Why do these women stay with these controlling men and allow them to abuse them. There is plenty of help available knocking herself out to please this psycho who's personality she could never change. It doesn't start on a first or second date. Probably not even a year into the marriage. My ex put his hands on me for the first time after 4 kids, moving me away from family, financially dependent, and 9 years into the marriage. Was he kinda mean in the beginning, sure everyone has on off day. Did I ever realize he was breaking me down, never. If red flags flew right away, nobody would be abused.

What about the men who have suffered abuse from their vicious, egotistical, and vile female partners? Did you know abusive women actively seek out veterans with ptsd? In fact the numbers are so alarming that they teach veterans a class on how to avoid women like that, and keep safe mentally, as well as physically. Safe houses, are set up to look like flop houses to keep these men safe from their partners. It's not just women being abused, they are abusers too.
Males kill the women. Don't sugarcoat it just saying partner. But she knew what he was and kept it going. Women must learn to live without males, because there simply aren't enough good ones out there.

Everyones different. I was ok after 2 or 3 days on all 3 of my kids despite a few stitches. Did wait 6 weeks of course before resuming intercourse but could easily have conceived again if no precautions were taken as my period returned less than 2 months after the birth too (no breastfeeding).

They also consistently seek partners with high score of empathy and openness, who are left completely confused and vulnerable once they start showing their true nature. So, no, it's not that women want evil partners, but they fall for a seemingly nice and loving man whose brainwashing and hurt and rescue cycle make it very difficult to leave for the partner. But, sure, keep looking down on the victims of these heinous abuse and murder stories rather than being disgusted at the acts committed against them.

I commend the neighbor for quickly calling the police. I lived with an abuser, for 5 years. Luckily we never had kids! We always lived in apartments, and only once did someone call the cops. Even if you’re not sure of what is going on, please call police, especially if you know children are involved. The police don’t care if it’s a false alarm, but it is critical if it’s not.

I do agree, in so many cases the abused partners are well balanced, happy & wonderful people; most with supportive families, then get attached to absolute train wrecks of partners who are literally waving red flags from the outset (after the lovebombing phase). I watch too much true crime to ever believe it'd be a genuine attachment, there's usually a motive especially with partners who take advantage of the relationship to benefit themselves in some way early on.

We just saw a 'father figure' murder the mother and grandmother. You overestimate the need for men in the household when science says majority of the housework and child rearing is on the mother. And this video showed that.

Before I started watching this episode, I wanted to recommend the case of Azra Gülendam Haytaoğlu for coverage. It happened in Turkey as well. I believe she went in for an interview advertised by a guy online when she went missing. Her dismembered body was eventually found 5 days later.

Every single decision these women made went against the very basic principles of self-preservation. It's literally like running through traffic and being dismayed when a car hits you. How many warning signs did they ignore?

I was with my ex husband for years until we started having these fights that would end with him having a gun pointed to my head or him taking a pillow and trying to smoother me with it. As time went on it would happen more and more, I got to the point I'd have 911 dialed on my phone getting ready to push send. It's hard to explain why any person would put up with it. I truly believed that are relationship was going to end with him killing me and the him killing himself. Even though I thought that I still stayed in the relationships. It's hard to explain but I felt ashamed for anyone to know what was going on. Alot of times these scary situations would happened randomly and rarely happened. So you justify to yourself why you stay. It's very hard to explain why someone would stay in abusive relationships.
It's tragic that Michala wanted to save a toxic relationship, & had a chance to be free of the abusive man she feared, but begged him not to board the plane.
What is it with these woman they go on these holidays and meet these same old type of blokes, he was never even interested in her, sad and desperate and hurts innocent children.

This case is so frustrating. I understand being in an abusive relationship is so difficult to get free from, but there was literally countries in between her and abuser and she kept on going back again and again. I understand somebody having emotional control over you, but in these cases the abuser has usually isolated their victim from their support network so there is nobody there to turn to. In this case she was surrounded by family and friends telling her to get away and giving her every opportunity to do so. She seemed to be obsessed with this man, despite having others in her life who could give her the same attention; her obsession with him specifically reminds me very much of Jodi Arias's obsession with Travis Alexander. He made it clear he didn't want a serious relationship with Arias but always rewarded her stalker behaviour with sex and gratification and it cost him his life.
In this case, Ensar made it clear he wasn't that bothered about Michala and saw her as a means to get out of national service and ultimately his country, yet she continued to chase after him. What happened to her (and her mother) is nobody's fault but his, he made the decision to murder and that is on him alone, however I don't think this can be treated as a "normal" case of of DV/IPV because she actively chose (despite having distance and a support network to advise her) to continue pushing for a relationship with a man who had proven himself time and again to be violent, selfish, and uncaring.
Sounds exactly like ppl that are addicted to meth, heroine, crack, etc. It is so plain to see that their very lives are being sucked out of them--all of us are telling them--the mirror is cracking from the ugliness, they will do all sorts of unspeakable things to get the next hit....you can change all the outward circumstances but the heart has a lie in it. Only knowing the truth shall break that bondage and free them.

