  • This is the latest and last version of dewalts corded brush motor small angle grinder this is the 11-Amp unit, the models after this are brushless. this was a complete redesign from the previous D28402 grinder mainly they addressed airflow issues and improved the motor to 11 amps and it is stout for a little grinder but heavy and a bit large. the easy adjust guard is an issue because it is too easy to accidently move around and will become a frustration.

    Nice video. I first bought this Model DeWalt in late 2015 and have done a lot of fabrication work with it. It's never been serviced and has never failed. It still use it regularly. I just a few days ago bought a brand new 2023 model. They have not changed at all in 8 years. Extremely good grinders for $100.00. Compact , powerful and reliable and both of them were made in China.

    That’s such a good grinder. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another if it burned up.

    Craftsman and DeWalt are clones by now, both of them are great honestly but I noticed the newest Craftsman grinder has a higher RPM rating than most DeWalt grinders.

    in usa, home depot, walmart, etc have tons on clearance at rock bottom prices. here in canada, you get 10-20% off and people compete for that and resell on Facebook marketplace for double price and it sells.

    so the funky "slip riing snap" broke or was creeping on my tool, i pulled it out and placed an oring
    and some silicone grease in there, now you can easily remove and rotate the guard much better.

    Great video. But for some reason there was a commercial every 2 min that made me not finish the video.

    Does the grinder grease ever need to be changed?

    For safety and warranty, what combination of (bottom spacer or locking nut) is used when putting on a "Double Row Diamond Cut Wheel"(DW4774) on a DWE402? Is locking nut required since wheel screws on already?

    • @CatusMaximus
      @CatusMaximus  Před 3 lety

      threaded wheels do not use the lock nuts, normally you just keep the lower support washer on all the time.

      @@CatusMaximus thx. for responding. I have been on the phone/emails with 3 different Dewalt reps and got 3 different answers,lol. If ai take off bottom spacer I no longer have any meat of the blade to touch the concrete(blade guard is only a 32nd above the blade). Even with spacer it doesn't seem like I will get the full wear of the blade before I hit the guard on concrete. This is getting frustrating before I even start,grrr.

    This is how a plastic box should be, when they case it fitted to the tool too much with a special place for the cord they're annoying as hell to put back into the case.

      yeah i find blow molded Cases that close tight with strong latches but it loose enough with liberal cord area. and some extra space for accessories helps as well.
