You know you have gold fever when you're out in the desert and use your drinking water for panning.
Best Gold Channel on the interwebs by far is " ASK JEFF WILLIAMS " No place gets me wetter than here as we get to see the Shiney every time !
Do you even know what you just said means? I don’t think you do or you wouldn’t have said it
Idaho panhandle no gold. Lots of white clay
Every video Jeff has new set gloves on!
Yeah you going to get WET!!!
@@JenMarco
I thought that was a pretty clever double entendre myself 😂
"AND YA, YOUR GONNA GET WET.". I say it every time I'm panning now. Lmao. Love the content and knowledge. Full of life type of character.
thanks
I love the way you describe exactly what to look for! Very educational whether you’re looking for gold or not.
“And no, it’s not a whistle!” Good one Jeff. 😂😂❤️
hahhahahhhaha I get that a lot
Too old to go looking for GOLD but, Enjoy watching your shows. Strike it big!
Old timers are the best gold prospectors, at least in the movies.
@@am4793 Thanks!
The gold master at it again. Thanks Jeff for sharing
you betcha
Yeehaw hello Jeff&Lila and Slim of course! Knowing where to look is as important as keeping at it. They haven't found all of it yet.
exactly....there is so much Gold out there still waiting to be found
@@Askjeffwilliams
You must have found your motherlode because of all the reruns LOL You're not to far from one of your claims on this video. Thanks Jeff for sharing your knowledge
Your genuine enthusiasm is infectious! Love your videos!
thanks
Jeff those Miner's had many stacks of rocks along that streambed 😮 must have been a hot spot for years!!!; )
BINGO
MRS WILLIAMS....thank you for sharing your husband and yourself with us. I appreciate the time and sacrifices you two make to share your fever!
Where I am is covered with vegetation. West Coast Can. Ya .Those old timers were tough. I sure do get excited too when you start running.
I love how Jeff explains the process, then I watch the old 1950's b&w 'Death Valley Days' TV show and understand it.
love those old films ...check out Slim Breyfogle
@Askjeffwilliams
I spent many camping trips in Eastern CA and NV visiting old mininging areas in the 80's - 90's with my Dad and his lifelong friend.
This is why i can give an educated guess where you are at.
The old men loved the old time radio shows. Mostly Jack Benny, Johnny Dollar, Drag Net, etc. Every once in a while they would pull out stuff that I have never heard before. Death Valley Days was on of the Radio shows the sometimes listen to.
Wikipedia - Death Valley Days was a long-running American radio and television anthology about true stories of the old American West, particularly the Death Valley area. It was created in 1930 by Ruth Woodman and ran on radio until 1945.
Were those Pine or Juniper trees in the background? I believe they both grow in the higher in elevations.
You don't see very many of either tree in the Mojave. If I had to wager a guess, you were not in the Mojave as the trees were rather thick.
I'm too old and lazy to be a gold miner. But I thoroughly enjoy your videos!
Jeff, I absolutely love your enthusiasm! Your videos have taught me a lot over the years and your positivity is really infectious!! Many a viewer has been bit by the gold bug after watching your videos! I wish you the best of luck in finding that motherlode!
thanks ...much appreciated
Jeff ,I can have the very worst day and I come home turn you or Wonder hussy on and your magical personalities brighten it up immediately. Thank you both❤
Rock on my brother ....happy yo hear that

Thanks for the upload cowboy. Enjoyed it. Those classifiers work pretty good when you Remember to bring them, nice job!
Hey Jeff, I know you're a gold/ore guy but have considered doing a video about pegamatites for us rockhounds? You seem to have a quite depth of geo knowledge and I would be interested to hear your take on miarolitic cavities, etc.
Love your energy. And geology lessons thank you. Blessings
Cool, can't wait for you to watch my applying physics in dowsing gold with the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod when attending one of your future outings. Actually, I show you how to dowse gold deposits from over 30 miles away while driving down highways and trails with pinpointing the highest concentrations of gold or any desired element that is to be precisely dowsed on foot. It's going to be fun with learning and sharing prospecting techniques from and with others.
Your Awesome Jeff! Enjoy everything you do. Teaching, and leading the way.
Keep up the energy and Antics!
thanks
Just became a patreon subscriber. After watching for about 4 or 5 years. So i know what your gonna say sonny jim, COME ON LETS GO!