I've attempted to explain in my reply to this video, as it is not a conscious decision people make. It's rather long, but I'd urge you to read it, in an effort to try to make sense of why.
I'm only at 3:00, and I'm already concerned about this man. Ladies, if you ever find yourself in a relationship which sees you doing all the work (in this case, traveling to Turkey), get out! It's already unhealthy before it ever really starts. RUN! While it may sound on the surface that I'm victim blaming, that is not my intent; rather, this case serves as a reminder to be ever vigilant. Be actively looking for red flags. Ask your friends, especially your male friends, if they see any red flags as your relationship progresses. Listen to them!
I'm 6 minutes in and I can't believe Michala kept returning to Turkey to be with this poor excuse of a partner/father...mothers, put yourself and your kids first always.

We need to study people IN abusive relationships. So we understand the best most effective ability to reach the person, so they leave quicker being abused and how to make sure they NEVER return to the abuser again.
well, we tell our stories all the time but few people are interested. I would be happy to be part of such a study! Although we know so much already, coercive control, financial emotional sexual an physical abuse. The most important point to know is the control is insidious, you have no idea you are being broken down.
@@Dee-JayW I know, and I think that’s why people get frustrated(having not been through it), because facts aren’t listening to, and reasoning doesn’t seem to work. So if we could study what reaches people easier, how to talk around people’s emotions and help them leave sooner, might save lives. And an entire system set up to help victims live safely away from abusers since that’s the most dangerous time, when they are leaving. For me(again never been in an abusive relationship so huge grain of salt please) abusive victims need to be seen as participants WHEN children are involved. At 18, there isn’t much it seems others can do if someone wants to stay with an abuser BUTTT if you allow a child to be abused/see abuse and they didn’t get them out, nah, you can do risky things but don’t bring children into it. That’s cruel.
They do study, you haven't heard it takes on average 14 times to leave, or how therapist have to come up with escape plans with their clients? What we need is awareness; open hearts and ears, and the victim blaming to stop.

There has to be better ways to to help people before it's too late. I feel for victims but my patience start to go when CHILDREN witness or become victims too. That is when some actual victims should lose their status. There must be better ways to get these people out. I just think we need more understanding on how the abused mind is functioning and how to quicker and permanently get them to see reason. But women(mostly) barely get any attention in the medical field. So it isn't surprising that we don't have answers or better tools to help something that affects mostly women.
@@dietdrpepper15what they need to do is take the kids off the victim for failing to keep them safe. Then they have a choice. Kids or him. Quickest way to get a victim to respond. Worked for years with domestic violence and its the same old story but I love him. It's not love it's manipulation and the cycle. They did a massive study in nz and the top answer from woman was that they can handle the pain of the broken bones and bruises. They can't handle their hearts breaking. They only way to stop the abuse is to take the kids away. The courts also need to take domestic violence more serious and give longer sentences so the women are protected and given supportive time to heal. It should also be mandatory to go to a domestic violence course for women so they learn what they think is love is not and that their children are being destroyed.
I think there should be extra time added for people who behave so disrespectfully to the deceaseds family in court.

Mehmet should've also told Julie and Michala what the POS said to him when he was drunk. It could've saved their lives and his VISA could've been revoked for uttering death threats. I place a large part of the blame on him because of that simple fact, holding back important information that was imperative to the well being of Michala, her mom and those poor little kids who now have to grow up without their mother and grandmother. And the poor, daughter witnessing them both being murdered by her father, which will no doubt be terribly traumatic for the rest of her life! Something as horrendous as this would be remembered even by 2 yr old. Their closest bonds were severed in an evil and tragic manner.

Imagine fighting so hard for your abuser and eventual killer to come live with you when there was so much distance which kept you safe. And ignoring your mother's advice and friends' advice. I'm finding it hard to feel sorry for someone like this. I feel sorry for her mother who lost her life due to her daughter's poor decisions and also feel sorry for her children who are now orphans. The only thing is they won't have to put up with a violent father and hopefully were placed with a family that is much more peaceful.

