These reasons are secondary. The primary reason why India didn't create mobile phones is it requires time and huge investment. And India don't steal technology, IP from other players.
Micromax was just pasting their logo on Chinese smartphones, nothing else. Now, they’re doing the same in electric bikes. They’re bound to fail.
There are some other reasons too why Indian brands aren't able to cope up with the needs of the market. Today, most people are attracted because of UI experience in a smartphone. A decent processor can also be made to work really good if it has good UI support and time to time updates. When all other companies are using their customised skins of Android OS, the Indian brands are still using stock android. They could have spent decent on hardware R&D and should have mainly focused on making better UI. There are some other factors too for their failure.
I think indian company should launch two type of phone..one cost cheap ..others cost high ,so that people can't nacklet
Customers care service of indian brand was very poor ...is also the biggest downfall of indian brand smartphone industry
Innovation and features are the key points to attract consumers. Indian companies should have a common R&D (software & Hardware) department. So that, all Indian smartphone companies can benefit from the Combined R&D resources. Even Chinese companies are known for resource pooling.
Me Lava ka phone lene ke liye gya toh out of stock fir mene customer reviews check kiye toh customers ko order krne pr 15 din baad milta hai woh mobile. So bad experience. Mircomax ko dusri baar bhi mauka diya lekin waha par bhi woh log fail kr gye. Mene woh IN note 1 purchase kiya tha after 1.5 years pehla security update aya. So they are bad at delivering. Mera pehla smartphone XOLO by lava ka tha. Usme bhi same problem. So I don't trust on this brands and now not giving any chances to them. Because they don't deserve any chance. We have to remember this because of Jio and Xiaomi we get consumer centric products.

Simple cause our brands don’t provide good quality products and our brightest minds work for reputed brands abroad .
as an indian whenever somebody in my family buys a new SmartPhone tou meri personal choice hoti ha ki me koi indian brand suggest karu but search karne ke baad bi ek single indian smartphone brand nhi milti isme indian People ki koi bi galti nhi ha because everybody wants to buy desi product but if hume same price me more features walle phones chineese companies deti ha tou hum kya kare dimaag se soch kar chineese phones ki taraf move hona hi padta ha .
Micromax was a good 3g brand. Top selling brand in 2012

oil for so called countries
India has plenty of opportunities and stability but we dont capitalise it
like we have ayurveda, yoga. we have our designer dresses make something that becomes the face of India... now we have UPI do something that usa market has been doing for ages... create a capitalism environment...

Indian finance must invest more for this support and ease for research and development
