dropping bombs at supersonic speed IRL can be dangerous, and it would certainly have a negative effect on accuracy, but I'm pretty sure that there is nothing actually stopping you from doing it on f-15 and f-16.
Most bombs in the game have a 1.0 Mach limit, if you're going above Mach the game simply won't let you drop them.

i think only super sonic bombers like f111/su24/f105 and a few others can drop bombs above mach 1 irl.

I want one of the late 80s/early 90s F-4Es in game so bad. The kind with AIM-9Ms and AIM-7Ms, the later variant of the radar that had slight MTI and a real targeting pod with laser guided bombs. It'd suck ass in air RB against MiG-29s and F-15s but it'd be so good in ground RB
They even had tgps in vietnam, too! At least 2 kinds, but they should totally break the F4s into different jets for variety and br filling within drop-downs. . .

This change was the reason i started to carry RB 75(AGM-65B) instead of GBU-24/16 on JAS39A Gripen even tho Their performance is much worse but you can toss them at supersonic speed... BTW Nice vid 👍

Point means lock ground, track means lock vehicle.

Nice one Hunter, I am currently struggling to let the walleye lock on the moving target and tracking it. It does lock on a target but only if it is standing still. I have the A4 Ayit at the moment. Is there something on my key binds that I have wrong?
It is all about range, 3km track lock means vehicle is locked, point lock means ground is locked, talked a little about this concept in "Do Not Underestimate The Frog" video, it applies on all TV weapons. Thanks 🙂
I think the reason you arent able to drop them is because track and lock(ground) are on the same key. its possible for me to go click on search, and after 5 seconds if i click the same button again without it picking up a target it will lock on the ground. IMO this new tv camera is better in everyway thanks to it being able to do everything the previous one could and that it is able to chain launches in the same TV view, i have had a lot of fun with the A10 for this reason and i actually prefer it over the SU 25 to dogfight and do cas with just because of easy it is to counter SPAA with mavericks and the crazy 5X multi kills you get sometimes that fill the whole killfeed with just your name
Mate all TV bombs and rocket NATO in WarThunder have tracking only when you aim at targets less than 6km... above that you just lock the ground.
@@prorok2505 depends on what type of AGM you use, AGM65B has roughly 6 km lock, while the A variant only has around 2 km lock range
How getting point lock in 5 seconds is better than getting point lock in one second "previously"?

I feel same about new tv screens. Old one was better to get the point lock to fire kh29td's and Kab500's at safe-ish range on the su25bm. New one doesnt lock untill 5km. And on a subsonic non afterburning su25 its a death sentance.

I am pretty new to top tier, and idk if this is normal but when I queue up with a 12.7 jet in my lineup matchmaking takes forever. Maybe I need to enable both US and EU servers.
Also try changing nation, some nations are faster than others in finding a game, depends on the major update type of content and which army people are spamming.

At least for the A7E you have no after burner so you want to going supersonic often anyway and can still sling walleyes with the targeting pod

With the new screen, after gaining a lock, what is the point of the little cross you can move around, is it to adjust your lock, or whats its purpose?
To cancel the lock if you get it out of the box.

So the sucsonic skyhawk and A-7 cant drop at Mach 1 but the supersonic phantom can?
and is that difference between GBU-16/24 and GBU Mk.13 random because Gaijin forgot?
Gaijin went on a rage nerf for bomb release speeds, you cant drop anything over mach 1.1 now.
Skyhawck can't reach Mach 1 to begin with
I cannot "point lock" anymore even when using targeting pod. The tv guided weapons are hard to use.

I've explained this in Hunter's discord but basically use your "lock guided bombs" button once, and right after it goes into "searching" mode use the same button again and it instantly goes "point lock". Don't do it before it goes into "searching" tho

What about mirages? I know with the f1c200 and 2000c4 you can drop the dumb bombs at supersonic speeds

You dont have to unlock when your radar is chaffed after firing a sparrow, it keeps tracking
It will keep tracking to the new locked target which is the chaff I think.
@@Hunter_i86 if you're lucky the Sparrow will just seek out the plane anyways due to it being a bigger target or some other technical thing like that
@@Hunter_i86It’s usually best to keep the radar locked on the chaff. As long as you fired the missile before locking on chaff it will still track. Even though the radar may be confused by the chaff, the Sparrow isn’t because of how CW missiles work. Unless the enemy is notching and chaffing simultaneously, it will still track.
@@Boris_The_TurtleIn my experience, the missiles will sometimes ignore the chaff but then transition to it after consistently tracking the plane after it was popped. . . Maybe like 3-5 secs after 😅

Why you always use two Aim 7 on one target ?
I do the same because if the 1st one somehow misses the 2nd AIM7 will have higher chance to hit a target that went to perform a manoeuvre to evade 1st AIM7

Russian bias is just a joke and funny exaggeration created by the community for the laughs, it evolved though, and some people started to believe it seriously and on a very wide scale in the USSR tree.
I personally thought Vikhr in its first implementation was overpowered against supersonic jets turning and maneuvering and yet still getting shot down by Vikhr missile, that overpowering significantly reduced when missile dynamics realistically changed a while ago.
Pantair S1 when it came out was unfair as well, it is still deadly and powerful and can easily deny all your guided strikes to this very day but atleast pilots received degital RWRs with even IFF in RB which heavily helped them to stay alive and survive.
Kh-38ML is a good excuse to give NATO a better air defense system with longer range than 12km.
Everything else in USSR tree is normal in my opinion.

and mostly the last blackhawk addition: AH-60
i once spawned in a pantsir only to get spammed with 4 Spikes
and since those missiles are small, you can't get a good lock on them
and if you do get a lock, the pantsir's radar with its love to switch lock to another target is likely to happen
and by the time you get a solid lock, the missile is already in min range for missiles
and your guns can't really target them either
and tbf, i would always compare Kh-38MT to AGM-65G, grippen can drop them supersonic and has 4 of them while Su-25sm3 can carry 4 of them
as for Kh-38ML, well, flying in a straight line is its own disadvantage against any sort of SPAA

F4E is just the best because Gaijin do a bullshit or forget something, i don't know what, because he is the only plane without TGP who can see and target clearly and lock something above 5/6 km like he did at 18/20 approximatively. Try in A10 its so crap, impossible to play in Sim at longer range than 5km, same for Maverick. I notice this the first day of patch in test mod and alert my squad mates. Thx show this to people Hunter.
Kinda funny how the A10A early and late should be able to use the earlier and higher zoom mavericks, but yet, only the *premium* one does, ya know? 😂

the change to US guided bombs is what officially killed my interest in war thunder. i still played after pantsir update and i still played after they added spall liners to every other nation. now i dont see any reason to play wt anymore since US CAS is fubar

Walleyes are great, i use it at top tier for a while now. Even discussed it in the discord. The very same people that cry about CAS are the same people who can't even use Pantsir properly, or don't move at all after they spawn. Walleye can be point-dropped from really far distances to eliminate such players. F4E is just great. On top of walleyes it takes Zunis and AGMs too.