Hand stacking. My grandfather told me a legend about George Hearst, William Randolph Hearst's father. He discovered gold in the coast range. He bought the large ranch on which the deposit was located. Every summer, he took the family there, and they camped out and worked the deposit. Eventually, they discovered the vein from which the placer gold was coming from. The legend says they built the Hearst Castle on top of the mine to hide it. That's why Hearst built his gigantic mansion out in the middle of nowhere. Some say that it's the old Lost Padre Mine. I was there as a kid and sneaked onto the grounds. In a wash near the base of the hill the castle's on, I found all kinds of those piles that you call hand stacking. All these years later I find out I accidentally stumbled onto George Hearst's secret placer mine.
that’s a great legend! now i’m scrutinizing google earth trying to locate quartz vein extrusions on the Hearst Castle hill in SLO! Haha! Oh, and Patty Hearst is still my favorite Marxist-Leninist Commie terrorist babe 😂❤
@JakeOfAllTrades11 Be careful if you go there. It's private property and the sheriff will arrest you if you get caught.
My grandfather had many cool stories like that he heard from his grandfather. My favorites were the stories of lost mines inside the city limits of San Francisco. For example, If you look on the southeast side of Telegraph Hill you'll see how it looks all dug away. That's because in the early days of the state the governor's mansion was on the hill and his young daughter while playing dug up a 3 ounce nugget which started a small gold rush.
@@LuckyBaldwin777 Hadn’t heard that about Telegraph Hill! Very cool history
@JakeOfAllTrades11 There's a bunch of stories of gold strikes like that in San Francisco. The city is built on a mini mountain range that has at least one fairly rich gold-quartz vein in it, and several rich pockets of nuggets have been found. The finds were accidental, and when they were made, San Francisco was heavily built up from the rush, so a thorough search was not possible. There's still gold rush gold in San Francisco. The problem is there's also multi-million dollar buildings sitting on top of it.
Good information I can use slightly disappointed there was no Williams wiggle haha thanks Jeff
yes we did say that at the end
@@Askjeffwilliams sorry I missed that Jeff
Your wife is such a trooper! I'm in the glacial moraines of Michigan's Thumb with nothing as interesting as Az geology. I did 3 months out at MCAS Yuma with trips to the desert around Gila Bend to the Chocolate Mtns. A beautiful area... but hot then cold at night. Thanks for the wonderful content.
you betcha
Jeff, if hand stacking is an interest, you need to visit the workings along Moccasin Creek south of Moccasin Dam. The stackings there look like architecture. Walls of dry stone masonry are built to contain the cobble tailings, and the walls are around 4 to 7 feet tall.
pretty cool
Thanks Jeff
you betcha
Another great educational lesson Jeff! Those stacks of bed stone are a dead giveaway, mother nature didn't do that, for sure someone was prospecting... keep it happening, love it all! ✌️⚒️⛏️💪👍🤠
A lot of nice shiny there I think I'll be doing this when I retire cuz then I have a lot of time if I don't die first
Good one, Professor.
Thanks! 😃
Wooooo genial amigo excelente trabajo saludos desde Colombia 🎉
muchas gracias
Love you content Jeff.. 😊
thanks
Another great video ! Thanks for showing us where to look ! My friends and I did the same years ago and located a vein that nobody else found. Too bad it was in the Desert Preserve. sigh.... We smashed that LIKE button for ya !
thanks my brother .....always our pleasure .... it is probably still there
Jeff, always fantastic work involved with your videos , I learn so much , keep them coming . I was wondering what brand of vacuum vac you are using in this video , or a better alternative vac that you might have run across lately . Also , where are you finding the better retro fit vac screens that you are installing instead of the original paper that comes with the vac
thanks...we are using a Ridgid and we just took the paper element off there is a fine screen under it
"AU" let's go 👍🚶♂️
Another great video,
Glad you enjoyed it
Happy Independence Day!
Oh heck yeah, brand spanking new content, all the way from start to finish.
I was working on some old abandoned mines, and found all sorts of lead I thought it was bullet fragments but it was Galena coming out of a brecciated mess of iron stained calcite and limestone I guess I got to keep digging deeper into the limestone they say is the host rock lots of rock to move too much for me they were blasting it out of the way
Hello Jeff and Mrs. Williams
Howdy Michael
I almost forgot to smash the like button.
don't forget that
Where can i find the geology reports you mentioned that one should study first before prospecting? Are you talking about the MRDS database at the USGS? Those reports always seem to be somewhat simple and short and lacking details and history. Thanks Jeff, another great video!
yes that the one and we have made many vids about how to navigate it ...but with that info you can bring up older reports
@@Askjeffwilliams Right on Sonny Jim! I guess I somehow missed those old videos explaining the MRDS but I’ll track them down. Thanks!