Ladies/guys: I know it's hard to turn your back on someone being this way to you. You want to be fair, some of it may be you hard to get along with, you desperately want to give them another chance & leaving can be a painful path & you just aren't that strong: you will suffer more, your children will learn to live like this and even tho it means letting go of that 1 person that you say loves you, take that chance, give yourself time to heal and to really see if this is how a real relationship goes. True, the mindset is strong that holds one in this bond & many can't/won't shake it; but there are too many victors standing on the other side of that line in the sand, that are calling out & reaching out to others who are still in it. They made it, they've "come back from the dead" & they are the living proof that it can be a reality for someone else. And how did they come about that choice? They heard someone, somewhere-whether in person or on the radio or in a video or read something that gave them the tiniest spark of hope. Those ones don't necessarily understand it all; with time & counseling & support, they will learn the how's & whys. And in my own belief, a relationship with God is crucial for this freedom. Not a god who is condemning & blasting them but the one who refused to condemn the women who was in adultery; the one who didn't condemn the woman being out in public with some kind of disease & could make everybody "unclean" but instead allowed his power to go out to her & told her to go in peace. These need to know what love is, how it behaves, why it is powerful because most don't know. And then they need to freely receive that love-from the Author-for themselves.

You don’t need hindsight for this one. He was abusive and controlling long before he got to the UK but she still wanted to keep the relationship going and married him. He was the same in the UK and she had the opportunity to be rid of him but she begged him to stay. I know she grew up in a single parent family and didn’t want that for her children but I simply cannot understand why she would fight so hard for such an awful relationship. I know she was a victim of abuse but she was actually in a unique position of being able to keep him in another country and away from her.

This is so tragic but was also avoidable. She was given ample opportunities to leave her abusive partner, which many women in abusive relationships don’t have. She had a support system pleading with her and he lived in a whole different country! She could’ve found a loving partner who cared for her and her children😢 To me, it is clear she had little-to-no respect for herself making her have this incessant need to be with him. If you have little value for yourself, then that is how you are going to be treated. This man knew that he could cheat on her and abuse her all he wanted and she wouldn’t leave. It’s a shame… Overall though the fault is in him and there was no excuse for his actions.

I feel like British women are even more willing to put up with domestic violence than American women. For some reason, I find that strange, like British women should be more advanced in their thinking than American women. British men should renamed Brutish men. An abuse victim suffers constant mental/emotional turmoil, hence they are not in their right minds and pretty much, as was proven here, cannot be considered smart enough to do what’s best for them. The abuser has so much control and it’s something you can’t understand unless you’ve personally seen it or endured it. It’s fine to say she wasn’t in her right mind and that contributed to her death, but it’s not okay to suggest that she wanted to be stabbed to death. Not saying you suggested that though.

He wanted to leave her on several occasions, wasn’t happy in the UK, had multiple affairs with other women, but she kept pleading with him to stay. If she so desperately wanted an out from the situation, why would she keep hanging onto him? He gave her plenty of opportunities if she had wanted to protect her kids and family, but she actively fought for him to stay with her, even knowing what a risk he was to her children’s and wider family members’ safety. And as I said, she had the support of all of her family and friends, she wasn’t cut off from them, and she was financially independent herself, she wasn’t reliant upon him for her and her kids’ money. She had options if she’d wanted to take them.
I can understand how people get trapped in an abusive relationship when they’re isolated from outside support from friends and family, and when they’re financially dependent upon their abuser. This definitely wasn’t one of those cases though.
It seems more that she was just determined not to have a failed relationship. She couldn’t accept that and didn’t want anyone else to have him, and she’d do whatever it took to hang onto him, including putting her kids at risk. They didn’t matter to her as much as hanging onto her man.
No matter how twisted her relationship was with him, you just don’t put your children’s lives in danger. That’s unforgivable. I thought there was supposed to be an overpowering protective instinct in mothers to keep their children safe. But their needs were secondary at best to her. She thought that it was acceptable to put them in danger, just so long as she could hang onto this she absolute catch of a POS man, despite him wanting to leave her.
And I emphatically did *NOT* say anything even alluding to her wanting to be stabbed to death. In one sentence you put words in my mouth and say that it’s not ok that I suggested "that she wanted to be stabbed to death", and then you admit that I didn’t in a kinda passive aggressive way. Why would you even make that untrue accusation in the first place? Please edit your comment to remove your lie.

It's funny how many women underestimate the difference in customs with men from other countries. No matter how open minded a person is we are highly influenced by the cultures in which we are raised. And those influences are deeply ingrained. Be very very careful when dating men from cultures that see women as completely subservient. To be fair it does run both ways. Women from foreign cultures can easily lose respect for men that don't match up with their cultures views of manly, but it is usually not physically dangerous like it can be for women.
