Most interesting, well done. Concerning the Blatadon Monastry, as you have said, it stands on the sacred land of an ancient Greek temple. More specifically, before the monastery was build, there should have been the Temple of Pythian Apollo. Moreover, it is speculated that the Rotoda would have been during the Roman times a Pantheon or a Temple of the Cabeirs, the protector deities of Thessalonica.

Fascinating and very well presented! I have visited all of these locations and will do so again with greater knowledge. I was unaware of Paul’s journey to Thessaloniki and it is obvious in hindsight given his letters to the Thessalonians.

Hey Mark! Great video. As an American Muslim I am fascinated by the religious history of Europe and how it transformed over the years. It amazes me how one building can represent so many religions or civilizations although I hope in the future instead of using resources for our own selves we preserve them as they are to honor and remember people. Just to let you know, Muslim invaders would erase eyes or faces not because of malice or superstition but because they believe it is not allowed to draw images of people especially of religious figures (out of respect) - they did this despite clear Islamic examples where Churches or Monasteries were preserved for the worshippers. I am traveling to Greece and most of western Europe from Pakistan in this December. I will definitely be visiting Thessaloniki. Thanks

Paul must have shared isaiah 53, ps22 with the jews in thesalonica to prove the messiah was to suffer and entee his glory.
However, caiaphas was having none of thse. The sanhedrin council must have warned that any synagogues that acceot christ will be bar from temple worship
Thank you for the comment, Petros. Perhaps you are correct about the Scripture Paul shared. As to a message from the Sanhedrin council, we can only speculate, but Caiaphas stopped being High Priest in 36 a.d., some twenty years prior to Paul's arrival. It is probably more likely that the leaders of the Thessalonica synagogue rejected Paul's message entirely by their own choice. Remember that he was allowed to speak in the Sabbath service.
