. Is there anything else I should do to boost my score?

    • @Mason-Aksamit
      @Mason-Aksamit  Před 6 lety +4

      I think the biggest key to any of it is to relax, and try to enjoy the process more if you can. Typically the issue I see a lot of people have is that they have the mindset that the test (or anything) is extremely difficult and therefore when they study it it'll become more difficult. Because your mind typically creates the challenge more so than the test actually does.
      Especially if you have a few months I would recommend trying to make smaller goals for yourself within the study process. So, for example, if you are struggling with certain types of math problems like quadratic equations and graphing inequalities. Focus on one at a time, instead of both, really concentrate on quadratic equations first, and do so many problems that you feel like it won't be difficult any more. Than move onto the next one.
      It works for two different reasons, #1: despite what people say it as actually scientifically impossible to multitask fully because your brain has to change focus in between tasks. So when you focus on one at a time, it becomes a lot more sensical, and you learn it quicker. #2: It gives you a small sense of pride when you accomplish things (no matter what it is) so if you work at the smaller senses of pride, i.e. I can do this type of problem now. You'll have a much stronger motivation to continue on.
      Sorry for the really long answer, But I'd love to help in anyway... feel free to email me (attached to the home page of my channel), and we can set up a tutoring session if you are feeling nervous at all! :) Otherwise I hoped I answered your question well! :)
