Gujrat, Bengaluru these type of locations should not be made capitals because during war time, it would become liabilities for armoud forces to protect industrial or space program assets instead of protecting their own defensive assets.

No old city should be new capital , India should make new Greenfield city as new capital and most developed city as well.

This will not be feasible as the capital required will be huge and we also have partially failed to create a new capital city of Amaravati for Telangana. So it is better to develop tier - 3 or tier - 2 cities like Nagpur for the future capital.

If you wanna alternative of a capital city then the Hingna-Butibori developing agro-industrial area of Nagpur fulfills the criteria. Hyderabad and Bangalore are no longer a small meteropolis infact they have become a large megapolis. So turning them into a capital may make them like another Delhi. New capital must need a relatively less settled area like Nagpur, Raipur, Bhopal.

If India shifts its capital from New Delhi to another city, then it is better for country. Because, already you know that New Delhi is very over crowded so if India shifts its capital then it could be either Kanpur or Jabalpur, so that it would be very easy for our government to administer the whole country, because of its central geography.
As an urban Planner, my suggestion is to decentralize various activities & offices in NCR + check on unauthorised colonies on the periphery of Delhi is one solution!
Nagpur is the best bet. Else some small city in that range, Viz., Ballarshah, Adilabad, Nanded or Bidar can be developed. But once we decided upon that, The Govt. should ensure that the Capital should remain mainly an Administrative & Legislative Capital, Consists mostly of Govt. Officials. I would recommend the Supreme Court should be located away from the Capital. Administrative & Legislative Capital in Nagpur and the Supreme Court in Delhi with Benches in Kolkatta, Nagpur/Mumbai and Chennai/Bangalore. In the Capital City, we Should limit Business or Commercial investments.

These are power sectors of any country as they help in generation of long term revenue on regular basisi. These sectors can be comfortably developed in Nagpur.

Shifting the capital is not a pragmatic solution in current scenario. Having more than one capital is more practical like South Africa.
Thats right brother... to increase importance of Delhi, GoI established all kind of economic activities as well as facilities there. People from nearby state started migrating there from 60's. If they had implemented uniform diffusion of development and facilities across the north India region and restricted over-settlement of new population around Delhi by proper town planning, the Delhi must have been much better today.

What's happening in Delhi is quite inevitable. See it's like when there is a capital people migrate to that capital to get better opportunities in life as a result population increases, after that people settle and they buy vehicles for themselves as a result pollution and traffic increases
And when there is a lot of crowd there is unemployment also so crime increases. No matter wherever in this world you make capital this is goona happen. What we have to do it is to control it and have some proper mechanism to tackle it rather than running away from it.

Indian government had chance to move capital to somewhere in centre of India when they plan to renovate parliament buildings. Location like boarder area of MP/MH, nearer to Nagpur District would have been perfect location.
I think having this discussion is a stupid idea for now as the new parliament and new administrative blocks have been built or in the process of being built but however if there are plans of having a second capital in the future then it should be in the south and not any of the three main southern cities but a place like nagpur would be ideal looking at it's geographical location

After watching the complete video, inspite of shifting our capital we need to improve and make some strong plans to lessen the overall burden of "New Delhi". If we relocate our capital then definitely it is gonna cost so much and time consumption for developing a new capital city is not so easy. So we should utilise that money and time to make our infrastructure, transportation, living standards, law and order, environment, health and education better.

Pune is a Good Agro-service HUB!
Chennai is a super good Exporter HUB of India!
New Delhi is in North India and not in Central India. Mumbai is called Financial capital for namesake only. It belongs to Maharashtra Government and all the revenue generated from it goes to Maharashtra first.

Is there any necessity to change capital to a large city. I think capital should be only for legislative or judicial usage. Like Washington DC, ita not a big city.

Hyderabad is not land locked city, it can grow in all 4 directions. And as per Dr.Ambedkar recommendation Hyd is most suitable for 2nd capital of India. No need to shift Delhi capital, just develop 2nd capital is enough.

When central vista project was under consideration, that time I wrote PM for wondering Nagpur as it is in center of India. But, no attention was given to my suggestion.

Changing capital from New Delhi to other city or region is not acceptable. As because of it's history, infrastructure, popularity etc. We can overcome, resolve all problems through Mordern and scientific methods. Recently newly built Parliament Bhawan, indicates that government had well research decision. So, not in this century at least. It's not to do brain storming now.

Judicial Capital should be in eastern India (kolkata/Bhubaneswar/Guwahati/ Patna) so that there can be better access to east asian countries which are very developed. And integration of northeast into India is indeed a very big challenge since independence
I termed judicial capital as financially western India is much more well off than eastern India ,so changing that will be extremely tiresome .

If India need a new capital, first we need one standard party to form government for a tenure under which capital construction can be done with keeping atleast 100 years future in mind, if new party comes into power there will a lot of changes in city planning, second a new place need in such a way where everything can be done from scratch, and precent existing City planning need to be changed with present time situation but many concerns both regional emotion and legal and other constrains are there which never allow to welcome changes to provide healthy and advaced city structure for all finacial households
I fully agree with this topic and most pheseable solution is of 2 capitals, with Delhi, Kolkata should be the 2nd capital , which was once the single capital and problems referred about Kolkata in this video are such that can be corrected by the efforts of all, problems are temporary and can easily be solved, with the efforts and will power of all.
Making kolkata the second capital of india will help better integration of northeast to the rest of india

2) There will be no problem of overpopulation because it is surrounded by two big cites Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar
