- Let's show you how to reinstall Windows 10 without losing your apps, data, or files.
In this video, I walk you through the steps to reinstall Windows 10 on your laptop or desktop without losing any of your apps, data, or files. Open a browser and enter "Windows media creation tool" and click on the Windows link. Under "Create Windows 10 Installation Media" click on Download and then open the file when it has finished downloading and then run it. Click on Change What To Keep and ensure that "Keep personal files and apps" is selected. Then click on install.

for anyone wondering if this still works by this day, it does I did it 5 mins ago, I kept all my games and apps and settings and e mails everything is here, only the windows is reinstalled. Btw very much thanks to this channel for this. :)

12/29/23 worked for me. Pc was freezing up constantly and was slow as hell, once it finished deleted history, cookies and cache,. Pc is like runs like new. Nothing was lost or changed after installation, couldn't be happier. Thx Trevor.
Did it require the key after reinstalling?
@@redcoockie01 Usually they don't because you installed it from an already ready copy of Windows, most people attach their key to their account they login with automatically and Windows recognizes that

@@danielmorgado1613 It's been a while since I did it, but from what I recall, the user name and password remain intact. I don't remember having to do anything in regards to that. However, be aware that ultimately, this did not fix my problem as I originally thought when I made my comment. In the end, I had to make a complete list of all my software and all the logins/passwords for those that had one, made sure I had a way to reinstall everything, and then I had to do the reinstall of Windows where it wipes out the programs/apps. Then I had to reinstall everything. Doing that was the only fix for the problem I had. It was a hassle but it was worth it in the end.

Thanks. Might do this one day cus my PC has been running i wouldnt say slow but it has been through some issues where it doesnt feel as fast anymore as it was before in time and i really wanted to fresh install Windows 10. I just didnt want to lose files and applications.

I was going to go about it with this method, but I still panicked worried it wouldn't retain anything other than the basics (I did the other recovery method before believing it might). So I'm trying to do what is in this vid but reinstall windows 10 in UEFI for resizable bar and 4g encoding. can i still keep all apps and files whilst changing the install option from CSM to UEFI this way? the rest of my system is compatible for SAM but my windows install type. Plz help
Will it delete the old software if it was corrupted? Will it also delete software duplicates if any? Lastly what if you never had an activation key and still have the activate windows water mark/ where do you get a legit key?

for me the other option with keeping your apps and files, I couldn't click on activate that and it was already on nothing. I had to refuse the whole thing so to try again.
Everything was going will but when reinstalling process reached 100%, said failed to install/upgrade windows?
After choosing upgrade options it gets stuck to 0% progress and it doesnt go up .. i canceled it and did it again but nothing changed. Any solutions ?

what if I don't know if I want to keep everything? Like I'm not sure if some things I've deleted or downloaded to try and help my bsod issues I've been having are now making things worse. So I only want to keep specific things. I don't want to keep EVERYTHING.

Hi man ...I have a dual boot system with win 7 and win 10 each OS is on different drives windows 10 and 7 are mentioned on the boot screen and did work ...untill the latest windows 10 update ... Yes I'm blaming the update as it was working perfectly before anyway.... When clicking on win 10 it seems to work with the dots going round in a circle then ..I get a blank screen ...all seems ok with the pc as all fans lights and blinking hd lights are going but ..just a black screen ...I've left this for around 2hrs in the hope that something happens but no nothing did ....... So I tried all the usaul safe mode stuff and still nothing ...I've heard of a way using the windows creation tool to fix an already installed win 10 without losing all my programs and files ..but I'm not a tech savvy person ..any hint on this issue would be extremely appreciated...thank you

Can i do this from safe mode? I can t start Windows normaly because of an Issue from system32/startrial or something like that. opted to cleanup 10 with system file checker will try later on cloned disk, then onto windows 11 on cloned at a later date....

Great video sir, may you Kindly assist, I have a pc with win 10 on it but doesnt boot anymore so cannot go into windows and when i slave the drive everything is still intact and i can still see all the files in it but connecting it as a master it doesnt boot like i said.i have tried everything to make it boot again but nothing. I also tried booting it from a windows 10 installation disk but doesnt give me an option to keep everything, i even tried to boot it from a windows 11 installation disk to upgrade it as long as it can keep the files but still doesnt give me the option to keep all. Within this tutorial, I have one thing to ask. Can we reinstall windows 10 with different ISO file without remove any installed apps and data?? I don't have any problem with my current windows 10, but I just wanna try lite version of windows 10 like Ghost Spectre Windows 10.
The only way I am personally aware to do this is to activate a "further" version of windows key. Update, then doing this process would be a little redundant but I guess if the update after registering a key above your windows version (ie: home -> pro). If that didn't solve the problem you have going this route isn't a bad thing.