Awesomeness 🎉
Another great Video Jeff, So would it be a good idea to bring along a metal detector when you in a area like that with so much exposed Bed Rock ?
yes a good VLF like a Gold Bug 2 or a GM 1000
Great video brother! Looks like beautiful northern Nevada. What method were the old timers using to get the gold out of that wash where all the hand stacking is? Dry washing?
yes ....
Amazing
Jeff what will you tell us what all kinds of tools you would recommend to buy
he has a list of recommended equipment and tools at the bottom of the description of every video. links to amazon to buy them too
That's some great gold!
thanks
What sites do you use to find gold bearing districts
There is a way for automatic mining in water with flow. without modifying and very cheap materials.
I went out to my claim in wickenburg yesterday it was so hot by 9am had to bug out.
Good video, Jeff! Go where the gold is, let Mother Nature do the work. Got it.💰💰
exactly my brother
Ol jeff died of dehydration but Damm! He found some shiney
Brother i wish you were my neighbor because I believe we would be good friends. I really enjoy your videos. I live in Central Washington and have easy access to the Cascades. This payday im getting my first gold pan and classifier. You have got me interested. I'm 49 and retired due to illness so I have plenty of time on my hands. Thank you again for all the free education and motivation. God bless
it always our pleasure and keep us posted on that
The one time I’m actually sitting on my couch eating…chips lol you don’t tell me to go out prospecting 😂
3rd pants on....could be blown of clean Jeff....now i orderd a whole stash pallets of new pants so Jeff could blowing them of one by one haha😂keep it up your chanel is great! Greetings from the Netherlands 🎉🎉
hahahahahaha no pants can resist the Au-some power of the SHINEY
Happy 4th of July!!!
You for got the most important "Gold Digging"
Hi Jef.i have green soil in my backyard is any gold in it you think thanks.
you have to sample it
Hey Jeff do you have a video or could you maybe do one going into more detail on exactly how to figure out if an area has free mil gold? Also whats the difference and why is that the kind of gold you want? Thanks
you betcha we can
What metal detector would you recommend for areas with high iron content. Like Nutrioso Arizona, Las Vegas NV, Henderson NV, etc?
for that would recommend a good P.I.machine ...Garrett or Minelab
@@Askjeffwilliams awesome Ty
Nice River Bed Jeff ⛏️ Hope you have a great Fourth of July 🦅🇺🇸 Thank you for sharing with us 🙏 God Bless 🙏
thanks my brother and you to
Jeff when finding gold in a wash and then following up the wash and trying to find the source. Is it possible the source doesn't exist anymore?
yes... it may have eroded out
Hi Jeff recently I was asked what could be used to take a core from rock to test that core for gold.
Can you suggest a type of machine to do the job on a small scale..
Regards Johnno
Dewalt hollow core drill bits for hammer drills
Jeff is gold in washes always going to be fine. Can it be bigger than 20 mesh? Thank you
no ...it can be big nuggets
Very useful, Jeff. Thanks
Jeff when looking for Gold is it ok to sample mines that produced gold and silver? Should I just stick strictly mines that produced gold.
no ....both Gold and Silver but make sure the Gold is the primary
With Gold over 80 $ gram , It’s my favorite way to spend time getting Old and Finding Gold
when are you going to get down to Southern Az and show me how it's done?
when it cools off
Could you tell me the brand name of your hand vacuum. I need one…thanks for the great ideas…..
Ridgid
Is epithermal and hydrothermal the same? Thank you 😊
Yes 😊
I luv the williams wiggle. Ha ha ha
I live in a region where gold, diamonds & gems are very rich but I'm having trouble identifying the samples that I have
REMEMBER jeff always tell people to check the larger chuncks with a gold detector to see if there is any gold in those chunks, ? but in the future throw the larger chunks into another 5 gal bucket to be checked later! i threw out a bucket and found a chunk that had over 1 0z in the rock in weight after it got crushed! i know your prospecting to find the gold location in washes , but your also teaching people to lose the product, weither its in the chunks or not?EVER THROW THE ROCKS AWAY TILL ITS BEEN CHECK WITH A GOLD DETECTOR!!!
great info and especially in places like that ....we know the feeling .....
So come on, let's go!
Why are you saying what self-sufficient me has been saying on CZcams for at least a couple of years. So, let's get into it!
Adamım siz bir tanesiniz....ve bu işin ehlisiniz...yani bilerek çalışıyorsunuz....sizi tebri ederim....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

We pan very similar Mr Williams, can't think why😅
hahahahhahaaha
Jeff can I find gold in central Florida I don't think we have gold here
no only coral and coral castle
I get so into these videos that I forget about time then it's over I'm like that didn't seem like I was sitting there for 15 minutes..
